The novel ‘Orang Kota Bharu’ by S. Othman Kelantan became the text of thisstudy.TheauthorpresentsthesocialrealitiesoftheKelantanesepeoplefromvarious social, economic, and political aspects through this novel. The purpose of this paper is to present various social realities presented by S. Othman Kelantan such as poverty, crimes, cockfight, gambling, prostitution, pre-marital sex, and female dancers. This is due to poverty and the lack of knowledge that society has. The problem of the study is intowhichextentthesocialrealitypresentedbytheauthorinhiscreativeworkthattakes placeinthecontemporarysituationoftheKelantanesepeoples.Thedescriptiveanalysis method brought by Peter Barry in liberal humanism theory is used as a bridge to descriptive methods for extracting data written in the novel ‘Orang Kota Bharu’. The findings of the text analysis show that there are still some social realities occured to this day among the people of Kelantan.
