Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji keberkesanan transformasi digital dan norma baharu kepada penggiat industri pelancongan dan kebudayaan ketika mendepani cabaran penularan pandemik Covid-19. Kajian ini menggunakan kerangka teori yang digunakan Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) meliputi 206 responden penggiat industri pelancongan domestik di seluruh Malaysia. Responden dari pelbagai latar belakang dan negeri diminta melengkapkan borang soal selidik dan analisis deskriptif serta analisis kebolehpercayaan untuk meneliti sama ada transformasi digital membantu mereka dalam promosi perniagaan pelancongan selepas Covid19. Justeru, survey keratan rentas digunakan untuk mengutip data. Persoalan kajian yang jelas dan khusus dirangka untuk meneliti sekiranya perubahan trend dalam perniagaan dilaksanakan oleh penggiat industri pelancongan, dapat membantu mereka meneruskan kelangsungan ekonomi atau apakah mereka berputus asa dan mengambil keputusan tidak bernas dalam keadaan yang tidak menentu ketika itu. Penyelidik juga berharap dapat mengenalpasti strategi komunikasi efektif yang mereka gunakan dan sekiranya pendekatan itu dapat membantu memulihkan segera ekonomi negara dan pendapatan mereka. Hasil dapatan data mendapati bahawa penggunaan platform digital terbukti membantu para penggiat industri pelancongan untuk bangkit semula, setelah terjejas teruk akibat pandemik Covid-19 dan mereka boleh bergantung kepada platform ini sekiranya berlaku krisis di masa depan. Hasil daripada kajian ini boleh digunakan sebagai rujukan kepada penggiat industri pelancongan dan pihak Kerajaan juga, dalam mencapai matlamat untuk memulihkan perniagaan masing-masing serta ekonomi negara menerusi sektor pelancongan dan kebudayaan. Secara kesimpulannya, hasil kajian ini boleh menjadi panduan untuk memperbaiki dasar, pendekatan mahupun strategi perniagaan baru dalam norma baharu. Ia juga boleh menjadi rujukan untuk mempersiapkan industri sekiranya berlaku krisis lain di masa hadapan.

Introduction: This study aims to develop sexual orientation scale based on trait of Gay and Lesbian gender disorder from Malaysian socio cultures. The basic model of this measurement instrument is based on Fritz Klein's 7 Dimensions of Sexual Orientation (1993). Methods: This study used a mixed method design which is a combination of interview, document analysis and survey. Based on the case study, 8 Gay and Lesbian respondents were selected purposefully. Gay and Lesbian respondents were interviewed using semi-structured interview techniques. While document analysis used past literature, journals, articles, written documents and Sexual Deviant Behavior questionnaires. Interview findings form themes and are combined with document analysis findings to form a measurement instrument. Next, measuring instruments are developed according to standard procedures (Brown, 1983). Results: The construct validity of the measurement instrument was obtained from 2 counseling experts to form the Roslee Gay Sex Orientation Measurement Instrument (ISGR) and the Roslee Lesbian Sex Orientation Measurement Instrument (ISLR). ISGR inventory traits contain 6 sub-constructs namely Instinct, Expression, Nurture, Gay Behaviour, Experience Sexual Deviant Behavior and Spiritual. While the ISLR trait contains 5 sub-constructs namely Instinct, Nurture, Gay Behaviour, Experience Sexual Deviant Behavior and Spiritual. The ISGR instrument pilot test has a reliability value of 0.76 while the ISLR has a reliability value of 0.75. According to Kerlinger (1979) and Mohd Majid (1990), Cronbach's alpha reliability value above 0.6 is good and acceptable. Conclusions: These two measuring instruments can be used by parents as a measuring instrument to prevent children and teenagers from acting Gay and Lesbian. Thus, early intervention steps can be taken to recover children from Gay and Lesbian gender disorder.

