Publication جودة الحياة وعلاقتها بمستوى الطموح والتحصيل في ضوء بعض المتغيرات لدى طالبات كلية الآداب جامعة الامام عبد الرحمن بن فيصلThe study aimed to investigate the relationship between Quality of Life and both Ambition Level and Academic Achievement Level. It also aimed to define differences between Quality-of-Life level and Academic Achievement Level according to Academic Specialization and age. The researchers randomly selected a sample of 399 female students from different academic spectrums. The samples voluntarily answered the Quality-of-Life Scale developed by Kazem and Mansi (2006), and the Ambition Scale constructed by Barakat, (2006). The internal consistency of the scales was tested via the alpha coefficient, and the result of the alpha analysis showed that the scales used were of high quality as the alpha ranged between (0.91-0.90). Results showed that Quality of Life has a medium degree, whereas the Quality of Family Life is higher, but the Quality of Time Management is lower. It also showed that Ambition Level is in a medium degree among the whole sample of the study. Results also showed that there is a relationship between all Quality-of-Life dimensions and Ambition. The highest correlation coefficient was with Quality of Family Life (0,432) and the lowest was with time (0,203). There is also a relation between the Quality-of-Life dimensions and Academic Achievement. Moreover, the study also discovered a statistically significant relationship between the Ambition Level and the Academic Achievement Level. However, the relationship between quality of life and ambition was statistically insignificant, while there was a statistically significant difference in Quality of Life and Ambition Level attributed to the age and gender in favor of older girls.4 4
