Translation of Arabic language into Malay is not easy. Translators have to face many challenges and difficulties in producing high-quality target works on par with the source's work. One of the important points in translation is that the translator needs to emphasize on the importance of selecting matching meaning, because the aspect of lexical of a word is different when used in the context of different situations. The meaning of a word is not only affected by its position in a sentence but also depends on the field of knowledge that uses the phrase or the word. Thus, this paper analyzes the matching word for al-khianah in the Malay translation in the novel al-Liss wa al-Kilab by Naguib Mahfouz. This analysis benefits from the Vinay & Darbelnet translation procedure. It is found that the word al-khianah and its derivation are translated with several meanings that correspond to the context of the target language (Malay). It is hoped that such studies will further improve the accuracy of Arabic-Malay translations.

Jihad has a very broad context that encompasses many fields, each with its own definition. The term Jihad is also widely used by Muslims for a positive purpose that is to strive for good to gain the pleasure of God. However, non-Muslims and even some Muslims have a misconception about the true meaning of jihad, conflating it with a violent struggle to uphold one's religious beliefs. In addition, many Muslims and non-Muslims alike give a limited definition of jihad, claiming that it only refers to "Holy War". Therefore, this study will examine the concept of Jihad in general through the views of reliable scholars. In addition, the researcher will specifically examine the merits of Jihad in seeking knowledge based on the arguments of the Quran and Sunnah. Thisstudy will use the library database; of which the descriptive analysis of the text will be used as the main mechanism to analyze the content of the text to collect data related to the concept of Jihad. This analysis takes into account the opinions and views of the scholars that they conclude based on the Quran and Sunnah in their books. This study demonstrates that seeking knowledge is a component of Jihad, which is highly demanded by Islam. Furthermore, the study relating to the concept of Jihad demonstrates that Jihad has a very broad scope, encompassing Jihad against lust, the devil, with property for the sake of Islam, and more

The use of tasks in the language classroom has been one of the current trends in language teaching. According to Edwards and Willis (2005), task-based language teaching (TBLT) provides contexts for activating learner acquisition processes and promotes second language (L2) learning. This paper reports a study that explores a diverse use of tasks in the English language classroom. The aim of the paper is to describe a task designed for low proficiency L2 learners’, and to explore learners’ task performance and their use of the L2 in the tasks. The study took place in a tertiary setting in Malaysia, and involved fourteen L2 learners. The task was designed based on Cummins’ (1981) framework, which focuses on the role of context and cognitive demands in language development. Learners’ worked in pairs, and were observed in the classroom. Each pair of learners’ discussions was audio-recorded, which were later analysed for their L2 use. Results indicated that learners’ L2 use increased when contextual support is high and cognitive demands is low. This suggests that designing tasks with higher order thinking is a challenge for teachers especially when it involves tertiary learners and requires learners to communicate more in their L2.

The aim of this study was to identify the extent to which the Arabic language curriculum for seventh grade is evaluated in light of technological trends from the perspective of Arabic language teachers and department heads in Al Ain City. To achieve the study’s objectives, the researcher used a descriptive survey methodology, developing a questionnaire distributed across six main areas: objectives, content, technology-based teaching strategies, use of technological educational tools, accompanying electronic activities, and electronic assessment. The questionnaire consisted of 78 items, with its validity and reliability confirmed. It was distributed to all members of the study population, including second-cycle Arabic language teachers and department heads in Al Ain City, totaling 89 individuals. A response was received from 76 participants. The results of the statistical analysis indicated that, overall, the evaluation of the seventh-grade Arabic language curriculum in light of technological trends was high from the perspective of Arabic language teachers and department heads in Al Ain City. Similarly, the evaluation scores were high across all areas of the study tool. Consequently, the researcher recommended several suggestions, including: selecting general and specific objectives for the curriculum that align with students’ interests and inclinations, choosing appropriate content, diversifying teaching strategies to account for students’ previous experiences, and fostering their creative writing skills.

This paper discusses the requirements for designing Arabic language modulefor specificpurposes (Tourism). The emergence of the Arabic for specific language has manifested in the late period of this century, and it contains manyissues that can be remedied through continuous study in this field, and the problems such as: the lack of experts in ASP and the lack of materialsand references has beenconsidered a major problem in this field, and no clear curriculum of ASP as wellcontributedon it. This study benefited from the problems and weaknesesin this field to develop and designthe curriculum ofASP(Tourism). This research takes a scientific approach to developthe fundamentalson which it de-pends in the module design requirements byinductive and exploratory study in the design of English for specificpurposes; because this language has preceded the Arabic in this field for more than40 years. Accordingly, the research attempted to design Arabic for specificpurposesmodule, dealt withthe ab-soluteand variblecharacteristics. The students' needs are importance in designing these module, taking into account originality in the specificlanguage field. This research is a pioneer in the development of special Arabiccurricula.