Hollywood's dominance of the international film industry took hold after World War 2, and today, it churns out movies that are screened in almost 150 countries across the world. Its enduring grip was the result of World War 1 and 2, which effectively killed off Europe's film industry. Statistics show that between 40 and 90 percent of films screened around the world are either produced in Hollywood or by United States-owned transnational company. In the European continent, Hollywood films controlled 53 % of the French film industry; Canada (87%); and the United Kingdom (73.5 %) in 2003. The scenario is changing especially with advancement of information communication technology (ICT), the one way film direction gradually transform into multidirectional where Hollywood is not the only centre of creative industry. The emergence of many center of creative industry such as Bollywood, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and China, Thailand, Phillipines and Malaysia pave the way for flowing of Asian film among Asian and Asean countries. South Korea for example with its strong local film industry and association with big conglomerates launches its Hallayun (Korean Wave) campaign to export film to Asean and Asian countries. The success of South Korea gives inspiration to other countries to adopt and adapt similar strategy. The contra flow of film has opened an opportunity for local film producers to export local films. Merong Mahawangsa and Vikingdom are among films produced by local movie studio - KRU Studio for export and some local film producers were invited to participate in the international film festivals such as Cannes in France and Sundance in America. This shows our local film is gaining international recognition and acceptance. To become film exporter Malaysia needs a strong and vibrant film industry and for that purpose the government has introduced many incentives to spur the growth of local film industry. Among the incentives are allocation of RM200 million fund for local players, rebate for local and international production house which used Malaysia as shooting location. Government has introduced two policies such as National Film Policy and National Creative Industry Policy to give impetus to local film industry.

The aims of this study were to examine the acceptance and attitude of Malaysia undergraduate college student’s toward LGBT community. This study was conducted toward 120 college students’ based on random sampling method. These instruments were adapted from Acceptance and Action Questionnaire - Stigma (AAQS) questionnaire developed by Levin et al. (2014). Heterosexual Attitudes Towards Homosexuality (HATH) Scale developed by Larsen et al. (1980) with Cronbach alpha was 0.84. Data collected were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The analysis used statistic inference using correlation and t-test. Results showed there were significant correlation between acceptance and attitude toward LGBT community among college students and a significant relationship between acceptance and attitude based on gender among students. This also shows although government policies and laws relating to religion limit social, religious and gender equality in Malaysia, however at the college level, students are open, tolerant and accepting of these groups in the society. Therefore, it is recommended that further studies should be carried out among young people of various races, namely Malays, Chinese and Indians as the younger generation is more open-minded and provide services and facilities to better serve this group. In addition, the acceptance and attitudes of LGBT individuals attending primary and secondary schools should be helped to ensure that LGBT groups are not excluded from the national education system. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengenal pasti hubungan antara gaya keibubapaan ibu tunggal dengan penghargaan kendiri dan resiliensi remaja dari kelaurga Melayu bercerai. Seramai 164 remaja berusia antara 13 hingga 14 tahun telah dipilih sebagai responden, penghargaan kendiri serta resiliensi responden. Ujian statistic yang sesuai seperti taburan kekerapan, peratusan, purata dan sisihan piawai telah digunakan bagi setiap soalan kajian mengikut tahap yang ditentukan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisisan SPSS versi 19. Pekali Pearson telah digunakan untuk menganalisis data bagi menentukan hubungan anatara gaya keibubapaan dengan penghargaan kendiri dan resiliensi remaja pada aras signifikan 0.05. Dapatkan kajian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara gaya keibubapaan penyayang dengan penghargaan kendiri pada nilai signifikan 0.000. Dapatan keseluruhan kajian menunjukkan bahawa betapa pentingya ibu tunggal memiliki gaya keibubapaan yang positif bagi mempengaruhi penghargaan kendiri serta resiliensi remaja.

Audit Bureau Circulations (ABC) dalam laporannya berkaitan edaran akhbar di Malaysia menunjukkan bilangan jualan akhbar bahasa Melayu jatuh merudum. Contohnya Berita Harian mencatatkan kemerosotan jualan kepada 66,524 naskhah pada Januari 2019 berbanding 125,514 naskhah pada Januari 2014 manakala BH Ahad jatuh kepada 44,995 naskhah berbanding 156,835 naskhah pada tempoh yang sama. Utusan Malaysia dan Mingguan Malaysia mencatatkan kejatuhan yang lebih teruk iaitu masing-masing jualan sebanyak 171,663 naskhah dan 360,919 naskhah pada Januari 2014 kepada 97,393 dan 199,154 (2018) sebelum syarikat itu gulung tikar pada 9 Oktober 2019. Institut Kajian Kewartawanan Reuters melalui Laporan Berita Digital 2022 menyatakan, tiada satu pun akhbar bercetak jualannya meningkat dalam tempoh lima tahun (2017- 2022). Tiada kajian khusus dilakukan berkaitan punca fenomena kejatuhan akhbar bahasa Melayu secara domino ini. Hakikatnya kejatuhan jualan akhbar bahasa Melayu sudah pun berlaku secara perlahan-lahan dalam tempoh lebih 10 tahun kebelakangan ini. Hasil analisis kajian ini mendapati bahawa Internet adalah faktor utama kepada kemerosotan dan kejatuhan akhbar Utusan Malaysia, Kosmo!, Harian Metro dan Berita Harian sejak tahun 2014. Kejatuhan akhbar-akhbar ini memberikan impak yang sangat besar kepada ekonomi, penggunaan bahasa Melayu, pengaruh Islam, sosial dan politik serta kehilangan pekerjaan dalam kalangan pengamal media Syarikat terbabit. Trend ini dijangkakan berterusan dengan kepesatan IR4.0 dan rangkaian 5G yang diperluaskan ketika ini.

