This research marked Step (i) out of ADDIE five steps of academic module development. It was meant to explore Arabic learning needs for UAM in order to identify the major aspects of the proposed EALM development. The study used a descriptive method with a purposive UAM sample size (n=40). The valid and reliable questionnaire of 5 Likert scales was used and the total reliability coefficient of which was ( r )=.984 for 128 items. The major results showed that UAM needed Arabic language for nine major purposes including religious, social, communication, education, business, self-satisfaction, diplomatic, security, and legal purposes. The general implication of the findings confirmed that UAM Arabic weakness was a reflection of weaknesses in their Arabic curriculum. The researchers recommended to consider thise finding in the process of building EALM for UAM with samples of lessons using elementary Arabic grammar, morphology, and Common Arabic Vocabularies (CAV)”. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Halimi ;Mohammad Najib JaffarSetiyawan GunardiSalah satu sumber rujukan untuk mengetahui mengetahui status halal haram haiwan adalah kamus Idris al-Marbawi yang ditulis oleh Sheikh Mohd Idris al-Marbawi. Kamus ini mengandungi klasifikasi haiwan halal dan haram secara bergambar mengikut kategori hidupan tersebut. Artikel ini bertujuan mengenalpasti istilah-istilah haiwan dan menganalisis kaedah pengkategorian haiwan halal haram yang terdapat dalam karya tersebut. Artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan kajian kualititaf menerusi kaedah kutipan data secara analisis dokumen terhadap istilah-istilah haiwan yang dinyatakan dalam kamus. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat empat kategori haiwan dengan jumlah keseluruhan sebanyak 181 spesis haiwan yang telah diterjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Melayu oleh Sheikh Mohd Idris al-Marbawi. Pada zaman ini, masalah yang sedang kita hadapi adalah perhatian kita terlalu sedikit dan singkat untuk mengetahui kaedah-kaedah bahasa Arab dan mengetahui kepentingannya dalam memahami sesuatu nas dan tujuan-tujuannya dengan melihat kepada operasi, konseptual, eksplisit, metafora, tafsiran umum dan khusus di mana semua ini memerlukan pengetahuan bahasa yang lengkap. Oleh itu, pemahaman terhadap fungsi Dalalah Nahwiyyah dan Balaghiyyah dalam pembinaan hukum perlu diambil perhatian dengan cara pengukuhan ciri-ciri unit modul akademik tersebut. Kajian ini menggunakan model analisis keperluan Hutchinson and Waters, 1987 yang terdiri daripada Kekurangan, Keperluan dan Kehendak untuk mengumpul data utama. Manakala data sokongan diperolehi daripada analisis dokumen-dokumen yang berkaitan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa majoriti responden sudah memahami kebanyakkan tajuk-tajuk berkaitan ilmu Nahu dan dalalahnya dengan baik walapun terdapat sebahagian mereka yang masih belum menguasainya. Dari sudut ilmu Balaghah pula, majoriti responden menunjukkan ketidakpastian dengan tahap pemahaman dan penguasaan mereka terhadap ilmu Balaghah dan dalalahnya. Publication Analisis Penyenaraian Haiwan Menerusi Kitab Matla’ al-Badrain oleh Syeikh Muhammad bin Ismail Daud al-Fathani Menurut Perspektif Halal dan Zoologi(USIM Press, 2024) ;Mohd Mahyeddin Mohd Salleh ;Mohd Anuar Mamat ;Mustafa Afifi Ab Halim ;Mohammad Najib JaffarNurdeng DeurasehSalah satu sumber rujukan untuk mengetahui status halal haram haiwan adalah kitab Matla’ al-Badrain yang ditulis oleh Syeikh Muhammad bin Ismail Daud al-Fathani. Karya ini mengandungi pengelasan haiwan halal dan haram mengikut spesis hidupan yang biasa ditemui di tanah Melayu dan tanah Arab. Bagaimanapun, masih terdapat beberapa nama haiwan yang kurang jelas maksudnya serta memerlukan kepada kajian terperinci. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti nama-nama haiwan, menganalisis kaedah pengelasan haiwan halal haram yang terdapat dalam karya Matla’ al-Badrain, dan menghubungkaitkan dengan penamaan zoologi yang bersesuaian. Metodologi kajian berbentuk kualititaf menerusi kaedah kutipan data secara analisis tekstual terhadap nama-nama spesis haiwan yang dinyatakan dalam karya tersebut. