Publication Addressing Challenges, Unleashing Potentials: Towards Achieving Impactful Islamic Social FinanceThis study examines the domain of Islamic social finance within the framework of addressing prevalent challenges and harnessing potential for significant socio-economic impact. It lies in the acknowledged ability of Islamic social finance mechanisms - zakat, Islamic crowdfunding, Islamic microfinance and waqf - to address poverty and promote economic equality, yet the full realization of these benefits is impeded by numerous challenges. This study therefore identifies the primary issue as understanding these impediments and determining how to effectively navigate them for enhanced Islamic social finance impact. Its aim is to comprehensively analyze the issues, identify unexploited opportunities, and formulate recommendations for a robust and impactful Islamic social finance system. To this end, the study utilizes a library-based approach, conducting an extensive review of relevant literature, including academic articles, books, policy reports, and case studies. It is revealed that governance and regulatory challenges, socio-economic obstacles, and discrepancies in the application and understanding of Islamic social finance mechanisms are the primary hurdles. Potential solutions range from harmonizing regulatory standards, promoting transparency and accountability, to fostering economic empowerment and cross-border collaboration in the Muslim world. This study implies that addressing these challenges and harnessing Islamic social finance's potential can lead to a more effective poverty alleviation strategy, contributing to wealth redistribution, social justice, and sustainable development in line with Islamic principles. This research, therefore, holds substantial implications for policymakers, regulators, and practitioners within the Islamic social finance ecosystem, and suggests the necessity of collaborative, informed efforts to unlock the transformative power of Islamic social finance.15 56 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Forest Offences In Protected Areas: An Appraisal To Maqasid Shariah In Federal And State Government RelationshipForest encroachment and illegal logging are statutorily recognised as forest offences under several forest related acts. This is significant in a way it can mitigate adverse loss of major biodiversity, forest environment quality and forest-dependant livelihood. Forest offences and wildlife crime are found to take place within protected area (i.e., permanent reserve forest (PRF), national parks, sanctuaries) and state land forest. Related forest legislation, statistical data of forest offences, wildlife crimes and literatures are analysed to find gaps of the current statutory protection on forest environment. Forest can be found listed under List II (State List) and List III (Concurrent List) in the Ninth Schedule of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. Due to this fragmentation of jurisdiction of the law-making power, forest is governed by different laws and agencies. Thus, dynamic relationship between state and federal government is significant in ensuring forests that are home for thousands of species of biodiversity, flora and fauna to be safeguarded and protected for future generation to cherish. From the Islamic perspective, the protection of environment in particular forests contribute towards fulfilling Maqasid Shariah. Besides, for the interest of the ummah, Maqasid Shariah encourages good relationship between the federal and state governments.12 39 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

General population control measures should emphasise on understanding the knowledge about the disease and importance of following regulations related to restriction on movement. The aim of this pilot study was to develop a valid, reliable and practical instrument on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice towards Measures for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia. The instrument was developed based on a Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) conceptual framework. The instrument in the form of a questionnaire was distributed online to a sample of 40 adults. The initial questionnaires contained 16, 17 and 14 questions on knowledge, attitude and practices domains, respectively. The content validity was assessed by the experts. The reliability of the instrument was measured using internal consistency reliability, which was measured using alpha coefficient reliability of Cronbach Alpha. The analysis showed that the total Cronbach Alpha value for knowledge, attitude and practice were 0.93, 0.89 and 0.87 respectively. After one item dropped from the attitude domain, the findings of this pilot study show that the instrument is valid and reliable to be used in a further larger study.
