Thus, the encouragement of thinking culture helps to prevent the blind thinking culture also known as taqlid. The idea of higher order thinking skill (HOTs) has been emphasized by Ministry of Education in teaching and learning process including Islamic Education (IE). However, IE distinguished the culture in four disciplines namely Quran and Hadith, Akidah, Fikah and Akhlak, which require unique approach for each discipline. This article predetermined to analyse the application of HOTs in this four distinguish discipline. The method used in this study is document analysis. Previous researches and verses in Quran that related to thinking skills were systematic examined. This research suggests that HOTs to be categorized into identical themes that illustrate HOTs in IE. The research concluded, HOTs in IE are unique by its knowledge area.
