Their vulnerability to higher rates of stressors has a negative impact on them as students as well as on their lives. This study investigates the level of academic stress and depression and the relationship between them among medical students at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Questionnaires were given to 133 medical students at USIM comprising 3 sections covering demographic information, an academic stress inventory (SSI), and the Beck depression inventory (BDI). An analysis using Pearson’s correlation coefficient found a positive and significant relationship between the two variables. This study provides information to counselors on the level of academic stress and depression among students, especially medical students. It also aims to increase awareness among university authorities and parents on the importance of maintaining the mental health of students and children. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Islam menggariskan panduan tentang batas pergaulan antara lelaki dan perempuan. Mereka perlu menjaga akhlak percintaan dan memiliki rasa malu untuk melakukan sesuatu yang tidak baik. Akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu menjaga pelakunya dari perbuatan-perbuatan yang tidak sesuai dengan ajaran agama, undang-undang atau adab masyarakat. Sampel yang terlibat dalam kajian ini adalah 260 pelajar dari dua Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam di Selangor dan Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk melihat samada terdapat hubungan antara akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu. Kaedah kajian ini adalah kuantitatif menggunakan Instrumen Akhlak Percintaan dan Inventori Emosi Moral Muslim. Seseorang yang menjaga akhlak dalam percintaan memiliki rasa malu yang tinggi. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu. Implikasi kajian ini adalah berkaitan dengan pemahaman tentang akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu dari perspektif Islam amat relevan dalam menangani masalah sosial yang berakar dari salah faham tentang konsep cinta. Publication Assessment on gadgets addiction and its relation to sexual addiction behavior among undergraduate students(Hampstead Psychological Associates, 2020) ;Roslee Ahmad ;Mohamad Syafiq Hassan ;Mohd Nasir Che Mohd Yusoff ;Rezki Perdani SawaiMuhamad Khairi MahyuddinThis study aims to examine the gadgets addiction and sexual addiction behaviour among undergraduate students in one of public university in Malaysia. This study was conducted among 201 students consist of 94 male adolescents and 107 female adolescents from random sample selection. Their ages range were 23-25 years old from 3 different programs. The instruments were adapted from The Internet Addiction Test created by Young (1998) and Psychosocial and Individual Compulsive Sexual Behavior created by Efrati and Mikulincer (2018) with reliability Cronbach alpha of 0.65. Data collected were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. Statistic descriptive and inferential with analysis t-test and correlation Pearson were used to analyse the data. Results showed there is significant different between gadgets addiction behaviour among adolescents based on gender but no significant different between sexual addiction behaviour among them. Finding also showed a negative correlation between gadgets addiction and sexual addiction behavior among adolescents. This indicates that the effect of gadgets addiction toward sexual addiction behavior is in moderate level. Researcher believe there are other factors such as peers influence, environment factors and maturity of ages plays a significant variables that lead adolescents to involve in this misbehaviour problems. Researcher also recommends in future studies to get a larger sample across multiethnic and culture, parents background, level of education and status socioeconomic factor should be considered as significant variables to gain better findings. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Association Between Social Media Use And Depression Among University Students(USIM Press, 2021-09) ;Hidayah Sallehuddin ;Rezki Perdani Sawai ;Abdul Rashid Abdul AzizMohd Faizal KasmaniThe most widely used social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have changed the way of communication between people especially amongst youth. It has been identified that individuals who spent more time online experienced more symptoms of depression. Therefore, this study was done to identify the level of depression and to find out the relationship between social media and depression among undergraduate students. This is a quantitative study using a survey method involving 150 students of local university in Malaysia. The questionnaire consists of three sections which are demographic information, Social Media Addiction Scale-Student Form (SMAS-SF) and Beck Depression Inventory 2nd Edition (BDI-II). The finding indicates that majority of the respondents (44% ) have minimal depression while only 13.3% has severe depression. Pearson correlation test has been employed to investigate the relationship between social media and depression. The result showed that there is a correlation between social media and depression, r=0.199, p=<0.01. In conclusion, it depicts that social media is significantly related and have positive relationship to depression among students. This study provides valuable information for counsellors and lecturers to identify students who have suffered from depression related to social media use and help in managing the students. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Ini berdasarkan kepada statistik pembuangan bayi di Malaysia yang dikeluarkan oleh Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) yang mana dianggarkan bagi tempoh 2011 hingga 2012, terdapat sebanyak 187 kes pembuangan bayi dilaporkan di Malaysia manakala 89 kes direkodkan pada tahun 2012. Artikel ini akan meneliti hak dan kedudukan anak-anak yang dibuang berdasarkan kepada undang-undang. Metodologi kajian adalah melalui analisa dokumen iaitu dengan menganalisa peruntukan-peruntukan akta yang berkaitan selain daripada merujuk data PDRM dan konvensyen perjanjian dan keratin akhbar. Publication The Concept of Love for Knowledge and Excellent Muslims in Transforming Human Capital: An Analysis on Gender Differences(UKM Press, 2018) ;Nur Hidayah Mohd Abd Malik ;Syaidatun Nazirah Abu Zahrin ;Rezki Perdani SawaiFariza Md ShamThe study investigated the gender differences among Muslims’ university students in the aspect of Love for Knowledge, the characteristics of Excellent Muslims and Transformation of Human Capital based on a sample of 600 university students surveyed in Malaysia. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data for the study were collected by using structured questionnaire. Inferential statistics of t-test was used to analyze data on gender differences. The findings revealed that there were no gender differences exist between male and female on the features of Love for Knowledge, Characteristics of Excellent Muslims and Transformation of Human Capital. Publication Content Validity Of The Islamic Emotional Regulation Module(Human Resource Management Academic Research Society, 2022) ;Mohd Izwan Mahmud ;Joki Perdani Sawai ;Rezki Perdani Sawai ;Masturina MahazirShamsuritawati SharifThis study aimed to assess the content validity of the Islamic Emotional Regulation Module towards the mental wellbeing of youth. This module has five main submodules, namely the emotional regulation submodule of sadness, anger, guilt, shame and fear. This module has gone through content validation involving five experts in the fields of Islamic thought, moral psychology and adolescent counseling. Data evaluation by experts were analyzed using Content Validity Index (CVI). The results of the evaluation by experts showed that all modules tested had a high content validity coefficient of between .770 to .810 (> .70). The results of the study concluded that all submodules of the Islamic Emotional Regulation Module have high content validity and a pilot study should be conducted to determine the reliability of the modules before being used in the experimental study. It is hoped that this developed module can help the youths in regulating their emotions as well as becoming useful human beings. An individual’s ability to regulate emotions can help them manage and respond effectively to the emotional experiences they experience. The suggestion follow up study is to conduct a pilot study to determine the reliability of the module and test the effectiveness of the module in a larger population. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Desensitisasi Bersistem (CBT-SD) Terhadap Simptomatologi PTSD Mangsa Buli: Satu Kajian Kes(USIM Press, 2021) ;Siti Fadhlina Mustapa Kamal ;Syed Mohamad Syed AbdullahRezki Perdani SawaiBullying not only has a significant influence on victims' physical and emotional well-being, but they are also reported to experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) such as nightmares, intrusive thoughts and emotions of hopelessness and powerlessness. The symptomatology of untreated PTSD exposes victims to other psychological issues such as substance abuse, depersonalization and suicide. This case study was conducted to identify the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Systematic Desensitization (CBT-SD), a counseling intervention for reducing symptomatology of PTSD. He was diagnosed with clinically severe symptomatology of PTSD (T> 65) by using the Detailed Assessment of Posttraumatic Stress (DAPS) (Briere, 2001). The treatment planning using CBT-SD technique was constructed aimed at answering the research questions. The results indicate a decrease in the symptomatology of PTSD and other psychological issues, particularly on the scales of dissociation and suicide. Reducing PTSD symptoms has a favourable impact on the client’s cognitive, emotional and behavioural functioning, as seen by his improved personal functioning in his daily life. Hence, prevention and early rehabilitation through counseling interventions are crucial in aiding victims of bullying achieve psychological balance. Publication Development and Validation of Muslim Moral Emotions Inventory (MMEI)(Human Resource Management Academic Research Society, 2021) ;Rezki Perdani Sawai ;Sidek Mohd Noah ;Abdul Rashid Bin Abdul Aziz ;Joki Perdani SawaiRoslee Bin AhmadThe increased number of criminal offenses statistics among adolescents in Malaysia is alarming. This is believed to be rooted from the reduce of moral emotions such as shame and guilt in themselves. Therefore, this study presents the results of an exploratory factor analysis of the Muslim Moral Emotions Inventory (MMEI), a