It is necessaryto underscorethe significance of issues related to Quranonline teaching to ensure itseffectiveness for novice teachers. Indeed, theaimfor this paper is to analyze the need analysis for the development model of Online TalaqqiQuranTeaching (OTQT). This study employs a qualitative design during the need analysis phase based on Design and Development Research (DDR)methodology. Data collection was carried outthrough a literature review from document analysis and open-ended interviews with twoQuranic teachers who were involved in online teachingas well asonetechnical staffmember. Both sets of data weretriangulated usingthematic analysis to establishresearch themes. The results revealedthree primarycomponents in organizingonline talaqqiQuranteaching which are teacher’s criteria, teaching techniques and the technology tools.
