Kajian kepimpinan menerusi kebanyakan sorotan kepustakaan memaparkan perkembangan yang memerlukan penyelidikan lanjutan. Ini kerana walaupun topik kepimpinan hangat diperbincangkan oleh penyelidik dalam pelbagai disiplin ilmu, ianya masih belum menemukan satu kesimpulan yang konkrit. Salah satu bidang keutamaannya ialah kepimpinan dalam konteks budaya Islam. Kepimpinan dalam Islam adalah unik, dinamik, malah merentasi masa, zaman serta budaya. Ini kerana dalam tamadun tradisional dan moden, Islam tetap diiktiraf sebagai satu sistem cara hidup (al-Din) komprehensifyang merangkumi pelbagai aspek kehidupan. Buktinya, bermula dengan siri-siri wacana kepimpinan dari perspektif Islam yang dibahaskan, akhirnya membentuk gagasan kepimpinan Islam yang tersendiri. Namun demikian, gagasan kepimpinan Islam termasuk kepimpinan sedia ada sedang menghadapi cabaran dunia globalisasi dipelbagai peringkat dalam usaha mempertingkatkan kualiti kemanusiaan dan tamadun ke arah yang lebih sempurna. Kemunculan beberapa istilah seperti pengurusan saintifik, pengurusan kualiti, produktiviti, kreativiti, inovasi dan sebagainya sedikit sebanyak memberi impak terhadap sistem kepimpinan itu sendiri. Justeru, tulisan ini cuba menganalisis kepimpinan dalam Islam dari kaca mata kualiti dun produktiviti dengan merujuk kepada sumber autentik dalam Islam serta sorotan kepustakaan yang berkaitan. Ini menunjukkan bahawa Islam mempunyaipendekatan unikdalam mengkaji hubungkait di antara aspek kepimpinan, kualiti dan produktiviti, sekaligus tidak menajikan kepentingan elemen-elemen pembaharuan dan penambahbaikan bagi menjamin kesejahteraan manusia dun persekitarannya.

The role of mosque library in wide-spreading and engraft Moslem's teaching is very strategic. Most of major and important library in the past like Baitul Hikmah in Baghdad, Ibn Suwar's library in Basrah, Darul Hikmah in Kairo, represent the message that the intelligence o f Moslems in the time, is directly proportional with the quality of its information institute, in this context, the library itself The Indonesian Islamic Library Center (PPII) is an information institute, which is become the center of Islamic literation in Indonesia and to be under,for 643.843 library mosques. The aim of this study is to understand the purpose of the PPII itself for wide-spreading and developing the Islamic literation in Indonesia such as books, magazines, journals, reports, and online portals. The design used for this study is descriptive-longitudinal. The collectable data including the history of PPII, services and literation works, also the development of Indonesian literation from 19 70 until 201 0. The result shows that the existence of PPII improving the quality and quantity of Islamic literarion in Indonesia. PPII is also become the public representation,for Islamic literation development in Indonesia.

Kota Depok merupakan salah satu kota di Indonesia yang dicanangkan sebagai kota layak anak. Di balik program pencanangan tersebut, ternyata masih banyak anak-anak jalanan yang bertebaran di berbagai tempat. Anak-anak jalanan tersebut sering dan banyak terlihat di berbagai pusat perbelanjaan, terminal, stasiun, dan tempat-tempat keramaian lainnya, termasuk di Kampus Universitas Indonesia. Banyak sekali aktivitas yang mereka lakukan setiap harinya, ada yang bejualan koran, berjualan tisu, hingga berjualan makanan. Selain itu, masih banyak kasus kekerasan yang dilakukan terhadap anak dan tindakan-tindakan kriminal yang dilakukan oleh anak. Oleh karena itu, masih diperlukan usaha keras untuk mewujudkan Kota Depok sebagai kota layak anak. Chamber of innovation merupakan sarana bagi anak jalanan untuk belajar dan berinovasi dalam berbagai bidang keterampilan. Di dalam program pendidikan ini, anak-anak jalanan akan diajari bagaimana cara membuat kerajinan khususnya yang terbuat dari bahan bekas, seperti membuat tempat pensil, tempat tisu, dan vas bunga dari bubur kertas. Kegiatan lain adalah pengajaran di luar kelas untuk berinteraksi dengan masyarakat sebagaimana mestinya. Selain itu, ada kegiatan outbond anak jalanan juga menjadi sarana pembinaan karakter seorang anak. Melalui kegiatan outbond tersebut, anak-anak jalanan juga tidak akan melewatkan usia mereka untuk bergaul dan memanfaatkan waktu sebagimana anak-anak pada umumnya. Selain pendidikan dan pemberian keterampilan, Chamber of Innovation juga memberikan pengawasan perkembangan seorang anak, baik dari segi kemampuan maupun kepribadian. Diharapkan melalui kegiatan Chamber of Innovation ini tindakan kekerasan, eksploitasi, dan kriminalitas yang dilakukan oleh anak akan semakin berkurang. Jika kegiata ini berhasil, program perencanaan Kota Depok sebagai kota layak anak dapat tenwujud dengan semestinya.