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat tiga bentuk pengelasan haiwan di dalam Matla’ al-Badrain iaitu haiwan laut, hidupan darat dan haiwan kacukan antara haiwan yang halal dan haram dimakan. Jumlah keseluruhan jenis haiwan yang disebutkan adalah sebanyak 80 spesis. Terdapat tiga bentuk penerangan spesis haiwan yang digunakan iaitu; 1) nama haiwan jelas maksudnya dalam Bahasa Melayu, 2) nama haiwan dalam Bahasa Arab yang disertai penterjemahan, 3) nama haiwan dalam Bahasa Arab yang tiada penterjemahan. Malaysia is no exception to being a focused country as a popular Islamic tourism destination. However, there was insufficient tourism-related information, especially on Muslim tourists via smartphone. Hence the present article conducted a systematic literature review on the design and development of Islamic tourism applications via smartphones focusing on the Android platform. This study selected related articles using three databases: EBSCOhost, Mendeley, and Google Scholar. Based on the thematic analysis, this review has five main themes, namely 1) Islamic tourism; 2) technology; 3) mobile application; 4) barriers; and 5) management. The findings prompted the design and development of a smartphone application that addresses all of the needs of tourists, mainly Muslim tourists. One of the reasons for the slow achievement of the goals that have been set is the inaccuracy in choosing the method. The Audiolingual method as applied by Arabic learning practitioners has been able to improve the quality of Arabic learning processes and outcomes. Therefore, this article explains, reveals, and analyzes in depth the Audiolingual method in theory and practice. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Research data were collected from library sources relevant to the research theme. The research data were analyzed in terms of content analysis by comparing various opinions of experts, the researcher concludes by determining the position among the existing opinions. The result of the research is the Audiolingual method, which is a language learning method that emphasizes understanding what is listened to. This method emerged based on the behaviorism approach. In practice, the Audiolingual method is equipped with exercises on sentence patterns that aim to improve student's communication skills. Arabic For Islamic Science is apart of Arabic For Specific Purposes. There are many teaching methods which can be applied to them such as Tariqah Al-Miran 'Ala Al-Qawalib that the Arabic vocabularies are taught repeatly. The results shown that Arabic For Islamic Science texts can be derived from primary sources such as Quran and Sunnah and secondary sources such as dua 'and hand-made texts. The Study also analyzes some theories related to governance in light of the literatures related to the objectives of this study. To achieve the objectives of the study, governance theories have been analyzed, and some rigorous books, literatures and online readings have been made to get a more established knowledge about governance. The paper is descriptive and analytical in nature. It describes the conventional design of ALC proceeded by the detailed functional analyses for UAB. The focus is centered on two major ALC design components: ALC linguistic design and ALC technical design. On one hand, the paper analyses the two major aims of ALC linguistic design including the deliberate selection of lexical content, grammatical and morphological rules. On another hand, the paper analyses the three Major Aims of ALC technical design including: deciding on ALC format, developing ALC instructional strategy and developing ALC evaluation strategies. The analysis of ALC development format involves the guide to expand ALC synonyms and antonyms using Arabic derivative morphology ADM. The format design also involves planning the best modes of how to impart the ALC knowledge to UAB audience. Whereas the analysis of ALC instructional strategy development touched ALC theoretical models, ALC instructional framework, and ALC instructional activities. Finally, the paper analyses the ALC evaluation strategies which includes designing ALC learning outcomes, teaching and learning experiences as well as ALC assessment strategies. Publication The Educational First Field Supervisors’ Practice Of The Transformational Leadership Supervision Skills: Teachers’ Prespectives In The Sultanate Of Oman(Usuli Faqih Research Centre PLT, 2018) ;Khulood Ahmed Amur Alobaidani ;Noorhayati HashimMohammad Najib JaffarThis quantitative study is to investigate the degree