Publication Audit Sosial dan Transformasi Kepemimpinan Islam: Satu Kajian Kes Dalam Parlimen Pagoh, Malaysia(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2017) ;Othman Ab. Rahman ;Sapora SiponMohd Yahya Mohamed ArifinMenjalankan audit sosial akan melibatkan proses mengukur, melapor, memahami dan membaiki kemampuan sosial sesebuah masyarakat. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengukur keperluan pembangunan sosial masyarakat dalam Parlimen Pagoh selain untuk mengukur sejauhmana transformasi kepemimpinan Islam telah berlaku semasa era Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin bin Muhammad. TGHMY merupakan seorang tokoh ulamak berpengaruh dan banyak berjasa dalam pembangunan Agama Islam dan pendidikan kepada masyarakat dalam Parlimen Pagoh dan sekitar dalam Negeri Johor Darul Takzim. Beliau telah mengasaskan Madrasah As-Sa'adiah (aliran Arab) dan Sekolah Menengah Mohd Yassin dalam tahun 1950an. Falsafah Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin menegaskan bahawa kepemimpinan yang masyhur boleh digilap melalui pencapaian darjat iman dan taqwa kepada Allah (swt), dalam erti kata lain muraqabah yakni pendekatan diri kepada Allah (swt). Kepemimpinan Tuan Guru terserlah melalui usaha beliau menyampaikan ajaran Islam kepada anak bangsa, bertujuan untuk mengubah pemikiran orang Melayu pada masa itu agar celik ilmu agama dan membenteras kemunduran pendidikan. Berteraskan pemikiran rasional dan terbuka membuatkan Tuan Guru mengimbangi kepentingan ilmu duniawi dan ukhrawi melalui pendekatan dalam menyantuni kehidupan bermasyarakat melalui penyampaian ilmu agama yang berpandukan Al-Quran dan Al-Hadith serta melalui fahaman Ahl-as Sunnah wal-Jamaah. Model Transformational Leadership telah digunakan untuk mengukur proses transformasi kepemimpinan dengan mengemukakan empat dimensi yang disebut sebagai "the Four I's". Empat dimensi tersebut ialah, Idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation dan individualized consideration. Kesemua dimensi di atas dimiliki oleh Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin. Data berbentuk kualitatif pula diperolehi melalui temubual berfokus, analisis dokumen serta pemerhatian terhadap pelbagai lapisan penduduk dalam Parlimen Pagoh. Maklumat daripada enam elemen keperluan pembangunan masyarakat iaitu, agama, ekonomi, sosial, persekitaran, kesihatan dan pendidikan serta politik telah dianalisa berdasarkan dimensi "the Four I's" transformasi kepemimpinan sejak zaman kepemimpinan Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin hingga zaman kepemimpinan sekarang. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Depression, Anxiety And Stress Among Firefighters At One Of Fire And Rescue Department In Negeri Sembilan: A Case Study(Zes Rokman Resources, 2019) ;Othman Ab. Rahman ;Asiah SufianZuliana KamaruzamanDepression, anxiety and stress is a global major risk factor to worker’s health which leads to unmotivated and less productive worker. The objective of this study is to examine the prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress level at one of the Fire and Rescue Department in Negeri Sembilan. The research also explores the associated factor to depression, anxiety and stress and its coping strategy. Forty-two (42) firefighters was involved as the research subject. Six (6) firefighters have been selected for interview session. Qualitative and quantitative data was collected in this study. The prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress level has been measured using Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS21). The result shows that the mean value for stress is 9.67, depression is 7.76 and anxiety is 8.11. The findings also shows that 18.4% (10 of the respondent) suffer from high level of depression, 31% (13 of the respondent) suffer from high anxiety while, 19% (8 of the respondent) had higher level of stress. This indicates that the firefighter involve in this study suffers depression, anxiety and stress. The data gained from interview sample reveals that amongst the contributing factor for stress, anxiety and depression are workload, negative community feedback and inconsistent order from the superiors. The respondents cope with stress through personal coping, spending time with family and friends, sharing with others and deploys Islamic approach. The findings from this study is useful for Fire and Rescue Department’s higher management, Government and other stakeholders to implement a policy and guideline to eliminate, manage and provide support to firefighter facing psychological issues. Publication The Development Of Transformational Leadership Module Based On Social Audit Conducted In Pagoh, Malaysia(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2020-10-15) ;Othman Ab. Rahman ;Sapora SiponMohd Yahya ArifinSocial audit involve the process of measuring, reporting, understanding and improving the social ability of the society. In view of this, this research was conducted with the aim to develop the Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin Transformational Leadership Module based on the social audit performed in Pagoh Parliament, Johor. Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin was a renowned scholar that has given significant contribution in the development of Islamic education in Johor and Malacca between 1950 and 1975. He has established Madrasah AsSa’adiah (Arabic Stream) and Mohd Yassin Secondary School. Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin’s philosophy stressed that the distinguished leadership can be polished by achieving the rank of faith and piety to Allah (swt), in other words, muraqabah (the approach to Allah (swt)). The leadership of Tuan Guru is evident through his efforts to convey the teachings of Islam to the nation and aims to change the mindset of the Malays to be educated in combating underdevelopment. Based on open and rational thinking, Tuan Guru balanced the interests of secular and religious knowledge through a sympathizing approach in social life through the delivery of religious knowledge based on Al-Quran and Al-Hadith and the ideology of Ahl-as-Sunnah wal Jamaah. Othman et.al (2016) found that Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin’s Transformational Leadership is in the high range with mean score of 10.17. His Transformational Leadership score based on The Four I’s Model (Bass & Avolio, 1994) for idealized influence, inspirational motivation and individualized consideration element is in the high range category. As a continuity of his legacy a Transformational Leadership Module has been developed to train a group of youngsters based on Bass and Avolio Model (1994). This experimental research will measure the impact of Transformational Leadership training based on The Four I’s Model (Bass and Avolio, 1994) and the impact of follow-up programme between the groups. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Effect Early Marriage And Marital Stress Among University Students In USIM(USIM Press, 2021-09-22) ;Nor Hikmah NgesanOthman Ab. RahmanThis study aims to identify the effect of early marriage with marital stress among university students in USIM. Objectives of this study were to determine the effect of early marriage with marital stress among students in USIM, to investigate how the marriage couple students cope with the stress and, to determine the relationship between stress and marriage satisfaction. This research used Stress Scale (PSS) to measure the level of stress and Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS) to measure marriage satisfaction. An interview also being used in this study in order to determine effect of early marriage with marital stress among students in USIM. The data were obtained, analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Statistics Version 25.0 software that involved descriptive statistics analysis, Pallant scale, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The findings of the study indicate that the stress and marriage satisfaction of the respondents are at a moderate level, besides, these two variables have a very strong significance correlation within positive direction (r = 0.61, p < 0.01). Interview result demonstrated that the effects of early marriage put stress on the marriage relationship and coupled with other factors such as family member intervention, financial problems, and commitment of study. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The aim of this study was to measure the extent of Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin leadership transformation. Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin bin Muhammad is a figure of great influence and leadership through education of the public in Johor. He founded the AsSa'adiah Madrasah (Arabic stream school) and Mohd Yassin Secondary School in the 1960s. Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin’s philosophy stressed that the distinguished leadership can be polished by achieving the rank of faith and piety to Allah (swt), in other words, muraqabah (the approach to God (swt)). The leadership of Tuan Guru is evident through his efforts to convey the teachings of Islam to the nation and aims to change the mind-set of the Malays to be literate in religion and science education in combating underdevelopment. Based on open and rational thinking, he balanced the interests of secular and religious knowledge through a sympathizing approach in social life through the delivery of religious knowledge based on Al-Quran and Al-Hadith and the ideology of Ahl-as-Sunnah wal Jamaah. The Transformational Leadership model by Bass and Avolio (1994) was adopted to measure the transformation process by submitting four leadership dimensions referred to as The Four I's. The four dimensions are idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. All of the above dimensions were possessed by Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin. The research qualitative and quantitative data was obtained. Information from the six elements of the society development namely religion, economic, social, environment, education and politics has been analysed based on The Four I's dimensions of transformational leadership since the leadership of Tuan Guru Haji Mohd Yassin to the leadership of his successors. RahmanYouth adulthood need a balanced personality to succeed in the world and hereafter. Psychology of da'wah is one of the factor can give impact on balanced personality for young adulthood. Psychology of da’wah and balance personality are dynamic internal systems which form an individual's pattern of action, thought and feeling. Youth adulthood should practice moderate Islamic lifestyle, so that the knowledge gained is competent for the purpose to achieve the pleasure of Allah. Thus, the objective of this study is to examine the impact psychology da’wah on balanced personality among young adult higher education in Malaysia. The questionnaire was distributed to 490 students and the data was analysed using SMART-PLS software. As a result, the finding showed there is significant impact of the psychology da’wah on balanced personality. It shows that, psychology Da’wah approach can be applied in counselling in managing psychological problems especially related to the personality of Muslim students. Publication The Relationship Between Parenting Style And Self Concept(Journal of Education and Social Science, 2017) ;Othman Ab. Rahman ;Norsyahima Nadira ShahrinZuliana KamaruzamanThe aimed of this research is to find out the relationship between parenting style and adolescent self-concept. A group of seventy-four (74) students from Tamhidi Program of Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM) was selected as the sample through simple random method. They were given with two (2) sets of questionnaire; Tennessee Self Concept: 2 (TSCS: 2) by Fitz & Warrant (1996) and Baumrind Parenting Topology Index (BPTI) in order to obtain the parenting style and self-concept data. The results was analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package of Science Social) version 20. Pearson correlation analysis shows that there is negative correlation between permissive parenting style and respondent self-concept (r=-0.203). The result also shows that there's no correlation between authoritarian parenting style and the respondent's self-concept (r=0.036). However the result shows that there is significant correlation between authoritative parenting style and the respondent's self-concept (r=0.274). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Keluarga juga dapat membentuk sahsiah dan peribadi ahlinya sehingga menjadi individu yang cemerlang dan terkenal. Oleh itu tidak hairan apabila kita mendengar idaman seseorang untuk memiliki sebuah keluarga yang bahagia. Mereka tidak mahu keluarga yang bermasalah hingga berlarutan tanpa jalan penyelesaian. Mengapakan sesebuah keluarga itu bermasalah? Banyak faktor yang boleh membawa kepada sebuah keluarga itu bermasalah. Antara faktornya ialah masalah kepimpinan keluarga tersebut.Bila dibincangkan mengenai ketua keluarga, kita tidak boleh menolak peranan seorang bapa sebagai pemimpin atau ketua keluarga. Namun ada juga keluarga yang dipimpin oleh seorang wanita atau ibu apabila suaminya telah meninggal dunia atau diceraikan. Kejayaan dun keharmonian sesebuah keluarga berkait rapat dengan kualiti kepimpinan ketua keluarga tersebut. Justeru itu, Islam meletakkan bapa sebagai pemimpin dun ketua dalam sesebuah keluarga yang bertanggungjawab mempastikan agar mereka yang berada di bawah jagaannya berada dalam keadaan baik serta mengikut landasan yang diredhai oleh Allah swt. Fenomena hari ini menyaksikan banyak gejala sosial yang merosakkan kehidupan anak-anak dan remaja akibat dari kegagalan kepimpinan keluarga dalam mempraktikkan "Qudwah Hasanah" dalam keluarga mereka. Sungguhpun ibu bapa telah didedahkan dengan garis panduan pendekatan dalam kepimpinan keluarga bahagia, namun pelaksanaan kepada pendekatan tersebut telah menimbulkan implikasi positif juga negatif kepada ahli keluarga. Justeru itu isu kepimpinan sebuah keluarga seharusnya menjadi topik perbincangan berterusan kerana ia sentiasa berkembang mengikut arus perubahan kehidupan manusia.