The purpose of this research is to explore and examine the similarities and differences between the concepts of Servant Leadership (S-L) and Islamic Leadership (I-L) through identifying the characteristics of both concepts as represented in the literature. Data,for analysis were collected from three major secondary sources: the literature of Islamic Leadership (I-L), Servant Leadership (S-L), and General Leadership (G-L). The result of an approach based on hermeneutics and content analysis revealed that the concept of Servant Leadership (S-L) accords with Islamic Leadership (I-L) particularly in the aspect of how both of the concepts focus on the aspect ethical leadership. Moreover; based on the nineteen clusters of Islamic Leadership (I-L) designed to examine the ten characteristics of Servant Leadership (S-L) in the open and axial coding process, this research found that the ten characteristics of S-L accord with the nineteen clusters, except in five clusters: justice and equity; profit-orientation; moderation and balance; spiritual, religious, faith in God and piety; and coerciveness under certain circumstances with limitations. The differences have suggested that in general the literature of Servant Leadership (S-L) should be enriched with more ideas pertaining to other aspects of leadership, for example Islamic Leadership (I-L) besides those to do with organisational leadership, while the literature of Islamic Leadership (I-L) should be enriched with more information pertaining to contemporary leadership processes and contexts.

The role and importance of leadership in organizations have continued to be emphasized in the literature. The review of the literature however indicates not much research attention has been devoted to examine leadership in takaful firms. A review of previous studies suggests limited research have attempted to investigate leadership styles found in the takaful firms, particularly in the Malaysian context. This study specifically attempted to examine the leadership styles among Takaful Agency Leaders. By using the ancestral leadership questionnaire, the study collected data from 196 respondents. The results of the analyzed data indicate that the Takaful Agency Leaders in the study adopted six leadership styles that include; the warrior; the scout, the diploma, the arbiter; the manager and the teacher.

Man, who is history has often suffered from injustice and oppression, has always dreamed of equality locally; as well as globally. Indeed, people have been struggled for it in bygone, but usually found it only in the boob of philosophers. In relation to this, it can be observed that it was like a mirage which vanishes as you approach it. In fact, it is undeniably true that women also face a greater discrimination in employment, and proactive initiatives must be taken to ensure that they do not persistently to be exploited. In relation to this, spec$c steps should be taken to help women workers in struggling for their rights respectively. Thus, this paper is aimed at analyzing the issue of gender discrimination at the workplace; focusing.from the international legal framework; as well as ,from the Islamic approach. This paper also shall look into the roles and.functions of International Labor Organization (ILO) as the "guardian" of the workers; with regards to their protection of rights of women and welfare holistically. It is hoped that throughout this paper; a better understanding could be achieved pertaining to the sign@cant and unique position of women as a part of the vital component of organizational success respectively.

The advancement of societies is dependent on the knowledge that they discover, generate, accumulate and share among the members. Knowledge does not come by it sex there should be groups of trained individuals to seek, uncover and package the knowledge to be utilized by the society for social, economic as well a spiritual advancement. History has recorded that there were many Muslim scholars who had very successfully discovered the many disciplines of knowledge that became the milestones for further research and development. This paper will discuss on why we should develop young scholars, example of two institutions working along this idea, the skills need to be acquired by the young researchers, and the support mechanisms that will expedite the development of young researchers. With the resurgence of Islam worldwide, it is more pressing to address the gap in,fulfilling the needs of the Muslim ummah with regard to overall societal development and well-being.

