Publication An identification of authentic narrator's name features in Malay hadith texts(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2016) ;Abd Rahman N. ;Alias N. ;Ismail N.K. ;Bin Mohamed Nor Z. ;Alias M.N.B. ;Faculty of Quran and Sunnah Studies ;Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)Name is regarded as important to human. A person's name can give impact to him/her either positively or negatively. It is important to recognize or match a person's name with the right person. To do this on the computer, we need to develop a rule so that the computer will be able to recognize the right name with the right person. Before developing the rule, the features about the person's name itself need to be identified. So far, there has been very little work on recognizing a person's name in the Malay texts. This research identifies features of authentic narrator's name in the Malay hadith texts. We extracted the authentic narrators' names manually from hadith texts in the purpose of identifying the features of the names. We extracted manually 455 narrator's name from 150 Malay hadith texts. From the extracted name, exist same person of narrator's name with different types of spelling. There are also many forms of the narrator's names which refers to one person. We also identify the name manner in the Malay hadith texts and added 3 more name manners. Then, we developed the rule to recognize the narrators' names in the Malay hadith texts based on the identified features. 2015 IEEE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Comparative Study of Machine Learning Approach on Malay Translated Hadith Text Classification based on Sanad(EDP Sciences, 2017) ;Mohammad Najib S.R. ;Abd Rahman N. ;Kamal Ismail N. ;Alias N. ;Mohamed Nor Z. ;Alias M.N. ;Faculty of Quran and Sunnah Studies ;Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) ;Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)Sanad is one of important part used to determine the authentication of hadith. However, very little research work has been found on classification of Malay translated Hadith based on sanad. There are some researches done using machine learning approach on hadith classification based on sanad but using different objective with different language. This research is to see how Machine Learning techniques are used to classify Malay translated Hadith document based on sanad. In this paper, SVM, NB and k-NN are used to identify and evaluate the performance of Malay translated hadith based on sanad. The performances are evaluated based on standard performance metrics used in text classification which is accuracy and response time. The results show that SVM has the highest accuracy and k-NN has the best response time (time taken in process for classification data) compare to other classifier. In future, we plan to extend this paper with the analysis on interclass similarity and also test on larger dataset. 2017 The Authors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The effectiveness of religious module in improving psyco-spiritual health for women inmates in prison(2014) ;Mohamad Jodi K.H. ;Bin Mohamad M.A. ;Mohd Radzi W. ;Che Seman A. ;Abd Rahman N. ;Senin N. ;Fairuz Ramlan S. ;Johari F. ;UNITAR International University ;Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) ;University of Malaya (UM)Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)The implementation of religiosity and psycho-spiritual health through the module instrumentation is deemed significant to the inmates. Both entities are found to be effective in producing positive result. It is also believed to be able to train and treat patients' mental state and behavioral state, thus from recurring bad behaviors. Several methods have been applied including: Cross survey, interview and questionnaire survey, which involves 40 inmates in the prison for various delinquencies. This research is going to analyze the effectiveness of the psychospiritual module on the prison inmates before and after treatment. Due to the respondents' location, this research conducted at the Kajang Women prison in Malaysia. This article also evaluates the influence of religiousness inculcated in the treatment of inmates, which promotes changes in positive attitude, daily lifestyle, mental health and self-management. The result illustrates positive outcome from the implemented module before and after the psychospiritual treatment. As conclusion, the study findings give strong support for the effectiveness of religious approach in improving spiritual health for women inmates in prison. Thus, religious approach is recommended as an alternative to the current allopathic treatment method in dealing with the problem especially for women inmates in prison.