Dengan kehadiran media baharu, ianya sedikit sebanyak mengancam kedudukan media tradisional. Industri penerbitan akhbar menunjukkan penurunan dari tahun ke tahun. Ianya amat membimbangkan industri percetakan akhbar. Kajian ini telah dibuat bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesan kehadiran media baharu terhadap pengumpulan berita, kesan kehadiran media baharu terhadap industri penerbitan dan mengkaji penggunaan media baharu dalam kalangan wartawan. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah temubual secara mendalam bersama Encik Zainudin Mohd Isa merupakan Pengarang Bersekutu Digital, Rencana dan Laporan Khas Berita Harian untuk mendapatkkan maklumat terperinci mengenai kes ini. Berdasarkan maklumat yang telah diperolehi, media baharu banyak memberi kesan terhadap media tradisional namun pengarang tidak terlalu fokus untuk meningkatkan kembali pengeluaran akhbar cetak tetapi mengambil langkah untuk mengukuhkan pengeluaran berita melalui media baharu seperti media sosial, facebook, twitter, instagram, whatssap dan youtube.

This study examined the psychometric elements of psychological symptoms, attitudes and coping strategies and the impact of COVID-19 on learning among the university students in Malaysia. The design employed in this study was survey method, that centered on convenience sampling method. A total of 489 students from eight undergraduate program of year 1 to year 4 participated in the study. They enrolled in various disciplines ranging from chemical and food science, medicine, engineering, psychology, communication to religious studies program. Data was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with all items being grouped within the study’s constructs, which subsequently, were tested using the establishment of measurement model of confirmatory factor analysis. The instrumentation for this study was adapted from Weiner’s Attribution Theory, Expectations and Values Theory. Comparatively, in measuring the students’ coping strategic approach, items were adopted from Greenaway. Additionally, the Counseling Center Assessment of Psychological Symptoms (CCAPS-62) scale was adapted to measure the eight constructs namely anxiety, social anxiety, academic distress, eating anxiety distress, family distress, hostility, and smoking abuse. The Cronbach’s alpha values for all three constructs have indicated the accepted values. Findings revealed that the loading factors for the attitude, coping strategies and psychological constructs are at the accepted values and acceptable composite reliability values. Findings also indicate that the measurement model for the construct attitude, coping strategies and psychological have loading estimates that are statistically significant.

The aims of this study was to identify the use of tobacco and its impact on mental health among adolescents. This study was a case study using quantitative method involved 100 students from Faculty of Leadership and Management, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia who had a smoking habit. The technique of volunteer was used to gain participate from the samples. This study used descriptive and inferential of analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 22.0 to gain descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson Corelation. Research findings showed that there was no significant difference in the score between tobacco use and tobacco type= t (3.98) = p = 0.28. The results showed that the used of tobacco difference in the type of tobacco. Although, there was a significant difference in the score between mental health and tobacco type = t (2.38) p = 0.009. Further recommendation to improve this study by using multiracial, interfaculty students and ages between 21 to 25.

Hasil daripada kajian ini boleh digunakan sebagai rujukan kepada penggiat industri pelancongan dan pihak Kerajaan juga, dalam mencapai matlamat untuk memulihkan perniagaan masing-masing serta ekonomi negara menerusi sektor pelancongan dan kebudayaan. Secara kesimpulannya, hasil kajian ini boleh menjadi panduan untuk memperbaiki dasar, pendekatan mahupun strategi perniagaan baru dalam norma baharu. Ia juga boleh menjadi rujukan untuk mempersiapkan industri sekiranya berlaku krisis lain di masa hadapan.

Malaysia film industry has a long history. From the first film, Laila Majnun (1933) to the contemporary film, more Malay films have been produced. However, the Malay film industry today is challenged by the influx of Hollywood films dominating the local film market. To understand the challenges of the local film industry, this article depicts a reflection from the industry player and audience about creating a comprehensive ecosystem to develop a model of viable and vibrant film industry. Using an in-depth interview method, this article wants to gauge how deep the Western value seeping in local society and changes the value system of indigenous culture which is based on Islamic teachings. The results showed that despite the hybridity between local and Western values, the audience wishes to watch the local culture featured in local films. Although the film industry is challenged with the influx of foreign films, government policies helped the development of the Malay film industry.