Supervision role is believed to have a significant impact on subordinates' job satisfaction. In this sense, the study is aimed to investigate the satisfaction of academics with the role of supervision of their leaders in the university. The research took the,form of semi-structured interviews and focus group interviews with seventeen interviewees comprised of sixteen academics from three public universities and a former Minister of Higher Education Ministry of Malaysia. The results indicated that there were mixed responses given by all the interview respondents in regards to their satisfaction with supervision. Some issues that instigated dissatisfaction such as fairness and consideration practised by management people, management strategy and leadership, and lack of consultation, .freedom and authority were discussed. The implications of the findings for management- particularly those in public higher education institutions- are discussed.

This decade, the world's Muslim population rose sharply. Today, Muslim population of the world has reached more than 1.5 billion people. This amount stated that 23% of world population embraced the religion of Islam. However although the Muslim population has increased significantly, the potential for Muslims themselves have not been maximized. Economic sectors, technology, and science is still held by non-Islamic. To maximize the potential of the Muslim ummah, we need a place to maximize it. Because of that, Muslim innovation school can be a solution to maximize Muslim potential especially young Muslim potential. The purposes of this Muslim innovation school are to sharpen young Muslim potential, to increase the amount of innovator, and to collect every generation of young Muslims who are experts in the,field of technology, science and economics to gather in one place to develop their ideas and expand their network across the Muslim world. Different with other school, learning system in this school not only having,focus with academic but also non academic. Muslim innovation school will developed with leadership and soft skills development because this school has aims to make a lot of Muslim innovators with good character and good capability.

The study examines on innovating "spiritually competent" counselors and its issues and concerns. It also deals on how spirituality and religiosity can be integrated into clinical practice and further used for personal spiritual growth. This study is based on a qualitative research, looking into the importance of spiritual and/or religious beliefs to the physical and mental health of counselors and clients. Discussions of the paper will also consider how counselors should be creative and innovative in handling conflicts between conventional social values and laws and religious beliefs. The importance of training and curriculum and a more standardization of the curricular experiences for counseling students are warranted in preparing them as "spiritually competent" counselors.

This study aimed to assess if Islamic values can be integrated in the teaching of Technology and Home Economics (T.H.E.) in the Secondary schools ofLana0 del Sur and Marawi City. It looked into the profile and competencies of the T.H.E. teachers; the extent of Islamic integration in teaching T.H.E. and problems met in teaching the subject. The findings can be made as basis for an enhancement program for the curriculum for the Muslim populace in this area. This subject is considered as "Laboratory of Life" in the basic education curriculum. This study is a descriptive-correlation type of research with 432 respondents. From the findings, it can be concluded that teachers of TH.E. are competent based on their profiles. Moreover; data shows that students often practice Islamic values in activities in Home Economics, Industrial Arts and Entrepreneurship but seldom in Agricultural/ Fishery Arts. Thus, it can be inferred that Islamic values can easily fit and be integrated in T.H.E lessons. This implies that although the schools in this area are following the prescribed curriculum by the Department of Education, teachings of Islamic values can be integrated in the curriculum. It is hereby recommended that curriculum makers/school administrators and teachers should review the curriculum giving way for the integration of Islamic values in teaching T.H.E among the schools in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Kajian ini berusaha untuk mengenal pasti tentang kedudukan kadi syarie di selatan Thailand dan Isu-isu keluarga Islam yang berkaitan dengan wali dan poligami serta peranan kadi syarie dalam menyelesaikan isu-isu tersebut. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif maka penulis menggunakan metode kajian kepustakaan dan dibantu oleh kajian lapangan. Kajian lapangan melalui wawancara tokoh-tokoh agama yang terdiri daripada kadi syarie dan ahli jawatankuasa Majlis Agama Islam dengan mengguna kaedah Purposive Sampling. Hasil kajian ini dapat mengenalpasti bahawa kedudukan kadi syarie diiktiraf oleh syarak dan Akta Pentadbiran Institusi Agama Tahun 1946 (fasal 10) sementara di sisi pegawai di pejabat kerajaan masih dipersoalkan. Masalah isu-isu keluarga Islam yang berkaitan dengan wali dan poligami turut dipermasalahkan kerana pihak pegawai di jabatan kerajaan menganggap bahawa undang-undang sivil mesti diutamakan dan diguna pakai oleh semua rakyat Thailand. Tentang peranannya umat Islam menaruh kepercayaan kepada kadi syarie walau kedudukan tidak diiktiraf oleh pegawai di jabatan kerajaan. Oleh itu, sebahagian besar isu-isu kekeluargaan yang berkaitan dengan wali dan poligami dapat diselesaikan secara damai melalui institusi kadi syarie.

