Desquamative gingivitis (DG) is usually a manifestation of oral lichen planus (OLP) and may be the only clinical presentation of these disorders. There is erosion of the superficial epithelium layer. Such lesions impede proper oral hygiene indirectly increase the long-term risk for plaque-induced periodontal disease via plaque accumulation. This case report presents a multidisciplinary management of an Indian male, who suffer from OLP related desquamative gingivitis with the diagnosis of generalized chronic periodontitis. The patient was jointly managed by oral medicine specialist, periodontist and prosthodontist.
