Among the biggest challenge faced by a student is to remember the mutashabih lafaz verses which appear to be similar to one another. The difficulty in memorizing and remembering the mutashabih lafaz verses requires specific teaching and learning methods from the institutions of tahfiz, teachers and students. Therefore, the objective of the study is to identify the accentuation and implementation of teaching mutashabih lafaz verse in tahfiz institutions and their lecturers, by making Darul Quran Jakim and Department of al-Quran and al-Qiraat, KUIS as research locations. This study was developed based on qualitative method using semi structured interviews as research instrument. Two experienced tahfiz teachers from each institution were selected as participants. The study found that there is no reference book nor specific teaching method been used officially in teaching mutashabih lafaz verses, even though the quality of memorization of these verses among students is weak.
