Publication A Survey On Achievement Motivation Among University Students(Human Resource Management Academic Research Societ, 2023) ;Abdul Rashid Abdul Aziz ;Amin Al-Haadi Shafie ;Ishaq Ibrahim ;Siti Nubailah Mohd Yusof ;Nur Kareelawati Abd KarimHusin SungkarBeing motivated is a major factor contributing to student excellence in their studies and success in life. Students face various academic pressures from the education system itself or from environmental factors that can impact their level of motivation to achieve excellence. This study explores achievement motivational levels among university students in Malaysia from the four aspects of gender, race, place of residence and academic performance (CGPA). This survey-type study uses a simple random sampling method involving research subjects comprising 200 students (n=200). The research instrument used is the Achievement Motivation Test (AMT) introduced by Abu Bakar Nordin (1995). Data was analyzed using SPSS Version 26 software. An independent sample t-test analysis was used to identify the differences in achievement motivation levels based on the four aspects mentioned. Overall, the study found no difference in the level of student motivation based on gender (t= 0.254, p> 0.05), race (t= 0.922, p> 0.05), place of residence (t= 1.836, p> 0.05), and academic performance (t=1.623, p> 0.05). However, some differences in motivation levels were found between students with low (M = 2.8) and high (M = 3.0) CGPAs. Thus, it can be concluded that motivational levels have a major role in ensuring student success and excellence. This study can form the basis for designing motivational modules or guidelines in public universities and the Ministry of Education for enhancing student achievement. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication "Imam Muda" Reality Show: An Analysis Of Non-verbal Communication Of Young Imam(Elixir Organisation, 2012) ;Ainurliza Mat Rahim ;Mohd Azmir Mohd Nizah ;Norazirawati AhmadNur Kareelawati Abd KarimThis research seeks to examine the nonverbal communication of an influential leader to change mind and behaviour of others, particularly in the field of dakwah. The portrayal of young Imam in the Malaysian reality show “Imam Muda” brings new landscape of muslim socialization process and implies significant values of dakwah. The definition of young Imam and its role as a progressive leader in a modern, multiracial society are described and illustrated in this 10-episode show. The researchers give special attention to nonverbal communication of the winner as this aspect is a determining factor of being a good and influential leader. The contestants may have more or less the same quality in terms of Islamic knowledge, but to gain social influence as an Imam, obviously nonverbal communication talks louder than verbal communication. The silent messages displayed by an individual are more countable and reliable in the eyes of people, as concluded in Mehrabian’s 7%-38%-55% Rule. Five episodes of Imam Muda have been selected and five elements of nonverbal communication have been analysed – kinesics, paralanguage, haptics, appearance and proxemics. A thorough analysis of the top Imam is carried out to see to what extent he uses the nonverbal communication in interpersonal or mass setting that promote him as the most eligible young Imam. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Reporting Fatwa In The Media: Reception And Perception(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2016) ;Suria Hani A. Rahman ;Noor Adzrah Ramle ;Safiyyah Ahmad Sabri ;Nur Kareelawati Abd KarimMazni BuyongNews coverage on Islam in newspaper publications in Malaysia has become part of Malaysian dailies since Islam is the official religion in Malaysia. A special section is allocated for Islamic teaching, forum or letter to Editors for certain days in a week. Perhaps the greatest innovation in coverage on Islam can be seen from how Malaysian reporters frame their stories, which many include the definition of religion, faith and moral choices in the secular world. News on Fatwa has, in short, become a major topic of discussion among Malaysian public once it is highlighted. It became an agenda for a period of time in most of the mainstream newspapers. This paper focuses on how the public perceived the news reporting made on fatwa in the Malaysian newspapers by looking at (i) the source of knowledge of the respondents, (ii) knowledge and understanding on fatwa, and (iii) correlation between level of education and understanding of fatwa news. Random samples of fatwa news on various issues were used as reference for the respondents. Then, a survey on 500 respondents was conducted randomly among Muslim public around Kuala Lumpur and the state of Selangor areas. This has helped in identifying the level of understanding and reactions of the public towards Fatwa issued by the National Fatwa Council of Malaysia. The findings also suggested small numbers of the news coverage on Fatwa has emphasized the significance of the Fatwa which, in the opinion of many far exceeds the important of the fatwa itself. This study may help to strategize the Fatwa Council in convincing the general public on Fatwa through news reporting because there had always been questions of reliability since there is no follow-up by the council to the public regarding Fatwa that has been issued by them. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
