Publication Cognitive Process In High Neuroticism: Incompatible Flexibility In Frontal Brain Region(Ibn Sina Medical College, 2022) ;Nasir Yusoff ;Norrul Aikma MohamedNor Azila NohObjective: This study examines the difference of interference effect in high and low neuroticism. Material and Methods: Low and high groups of neuroticism performed the congruent and incongruent Stroop Colour Word task in the Event Related Potential session. The ERP P300 was extracted and analysed. Results: High neuroticism exhibited larger P300 amplitude than low neuroticism in both congruent and incongruent condition. Conclusion: High neuroticism appraises conflict and non-conflict condition under incompatibility manner driven by prefrontal cortical top–down control. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Development Of Sexual Orientation Scale. A Study On Gay And Lesbian Behaviour From Malaysian Perspective(ResearchTrentz, 2022) ;Roslee Ahmad ;Lokman Mohd Tahir ;Nasir Yusoff ;Hizral Tazzif HishamRahmiwati MarsinunIntroduction: This study aims to develop sexual orientation scale based on trait of Gay and Lesbian gender disorder from Malaysian socio cultures. The basic model of this measurement instrument is based on Fritz Klein's 7 Dimensions of Sexual Orientation (1993). Methods: This study used a mixed method design which is a combination of interview, document analysis and survey. Based on the case study, 8 Gay and Lesbian respondents were selected purposefully. Gay and Lesbian respondents were interviewed using semi-structured interview techniques. While document analysis used past literature, journals, articles, written documents and Sexual Deviant Behavior questionnaires. Interview findings form themes and are combined with document analysis findings to form a measurement instrument. Next, measuring instruments are developed according to standard procedures (Brown, 1983). Results: The construct validity of the measurement instrument was obtained from 2 counseling experts to form the Roslee Gay Sex Orientation Measurement Instrument (ISGR) and the Roslee Lesbian Sex Orientation Measurement Instrument (ISLR). ISGR inventory traits contain 6 sub-constructs namely Instinct, Expression, Nurture, Gay Behaviour, Experience Sexual Deviant Behavior and Spiritual. While the ISLR trait contains 5 sub-constructs namely Instinct, Nurture, Gay Behaviour, Experience Sexual Deviant Behavior and Spiritual. The ISGR instrument pilot test has a reliability value of 0.76 while the ISLR has a reliability value of 0.75. According to Kerlinger (1979) and Mohd Majid (1990), Cronbach's alpha reliability value above 0.6 is good and acceptable. Conclusions: These two measuring instruments can be used by parents as a measuring instrument to prevent children and teenagers from acting Gay and Lesbian. Thus, early intervention steps can be taken to recover children from Gay and Lesbian gender disorder. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Exploring the Impact of Covid-19 on academic motivation and perceived stress among undergraduate students’ in Malaysia(Association of Cell Biology Romania, 2021) ;Roslee Ahmad ;Suhada Md Noor ;Lokman Mohd Tahir ;Nasir Yusoff ;Sapora SiponSalleh AmatThis study aimed to examine the relationship between academic achievement and perceived stress amongst undergraduate students during Covid-19 pandemic. Two variables were involved namely academic achievement and perceived stress. This study involved descriptive and inferential statistics analysis. The study samples involved final year students in a Malaysian public university from 5 different programs of studies. 150 respondents were chosen based on a simple random technique from 250 population amongst undergraduate students. The students are identified as respondents that stay in campus for a period of 3 months during Movement Control Order (MCO). Questionnaires of Academic Motivation Scale (AMS-C28) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) by Vallerand (1992) were used with Cronbach alpha 0.85. The results showed that both genders affected the high level of academic motivation and low level of perceived stress. While based on genders there was no significant difference between academic motivation and perceived stress during movement control order amongst the students. The relationship between academic motivation and perception was also no significantly correlated during faced with these situations. In further research, researchers suggested to obtain a larger sample and involving diversity of programs from Faculties to gain a robust data and this may contribute to a better finding in the future. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Malay traditional games are never a loss: An emotional reflection of malaysians and immigrants in malaysia(Editura Universitatii din Oradea, 2020) ;Nasir Yusoff ;Kuay Hue San ;Rabeta Mohd Salleh ;Rohani Ismail ;Roslee AhmadAudrey AntoineIntroduction-Aims: In the modern days, traditional games have been perceived less preferred than universal games. This study examines the emotional reflection of Malaysians and Immigrants in Malaysia towards Malay traditional games and universal games. Malays (ethnic majority), Malaysian minorities (Chinese and Indian) and immigrants responded to the displayed images of Malay traditional games and universal games using a 9-point rating scale for valence domain of Self-Assessment Manikin. The emotional pleasantness towards Malay traditional games are higher in immigrants than Malaysians. There are emotional similarities between Malays and Malaysian minorities. Socio-cultural factors should be examined in future research to further understand this cultural situation. 2020 Editura Universitatii din Oradea. Publication The Moral Identity Of Youth Who Do Not Smoke: Internalization Predicts Their Preference Towards Smoking And Non-smoking Behaviour(Malaysian Journal of Public Health Medicine, 2023) ;Muaz Haqim Shaharum ;Nasir Yusoff ;Azwa Abdul Aziz ;Kuay Hue San ;Sabarisah HashimRoslee AhmadA mature sense of moral identity influences psycho-social behaviour and leads to less engagement in risk behaviour activities such as smoking. This study aims to identify whether moral identity (internalization, symbolization) and gender are predictive factors of emotional valence in response to smoking and non-smoking images. Youth-aged participants (N=347) viewed a series of smoking and non-smoking images and rated their emotional valence by using the Self-assessment Manikin. They also responded to the internalization and symbolization items on the Moral Identity Scale. The combination of gender and internalization factors explained the significant variance of emotional valence in smoking (12%) and non-smoking (7%) respectively. Participants with low internalization exhibited 2.4 odds to experience high emotional valence from the smoking images than those with high internalization. Internalization also indicated a significant predictor of emotional valence in non-smoking images. Internalization is a dominant trait rather than symbolization in predicting smoking and non-smoking behaviour. Gender interplays with internalization to provide an insightful explanation of emotional variance in smoking and non-smoking behaviour. Implication on public health program among youth-aged group is highlighted.
