Prioritizing suitable learning strategies is fundamental for educators seeking to enhance the language acquisition process. This quantitative study is aimed to explore the perception of learners on their use of learning strategies among undergraduates in Malaysia. A purposive sample of 167 participants responded to the survey. The respondents were Foundation students from a public university. The instrument used was a 5-point Likert scale survey consisting of three components: cognitive, metacognitive self-regulation and resource management. The results generally suggest students’ strong inclination towards all three components. Understanding these causes can help create learning strategies to enhance language learning in the educational environment, as it sheds light on the relationship between learning strategies and language acquisition.
