Recognizing false information and verifying sources has become increasingly important as people rely on the Internet and social media for their news. The primary objective of this study is to assess the level of understanding of fake news media literacy among university students. Forty-three Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia students enrolled in the New Media Communication program were polled for this research. This study uses descriptive statistics to analyze the data collected via Google Forms—the results of examining the data generated immediately through a Google form. Young people read the news online but still have limited media literacy when assessing the truth of information. Research suggests that false statement is commonly discovered because young people do not carefully examine online news. Researchers conduct in-depth interviews and studies with this demographic to better understand how young people process information and evaluate its veracity. This research adds to the expanding body of knowledge on student use of social media in Malaysia, especially on how students get their news in light of the results of this pilot study, the main research project will consist of in-depth interviews with students to understand more about their perspectives on how to identify and differentiate between real and fake news. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication “Beer is Haram!” Representation of Islam by Online Newspapers in Malaysia on The Issue of Better Beer Festival & Oktoberfest(Penerbit Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2023) ;Mohd Raqib Sofian ;NurulNadirah Abu Hasan ;Afiqah Mior Kamarulbaid ;Muhd Zaki Mustafa ;Nurul Fathihin Mohd Noor ShahNorsimaa MustaffaThe representation of Islam in the media has been widely discussed by media scholars. In the Malaysian context, Islam is frequently associated with conflicts resulting from political issues or actions taken by religious authorities against any organisation or individual that sparks public debate. The government is also alleged to use Islam as a hegemonic tool to continue dominating the mindset of the lower class by using religion as a political weapon to gain power and maintain the status quo. Newspapers especially those owned by the government have certain ideologies to convey to the general public in order to maintain a specific existing social order. This causes the controversial issues pertaining to Islam to be frequently discussed in the news media in tandem with the vested interest of those owning the newspapers. However, the discourse on issues involving Islam has become more daring after the emergence of digital news portals that enable hegemonic counterarguments to be discussed widely among members in the mentioned medium. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore how Islam and Muslims are represented in online newspapers in Malaysia. Two samples from English-language online newspapers, namely The Star Online and Malaysiakini, were selected. By using quantitative and qualitative content analysis, the findings of this study show that Islam, Islamic political parties, and some Muslims in Malaysia have been represented as extremists and backwards by online newspapers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication A New Efficient Credit Scoring Model For Personal Loan Using Data Mining Technique For Sustainability Management(UMT, 2022) ;Rabihah Md. Sum ;Waidah Ismail ;Zul Hilmi AbdullahNurul Fathihin Mohd Noor ShahCredit scoring models are used in decision-making processes to produce an accurate prediction of an applicant’s creditworthiness. A five-step credit scoring model for personal loans was developed using the seven-step credit scoring model by Siddiqi. It uses real data provided by a bank. This study aims to remove the unnecessary complexity of the credit scoring process. The five-step credit scoring model consists of data massaging, factor analysis, data mining modelling, credit scoring and post-modelling. To ensure accuracy, factors that were significant in determining the creditworthiness of applicants were used in the model, which are the type of installment, age, monthly expenses, job sector, payment method and income-to-finance ratio. Furthermore, by presenting a systematic and structured step for developing a credit scoring model, this study contributed to the research on credit scoring. Based on the findings of this study, banks may use this model to create their own credit scoring model to assess the creditworthiness of personal loan applicants. By managing risks with this model, banks can create a long-term solution for credit system management and aid in the decision-making process - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Pembinaan Pangkalan Data Hadis Lengkap Dalam Bahasa Melayu Untuk Data Raya (Big Data): Kajian Kes Terhadap Cabaran Yang Dihadapi Oleh Kumpulan I-Status Hadis(USIM Press, 2023) ;A. Irwan Santeri Doll Kawaid ;Syed Najihuddin Syed Hassan ;Helimy Aris ;Norzulaili Mohd Ghazali ;Mohd Fadzli Marhusin ;Norhidayah Azman ;Nurul Fathihin Mohd Noor ShahZulhilmi Mohamed NorThe rapid development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has brought significant changes to the information-seeking paradigm among users. This change is observed from the print-based information seeking paradigm to web-based sources seeking. As a result, many parties are giving the creation of digital information priority over conventional information. In the field of Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad), a plethora of digital information has been provided by various parties. Such data, commonly found in various applications, is typically accessed from prepared databases. But the majority of the applications are in other languages. Few Hadith-related applications provide complete data and presentations created in the Malay language. This absence is due to various factors, including a lack of funding, human resources, expertise, and others. This study attempts to discuss the challenges faced by the i-Status Hadith group of USIM (Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia) who are attempting to build a complete Hadith database for digital data purposes. This case study will attempt to examine the problems they encounter and explore potential solutions for resolution. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Students’ perceptions of learning object for3D character modelling lesson(2013-04) ;Syamila-Zakiah A.Wahab ;Abdul-Nasir Zulkifli ;Nurul Fathihin Mohd Noor Shah ;Juliana-Aida Abu Bakar ;Nur Fadziana Faisal MohamedAdzira HusainLecturers have to spend a lot of time to teach their students on the proper techniques of designing and modelling of 3D characters. It is almost impossible for lecturers to cover everything in the class due to the complexities and time-consuming of the procedures and steps. Thus, students have to continue and complete the tasks on their own outside class hours without lecturer’s supervision. Outside the class, students still require some form of instructions that are able to provide them step-by-step procedures of designing and modelling of 3D characters. The instructions must be easy to follow, step-by-step, readily accessible anywhere and anytime. Learning object (LO) is any entity that may be used for learning, education and training. It leads education with the instructional technology towards more effective instructional design, development and delivery of learning content. It provides a new paradigm in the way people teach and learn. In this study, LO has been used for developing students’ 3D design and modelling skills. This paper reports on a perception study among a class of digital arts students of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Polytechnic in Perlis, towards the use of LO in 3D Character Modelling lesson. The purpose of this LO is to help students by providing guidance for them to do their assignments and also to enhance and improve their 3D design and modelling skills. An evaluation on the use of the 3D Character Modelling LO was conducted among 30 students. The results indicate that the students agreed on the Learnablity, Usefulness, Ease of Use, Functionality and Effectiveness, Satisfaction and Outcome/Future Use of the LO. The potential use of 3D Character Modelling LO for teaching and learning is discussed at the end of this paper. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication A Systematic Development of Instructional Design for programming languages: A Constructivist Based Instructional Design Approach(IEEE, 2015) ;Bajbouj, M ;Alwi, NHMNurul Fathihin Mohd Noor ShahOne of the problems in e-learning, as stated in the constructivism theory is to manage the diverse experience levels of students. These varying levels have to be taken into account in designing learning models due to its significant impact on the e-learning system effectiveness. This paper proposed a new instructional design model applied to a website for learning programming language. This model is based on a theoretical foundation of constructivism emphasizing on the learner rather than the instructor. Thus students learn by fitting new information together with what they already had known. The proposed constructivist-based model is composed of five generic processes; it uses a statistical approach to determine the most likely best-suited way to present learning concepts for students with different levels of experience. To overcome out-of-date statistical data, this paper also proposed an adaptive version that can handle students' feedback to adapt accordingly. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
