A Career Therapy Model is carried out, and the results are measured by using Career Maturity Inventory or CMI and ACREDA-Drug-Related-Locus of Control or ACREDA-DRLOC. The results of the CMI test showed that there is a significant increase in the maturity of career planning among those who have undergone the career model (experimental group) than the control group. Whereas, for Locus of Control, the test results showed that there were minor changes to the locus of control experienced by the experimental group. It was concluded that the intervention of career model has given positive impacts as the respondents’ career planning clarity are enhanced and the sense of internal-oriented control are instilled. A Career Counseling Model (CCM) was invented to increase the level of career maturity of the trainees in the rehabilitation center. This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of CCM towards the Career Maturity among the trainees. Two sample groups involved labeled as Rehabilitation A (experimental group) and Rehabilitation B (control group) with total of 64 trainees. Both groups underwent pre-test and post-test but only rehabilitation A was given CCM intervention consisting 9-sessions module. The instrument of Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) was used to measure the effectiveness of the CCM while in-depth interview was conducted to identify the effectiveness of the model from trainees’ perspectives. CMI result indicated that there is a positive significant different between the pre-test (11.1563) and post-test (15.6250) within the experimental group. This research has used experimental design, in w hich experimental and control group, were involved. The total of 64 respondents was purposively selected, 32 of each group, were from two different drug rehabilitation centers. Two instruments were used in the experiment which were Career Maturity Scale (CMI) and Tennesse Self-Concept Scales (TSCS), to measure two variables which were career maturity and self-concept, respectively. The hypotheses were tested by using t-test and the mean score. The result showed that there is a positive significant difference of the mean score of CMI between pre-test (11.1563) and post-test (15.6250) of the experimental group, t= -4.874 (p= 0.00 < 0.05). The result also showed that there is a significant positive difference in the mean score of TSCS between pre-test (232.9000) and the post-test (241.5667) of the experimental group, t= -3.373 (p= 0.002 < 0.05). Both results implied that there was a positive impact on respondents’ career maturity and self-concept level after going through the treatment. Therefore, this study has proven the effectiveness of Career Counseling Therapy in developing inmates’ career maturity and self-concept level. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Many interventions had been implemented by the government to helps the client with fully abstinent. However, the number of drug addicts can’t be deemed to be reduced especially for those who are unemployed. Thus, NADA’s Career Counseling Model had been developed to intervened with the unemployment issue among drug addicts to prevent relapse. 25 participants had been involved in this research with the aimed to identify the effectiveness of NADA’s Career Counseling Model through a qualitative approach. 10 sessions had been conducted with directed counseling module which emphasized on the self-concept and career maturity of the former drug addicts. Facilitator's observation, semi-structured written interview, and in-depth interview had been considered as the research finding to determine the effectiveness of the Career Counseling Model in enhancing their self-concept and career maturity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Effectiveness of Reality Group Counseling Therapy in Enhancing Multiple Intelligence among Malaysian Students with the Tendency of Problematic Internet Use (PIU)(Human Resource Management Academic Research Society, 2019) ;Amin Al Haadi Bin Shafie ;Nur Faizah Binti Abdul Kahar ;Mohd Khairul Anuar Bin RahimiRoslee AhmadThis study was aimed to explore the effectiveness of group reality therapy in increasing students’ multiple intelligence, focusing on interpersonal skills. We employed quasi-experimental and pretest – posttest design with control group. The statistical population comprised primary and secondary school students in Malaysia, in which out of 24 students were from primary school and 22 students were from secondary school. Participants were selected purposely by school counselors based on students’ vulnerability of having problematic internet use (PIU). Participants then were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group has undergone counseling session of group reality therapy, while the control group did not receive any intervention. The research tools included Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS 2) and Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire (ICQ-15). MIX ANOVA was used to analyze the data. The research results revealed that reality therapy in group counseling has increased the students’ interpersonal skills (P < 0.05). However, the instruments for measuring it among the drug inmates are still scarce. Therefore, this study examines the reliability and validity of ACREDA Drug- Related Locus of Control among Malaysians. The scale consists of 19 items where 15 of them were translated from DR-LOC Scale by Elizabeth Hall (2001) into Malay language by two counselling experts by using back translation method and the rest 4 were newly constructed ad hoc covering due to the cultural adaption factor. Its validity was examined by sampling the total of 80 clients from the selected drug rehabilitation centers in Malaysia and the face validity was undergone by 2 counselling experts for scale validation. Its reliability revealed the Cronbach`s alpha, 0.823 indicating a high reliability reading while the split- half reliability showed Cronbach's alpha of 0.774 for part 1 and 0.768 for part 2 making this scale reliable and suitable to be used in Malaysian population. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Reminiscence Therapy: Strategies And Techniques For The Elderly In Malaysia(PERKAMA International, 2020)Mohd Khairul Anuar Bin RahimiReminiscence therapy is a counseling approach that is specifically used with the elderly population. It is used as a tools to promote self-awareness and has been found to be effective in reducing depression among elderly. Reminiscence therapy helps the elderly to gain a sense of belongingness and meaning behind their current late-life experiences. This article focuses on how reminiscene therapy can be used on the elderly population, including the various techniques that are unique in therapeutic approach. The article also discusses how reminiscene can be applied in the Malaysian context, specifically on the spiritual aspects of the reminiscence approach. Publication Social Media Addiction and Academic Performance of University Students(USIM Press, 2022) ;Farhana SabriMohd Khairul Anuar Bin RahimiPast studies have shown that social media addiction harms students' academic performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between social media addiction and the academic performance of third-and fourth-year students in the Faculty of Leadership and Management, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. In this study, a quantitative method was utilized, and 248 students were enrolled using stratified random sampling. Respondents completed online questionnaires consisting of two sections: demographic information and the Social Media Addiction Scale (SMAS). The results indicated that respondents had a moderate level of addiction. In addition, the t-test yielded that there is no gender difference in terms of social media addiction, while the Pearson correlation showed that there was no significant relation between social media addiction and academic performance among the respondents. This study provides information for the university and its counsellors to prepare a counselling guidance program for students who are facing problematic social media use. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
