By conducting a comparative analysis, the article seeks to highlight similarities and differences between their perspectives, shedding light on how each thinker conceptualizes faith and its relationship to moral actions. Employing descriptive and analytic methods, the study reveals several striking similarities between these two renowned thinkers despite their differing theological backgrounds. Both al-Ghazali and Augustine articulate dynamic views of faith and its interrelation with good deeds, contending that the consistent practice of good deeds or virtuous actions is essential to complement an active faith. While acknowledging the distinct theological frameworks of Islam and Christianity, both scholars reject the notion that faith alone is sufficient, emphasizing instead the inseparable connection between faith and good deeds. Their emphasis on the importance of good deeds is evident in their exhortations to adhere to religious duties, lead morally upright lives, and cultivate virtuous conduct.