self-report measure of moral emotions of shame and guilt to overcome this issue. This instrument was administered to a sample of Malaysian-Muslims youth (n = 640) to determine the factor structure and internal reliability of these scales. The analysis showed that 18 items factored around four factors of perceived Guilt subscales includes God consciousness, Care for Others, Fear of Punishment and Forgiveness. Another 18 items factored around five factors of perceived Shame subscales include Positive Speech, Sensitive Towards Others Judgment, Safeguarding Chastity, Guarding One’s View and Modest Self-presentation. The Shame scale accounted for 54.48% of\the variance, while the Guilt scale accounted for 56.10% of the variance. The results of showed that the factor structure of the two moral emotions scales of the MMEI was significantly measured with the current sample of Muslims youth. Cronbach alpha, split-half coefficients and item analysis verified the reliability of instrument. The significance of adaptive shame and guilt as a unique contributor to psychological well-being and applications for the MMEI in assessment and outcome research among youth are discussed. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Students are the party that the teacher focuses on to be educated. Of course, they have perceptions of teacher competence. This study aims to develop and validate a scale of perceptions of teacher competency. The instrument consists of four aspects: pedagogic, professional, personality, and social. This study uses Rasch analysis to test the construct validity of the teacher's competency perception scale. The construct validity test involved 400 students. Data analysis using WINSTEPS Rasch Software provides information about respondents' quality and instruments, easy and difficult items for respondents to agree on, fit order items, and unidimensionality. The results of the application of Rasch analysis showed that the teacher's competency perception scale is good, precise, and has item conformity with the model. The teacher competency perception scale is a reliable and valid tool to measure students' level of peace accurately. Despite of privileges having multiple abilities, GTS often faces challenges in identifying and pursuing a career path that aligns with their diverse interests and abilities which referred to as multipotentiality. Various related studies have been conducted by previous researchers, both quantitatively and qualitatively, but less reference has been made to intervention studies on module development. Hence, this research is attended to develop a module in assisting GTS with their career decision. The basic foundation in developing this module are based on two theories namely Holland RIASEC Theory (1997) and Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence (1999). The sample of this study consist of GTS from one of the Gifted High School in Negeri Sembilan. This study will adopt the design and development research (DDR) and guided by the ADDIE model. Phases in ADDIE Model involved in this research are need analysis, design phase, development phase, implementation phase and evaluation phase. This module will be conducted by falitators in assisting students in making career decisions. The article founds that these Muslim scholars affirms the existence of inner dimension of good deeds, and therefore, good deeds comprise of both inner and outer dimension. Both of these dimensions need to be observed accordingly. Without systematic and thorough support and aid from the government or charity groups, it is extremely challenging for these parents to give the finest care and nurture for their exceptional children. On the basis of the current module, it was determined that there is a deficit in the area of emotional regulation for parents of disabled children. For the establishment of a prosperous family, this paper will stress the initial debate regarding the emotional regulation of parents of disadvantaged children based on the Sunnah of the Prophet. Correct emotional regulation is essential for ensuring that parents can manage their emotions in order to prevent incorrect acts while raising children with special needs. This is due to the fact that the majority of incidents of neglect and abuse of children with disabilities are caused by a lack of parental emotional management skills. This article seeks to achieve an amount of objectives, namely: 1. issues and challenges of families with impaired children, 2. emotional regulation and its significance in managing challenged children, and 3. emotional regulation solutions for parenting disabled children in accordance with Islam. This work is based on library research using journal articles that highlight the most recent concerns and challenges experienced by parents with disabled children. In addition, references are made to literature on emotional regulation and its significance. The verses of the Quran and the hadith of the Prophet SAW were also studied in order to acquire Islamic instruction for the most effective emotional regulation, particularly in relation to the emotional strain felt by the worried parents. This article is seen crucial in offering parents with information and skills on emotional regulation tactics for parenting children with special needs. This study describes the history of the development of the Covid-19 pandemic for