of the educational supervisors’ practice of the first field to the educational supervision transformational leadership skills, from the teachers’ perspective. The problem is that the educational supervisor does not practice transformational leadership. The objectives included: the extent of the first field educational supervisors’ practice of the transformational leadership behavior, which includes four areas: ideal effect, mental arousal, inspirational motivation and individual considerations. The researcher adopted the analytical descriptive method, a random sample of (65) first field teachers was selected. A questionnaire of (16) paragraphs was used to measure the extent of the educational supervisors’ practice of transformational leadership, by (4) paragraphs to measure each area. For data analysis, the statistical package (SPSS) and the Pearson correlation coefficient were used to measure the interconnections of the scales and axes of the scale, and the Cronbach alpha coefficients. The findings showed that the degree of practice of the educational supervisor of supervisory leadership was (medium) with an average of (3.33) and a standard deviation of (1.311). The results of the sample responses varied between the large and middle grades. The mean ranged between (3.46) and (2.92). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Decisions related to signs, visual elements, layout, and composition are pivotal. Beyond the utilization of standard icons in mobile applications, designers must craft interfaces that align with the application's underlying concept. Notably, operating systems like Android continuously update their interfaces to enhance the user'sexperience. The incorporation of colour and shape, alongside text and images, is ubiquitous in interface designs. Some elements adhere to standard visual representations. This paper delves into the meticulous process of selecting appropriate visual elements for use in an Islamic Tourism mobile application. The design undergoes a comprehensive process, including a visual analysis of elements tailored to the target audience. Beyond considerations of design principles, other aspects play a crucial role in interface design. Heuristics theory serves as a valuable reference for enhancing interface usability, while the Semantics theory aids in choosing images that effectively convey information and instructions. These considerations informed the construction of questionnaire items. Expert consensus is instrumental in item selection, with data collection preceding the design phase. The mobile application development process follows the Design and Development Research (DDR) model, encompassing phases such as need analysis, design, development, and evaluation. The design concept must align seamlessly with the application's theme. Usability evaluation is described as a test performed on a real user to assess how easy it is to use an application. In this study, the respondents must use the developed prototype and give an evaluation of the questionnaire provided in order to determine the usability of the i-Rehlah prototype. Since the evaluation of usability could not be applied to Arab tourists as the main respondents, the authors decided to appoint professionals in academia, industry, and government as respondents. For the initial phase of construction for the real application, the choice of this technique and a target group of experts is deemed appropriate. This study aimed to obtain experts’ consensus on the elements of i-Rehlah prototype application. The main focus of this study is to assess the efficacy of the i-Rehlah prototype, which aims to make it easier for travelers, particularly Arab tourists, to travel in Selangor. This study was used the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) to achieve the result. This questionnaire contains three main domains with total 21 items and was distributed to 10 respondents. The criteria and characteristics of the experts who are the subject of this study are very much in line with the context of the study because it involves experts in the fields of academia, industry and government. The results show that two of the three domains got expert agreement, namely the information and interface domains. Meanwhile, for the interactive domains, four of the eight items stated were rejected by the experts due to a lack of fuzzy