Current reality shows an increase in various problems afflicting society. This scenario is worrying and can jeopardise as well negatively affect human wellbeing. Islam emphasises a comprehensive development of human life without neglecting other aspects. One of these types of developments is human development (HD). Understanding the Islamic-based human development (IbHD) should be emphasised in order to implement a sustainable life. Hence, this study intended to identify the IbHD concept as well as its significance. This study employed the document research method for data collection by applying the content analysis approach for analysing data. Findings show that IbHD differs from conventional development (CD) because IbHD uses a development model outlined by the Quran and Sunnah, multi-dimensional, own its unique principles, also playing an important fundamental element in building quality humans in this world and in the afterlife.

Human development is a form of development that needs to be given attention especially when the world facing the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Neglection of the ongoing process of human development when facing the new norms of life at the present time will have a greater adverse impact, not only on certain individuals but on society as a whole. Therefore, the understanding of human development in terms of its aspects must be emphasized so that the development carried out does not set aside the existing aspects that need to be strengthened at all times. Thus, this study aims to identify the aspects of human development and then the analysis is done on the figure of Badiuzzaman Said Nursi. The analysis of human development aspects based on Badiuzzaman Said Nursi's character is done because he was able to develop into an excellent figure despite facing various obstacles and challenges from childhood until his death, growing up in the era of resistance and oppression against Islam, also in wartime and isolation. This study used document research approach for data collection by applying content analysis approach for analyzing data. The results show that the aspects of human development include five things namely; (i) spiritual, (ii) emotional, (iii) intellectual, (iv) physical, and (v) social. The findings also explain that Badiuzzaman Said Nursi places great emphasis on the five aspects of human development despite facing various situations, challenges and obstacles throughout life.

Realiti masa kini menunjukkan peningkatan pelbagai permasalahan yang berlaku dalam masyarakat. Perkara ini amat membimbangkan dan dilihat mampu menggugat, malah memberi kesan-kesan negatif kepada kesejahteraan kehidupan insan. Islam menitikberatkan pembangunan syumul dalam kehidupan insan tanpa mengenepikan sesuatu aspek yang lain. Salah satu pembangunan yang ditekankan adalah pembangunan insan (PI). Kefahaman terhadap konsep pembangunan insan berteraskan Islam (PIBI) khususnya perlu diberi penekanan agar kelestarian hidup dapat dilaksanakan. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji konsep PIBI dan penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan kepada kajian-kajian lepas. Kajian ini menetapkan dua objektif utama iaitu; pertama, mengenalpasti konsep pembangunan insan berteraskan Islam; dan kedua, menganalisis dapatan kajian berdasarkan kajian-kajian lepas yang dirujuk. Bagi mencapai objektif tersebut, kaedah kajian dokumen digunakan bagi pengumpulan data dengan mengaplikasi kaedah analisis kandungan bagi tujuan penganalisisan data. Hasil penelitian mendapati bahawa PIBI adalah berbeza dengan pembangunan lazim (PL) atau konvensional kerana PIBI mengguna pakai model pembangunan yang telah digariskan oleh al-Quran dan alSunnah malah menjadi asas penting dalam membina insan yang berkualiti di dunia dan di akhirat kelak.

In the current era of globalization and technological development, society is seen to be facing various challenges. Along with this development, increasing in various problems occurred especially those related to moral decay. This matter is worrying and is seen to have a negative impact on the well -being of human life. Therefore, understanding the concept of Islamic-based human development (PIBI) needs to be emphasized so that can lead to the harmonious life. Thus, this study aims to identify the worldview of PIBI within a study of past studies. The study hereby sets two main objectives namely, first, to identify and analyze past studies related to Islamic-based human development; and second, construct the worldview of PIBI based on the findings obtained through the referenced studies. To achieve these objectives, document review methods are used for data collection by applying content analysis methods for data analysis. The results found that the worldview of PIBI is characterized by four main things namely, (i) al-Qur’an and al-Sunnah as the main sources; (ii) aspects of PIBI include spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social (RIEJS); (iii) the PIBI process as early as human life and empowerment through various mediums; also (iv) guided by the seven main principles of Islamic-based development (PBI).
