These issues could bring damage and harm the peace and unity in a society. Although it does happened continuously either with or without certain intentions, it should never been taken lightly particularly in a plural country like Malaysia. Riots, demonstrations and fights among the people are usually caused by these issues. This paper studies how the media play its role in reporting on racial and religious issues in Malaysia. By referring to two cases; Lina Joy apostasy issue and the translation of the word ‘God’ to ‘Allah’ issue, a content analysis was conducted to observe on how these cases were written. It was found that both issues were carefully written and that the Malaysian newspapers reported only the facts which mainly sourced from a decision made by the Courts. This proves that the Malaysian media showed respect in helping the government to maintain peace and harmony in the plural society.en-USracial issues, religious issues, role of media, reporting on religious issues, plural society, Malaysian media, Lina Joy apostasy case, translation of ‘God’ to ‘Allah’ issue, peace, harmony.Maintaining Peace And Harmony Through Racial And Religious News ReportingArticle13061310