score requirements. Publication The Graciousness, Tolerance and Affection in Al-Quran through A Value-Based Arabic Syntax(Human Resource Management Academic Research Societ, 2022) ;Mohd Nizwan Musling ;Muhammad Zahid IsmaiMohammad Najib JaffarGraciousness, tolerance and affection are part of Universal Social Moral Values (USMV) which is one of the substantial elements in human development, where it is able to create a balanced and harmonious human being in terms of intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical regardless of religion, race and belief. However, the application of these social values is not clearly seen in the Arabic syntax curriculum even though the main source of the curriculum is from the Quran which loaded with values. Therefore, this study will analyse the verses of the Qur'an that convey the three USMVs: graciousness, tolerance and affection. To prove the universality of these values, this study will match the themes of social values according to the major religions in Malaysia such as Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism. To achieve these objectives, a qualitative approach is implemented using content analysis to describe the USMV found in the Quran deductively and inductively. The findings of the study reveal thirteen surahs which are Al-Isra’ (17:23, 28), Toha (20:44), Al-Hujurat (49:2), AlBaqarah (2:263), Asy-Syuura (42:43), Al-Imraan (3:133,134,159), Al-Jaathiyah (45:14), An-Nur (24:22), At-Taghaabun (64:14), Al-Balad (90:17), Ar-Rum (30:21), Al-Maidah (5:82), and AlMumtahanah (60:7). These ayats consist of declarative noun and verb phrases, command phrases, prohibition phrases, and expectation verb phrases. According to Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia has been chosen as the world?s top destination for Muslim travellers for three consecutive years in recent surveys conducted by Singapore?s Crescent Rating and the United States? Dinar Standard. Hence, this study is conducted to explore needs analysis in Arabic for Islamic Tourism through an integration of Naqli and Aqli model which is a combination between revealed and conventional knowledge. This study was implemented in Kuala Lumpur city centre as it is the center of tourists among selected purposive sampling of 30 respondents of the Arab tourists. The main findings of this study can be viewed from various aspects; Among the main factors of Saudi tourist attractions to Malaysia is lawful and Sharia-compliant hotels, facilities and products. From the perspective of Arabic language use, there are some deficiencies and loopholes that can be fixed. Yet from the aspect of the tourists? needs suggestions pertaining to the use of Arabic language were identified. Publication Kepentingan Pengajaran Subjek Syariah Dan Pengajian Islam Menggunakan Bahasa Arab: Kajian Persepsi Pelajar Syariah Dan Undang-Undang, USIM(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2020-11-18) ;Mualimin Mochammad Sahid ;Baidar Mohammed Mohammed HasanMohammad Najib JaffarObjektif kajian: Kajian ini bertujuan mengenalpasti kepentingan dan kebolehlaksanaan pengajaran dan pembelajaran subjek-subjek Syariah dan pengajian Islam dalam bahasa Arab di Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Metodologi kajian: Kajian ini menggunakan kaidah kajian kuantitatif yang melibatkan seramai 239 pelajar tahun 1 sehingga tahun 5 daripada Fakulti Syariah dan Undang-Undang, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Satu (1) set soal selidik yang mengandungi enam (6) soalan bagi mengetahui pandangan mereka berkaitan keperluan dan kebolehlaksanaan pengajaran dan pembelajaran subjek Syariah dan pengajian Islam menggunakan medium bahasa Arab. Responden dipilih menggunakan teknik persampelan rawak dan data dianalisis menggunakan kaedah statistik deskriptif. Hasil kajian: Kajian ini mendapati bahawa 69.5% responden berpandangan pengajaran subjek-subjek Syariah dan Pengajian Islam di USIM adalah perlu. Bahkan hampir keseluruhan responden, iaitu sebanyak 92.5% bersetuju sebagai universiti peneraju integrasi ilmu Naqli dan Aqli, USIM perlu memartabatkan Bahasa Arab disamping Bahasa Melayu dan Inggeris sebagai bahasa Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran (PnP). Walaubagaimanapun, terdapat cabaran dalam penggunaan bahasa Arab sebagai medium PnP yang dihadapi oleh kebanyakan pelajar. Justeru, 63.2% responden