better understanding of its outbreak, explains emotion, mental and spiritual regulation processes during and after Covid-19, and discusses the importance of emotion regulation in improving mental health. This study also provides the mechanisms to help individuals regulate their mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions post Covid-19. Emotional, mental, and spiritual regulation are important in overcoming the challenges during and following the Covid-19 pandemic. This study serves as a guidance for policy makers, leaders, academics and higher education staff in preparing action plans and interventions to help individuals in regulating their emotion, mental and spiritual health following the foreseeable end of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study employs a qualitative format using semi-structured interviews with four recovering drug users. Several themes were identified and discussed in relation to the literature on family support of people in recovery. However, they are unable to do so in their regular classes even in their special gifted group. Some of the challenges faced by gifted and talented students are teachers’ stigma, negative peer attitudes, difficulty understanding others, problems related to perfectionism, as well as impatience and intolerance. Thus, there is a dire need to cater the social and emotional issues of these students. Counselors may be unaware and unable to respond to these concerns because they are not well-trained to counsel this unique population. This study was conducted toward 120 college students’ based on random sampling method. These instruments were adapted from Acceptance and Action Questionnaire - Stigma (AAQS) questionnaire developed by Levin et al. (2014). Heterosexual Attitudes Towards Homosexuality (HATH) Scale developed by Larsen et al. (1980) with Cronbach alpha was 0.84. Data collected were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The analysis used statistic inference using correlation and t-test. Results showed there were significant correlation between acceptance and attitude toward LGBT community among college students and a significant relationship between acceptance and attitude based on gender among students. This also shows although government policies and laws relating to religion limit social, religious and gender equality in Malaysia, however at the college level, students are open, tolerant and accepting of these groups in the society. Therefore, it is recommended that further studies should be carried out among young people of various races, namely Malays, Chinese and Indians as the younger generation is more open-minded and provide services and facilities to better serve this group. In addition, the acceptance and attitudes of LGBT individuals attending primary and secondary schools should be helped to ensure that LGBT groups are not excluded from the national education system. Kemahiran kaunseling dalam perhubungan terapeutik antara kaunselor dan klien adalah sangat penting dalam mendorong perubahan diri klien. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan meneroka elemen terapeutik dalam kaunseling kelompok yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan kendiri. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian kualitatif menerusi analisis kandungan terhadap artikel-artikel yang telah diterbitkan dalam pangkalan data seperti Scopus, Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) dan Science Direct. Sebanyak 45 artikel telah dipilih. Kajian ini telah mendapati bahawa terdapat lima faktor utama terapeutik yang membawa kepada kesejahteraan diri termasuklah sikap altruisme dan membantu, kemahiran insaniah, katarsis jiwa, kejeleketan kelompok dan pengkayaan maklumat serta nilai. The purposes of this study are to investigate the relationship between financial strain and financial management practices, and marital satisfaction and marital stability. 278 married individuals who were within 5 years of marriage were involved in this study. The In- Charge Financial Distress/Financial Well-Being (IFDFW) Scale, Financial Management Behavior Scale (FMBS), Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale (KMSS) and Marital Instability Index (MII) were used for data collection. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation. The findings show that there was significant relationship between financial strain, financial management practices, marital satisfaction, marital stability, financial management practices and marital satisfaction. His mentalconceptionofthesoulwassowell-developedthatitreceivedmuchattentionandappreciationfromlaterIslamic philosophers such as al-Ghazāli, Fakhruddin al-Rāzi, Ibn Rushd and Western scholars. Thisarticle explores Ibn Sinā's concept of the soul and its substance in Islamic education. The methodologyemployed is a literature review together with qualitative research using exploratory, descriptive, andanalyticalapproaches.IbnSināarguedthatthesoulisalivingspiritualsubstanceinspiringthebodyandformstheinfrastructureforacquiringknowledgeandtransformingitinreallife.Incontrasttothebody,the soul is immaterial and eternal. Islamic education cannot be separated from the psychologicalelements elucidated by Ibn Sinā and must incorporate relevant psychological aspects in order to fullydevelop thepotentialof studentstowardsbecoming exemplary human beings(insān kāmil)