mengakui bahwa mereka mengalami kesusahan dalam memahami subjek-subjek Syariah dan Pengajian Islam jika disampaikan dalam Bahasa Arab. Adapun punca kesukaran yang dialami pelajar dalam memahami subjek yang diajar dalam Bahasa Arab adalah disebabkan oleh sikap pelajar yang lebih suka dan merasa selesa jika PnP dijalankan dalam bahasa selain Bahasa Arab, sama ada bahasa Melayu ataupun bahasa Inggeris. Majoriti pelajar, iaitu seramai 59.4% responden menyatakan dan bersetuju dengan perkara ini. Aplikasi kajian: Hasil kajian ini dapat digunapakai sebagai rujukan penggubal polisi dan jawatankuasa pengurusan tertinggi universiti bagi memastikan bahawa penggunaan medium Bahasa Arab dalam PnP subjek-subjek Syariah dan Pengajian Islam masih relevan dan perlu diteruskan. Ini adalah bagi meneruskan dan memantapkan lagi agenda integrasi ilmu Naqli dan Aqli di Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Bahasa Arab sebagai medium sumber-sumber rujukan ilmu Naqli wajar diberi tumpuan yang lebih besar bagi membolehkan pelajar-pelajar memiliki dasar keilmuan yang kuat dalam memahami dan mengaplikasi kedua-dua disiplin ilmu ini. Kebaharuan/Keaslian kajian: Kajian ini mendedahkan punca sebenar masalah dan cabaran yang dihadapi oleh pelajar dan guru (pensyarah). Terdapat pelbagai isu seperti lemahnya prestasi pelajar dan rendahnya minat mereka dalam subjek Syariah dan Pengajian Islam tanpa dikenalpasti puncanya. Justeru, kajian ini menunjukkan fakta dan punca sebenar. Publication Kesahan Dan Kebolehpercayaan Instrumen Model Keperluan Bahasa Arab Untuk Pelancongan Islam Di Selangor(Pusat Pengajian Teras (PPT), Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor, 2019) ;Mohammad Imran Ahmad ;Muhammad Firdaus Abdul ManafMohammad Najib JaffarKajian ini bertujuan untuk membina instrumen model keperluan Bahasa Arab Untuk Pelancongan Islam di Selangor serta menilai kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan dalam mengukur kepentingan bahasa Arab dalam sektor pelancongan di Malaysia. Instrumen ini dibangunkan menggunakan Model Reka Bentuk Keperluan Bahasa Hutchinson & Waters (1987). Ia mengandungi empat konstruk utama iaitu faktor-faktor pemilihan destinasi pelancongan, penggunaan bahasa Arab dalam pelancongan, keperluan pelancong Arab terhadap bahasa Arab di Selangor dan cadangan silibus Bahasa Arab Pelancongan. Ia meliputi 46 item soalan yang diukur menggunakan skala Likert. Soal selidik ini telah disahkan oleh empat orang pakar bidang bahasa Arab untuk tujuan khusus dan pendidikan. Satu kajian rintis yang melibatkan seramai 30 orang pelancong berbangsa Arab dipilih secara rawak di sekitar Selangor. Dapatan kajian ini mendapati bahawa nilai Cronbach Alpha keseluruhan bagi instrumen penilaian ini ialah 0.845. Ini menunjukkan bahawa instrumen penilaian ini mempunyai nilai kebolehpercayaan yang tinggi dan baik. Diharapkan agar instrumen penilaian Keperluan Bahasa Arab Untuk Pelancongan Islam di Selangor ini dapat membantu dalam menganalisis keperluan sebenar pelancong Arab yang memilih Malaysia sebagai destinasi pelancongan khususnya negeri Selangor dan melonjakkan kadar pendapatan perkapita negeri dalam bidang pelancongan. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Model Analisis Keperluan Bahasa Arab Untuk Pelancongan Islam: Kajian Awal(Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor, 2017) ;Mohammad Imran Bin AhmadMohammad Najib JaffarKajian ini adalah berdasarkan kepada kajian awal terhadap analisis keperluan linguistik bagi model Bahasa Arab Untuk Pelancongan Islam. Kajian ini berasaskan kepada teori Analisis Keperluan Bahasa yang dipelopori oleh Hutchinson dan teori Waters yang mengumpul maklumat mengenai keperluan pelancong Arab dan pengamal industri pelancongan yang terdiri daripada tiga elemen; keperluan (necessities), kekurangan (lacks) dan kehendak (wants). Keperluan adalah untuk mengesan faktor pelancong Arab memilih Malaysia sebagai destinasi pelancongan Islam. Manakala kekurangan meninjau persepsi mengenai penggunaan bahasa Arab dalam sektor pelancongan Islam. Kehendak pula mengkaji kehendak pelancong Arab terhadap penggunaan bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa pelancongan Islam. Kajian ini akhirnya mencadangkan modul bahasa Arab untuk pelancongan Islam kepada Institut Pengajian Tinggi Awam (IPTA) dan Institut Pengajian Tinggi Swasta (IPTS) di Lembah Klang, Malaysia.