A rich tapestry of Islamic scholarship and Islamic leadership intricately entwined with Islamic knowledge culture and Islamic knowledge management has never ceased to fascinate the present day Islamic educationists and researchers. One of the most distinguished features of Islamic education that has existed for the last fourteen centuries is free education in its purest meaning. The rich and the poor were provided with equal opportunity to acquire the highest order of Islamic knowledge. This profoundly beautiful Islamic culture has witnessed the emergence of some of the brightest intellectual luminaries of the Islamic world in the like of al-Ghazali, al-Biruni, al-Razi and al-Farabi. In a similar line of thought, the Islamic education of days gone by had seen the establishment of world renowned Islamic universities besides encouraging the love for books to the point of building a number of famous libraries for the collection of Islamic books and manuscripts.

Bidang keusahawanan dikenal pasti sebagai pemangkin yang berpotensi besar untuk membangunkan ekonomi sesebuah negara. Islam sememangnya menggalakkan umatnya menceburkan diri dalam bidang keusahawanan sejak dari dulu lagi. Menjadikan aktiviti keusahawanan sebagai suatu ibadat akan mendorong seseorang Muslim untuk menjadi usahawan yang berjaya. Walaupun begitu, terdapat usahawan Muslim yang menjalankan perniagaan tanpa mengira halal dan haram di sisi syarak. Mereka menjalankan perniagaan dengan cara batil (tidak beretika) asalkan mendapatpulangan yang lumayan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai dan etika Islam dalam membentuk usahawan yang bertakwa. Usahawan yang bertahva akan sentiasa beristiqamah dalam usaha untuk merealisasikan keusahawanan secara syumul dan seimbang. Untuk mencapainya, usahawan hendaklah bersedia untuk merealisasikan nilai keusahawanan yang terdapat dalam ajaran Islam secara berterusan termasuklah berikhtiar, beristiqmah, berlaku adil, ihsan, amanah dan ikhlas. Dengan cara ini, umat Islam akan memperolehi matlamat yang unggul iaitu "Al-Falah ", kebahagiaan dunia dan akhirat. Oleh itu, penghayatan kepada al-Quran dan al-Sunnah dapat membantu usahawan kepada pembentukan tauhid yang sebenar dan merupakan akar umbi kepada pembentukan nilai dan etika yang tinggi.

Makalah ini bertujuan menelitiperintah Allah ke atas para pemerintah untuk mengutip zakat daripada golongan yang layak serta membahaskan aplikasi dan kaedah penguatkuasaan zakat yang menjadi amalan pemerintah Islam sejak di zaman Nabi Muhammad s.a.w, para khulafa' al-rashidin serta beberapa pemerintahan Islam selepasnya. Aspek utama yang akan dibincangkan adalah pendekatan yang digunakan para pemerintah kerajaan Islam tersebut dalam mengurus dan mengumpul harta zakat daripada masyarakat Islam; adakah tertumpu melalui kaedah dakwah dan penerangan semata-mata ataupun melalui kaedah-kaedah lain yang lebih tegas. Kajian ini adalah kajian kualitatif menggunakan metode kajian analisa kandungan bagi mengumpulkan maklumat berkenaan perintah Allah ke atas pemerintah untuk memungut zakat. Kaedah ini juga digunakan untuk mendapatkan data berkaitan amalan penguatkuasaan zakat ketika zaman kegemilangan pemerintahan Islam bermula sejak zaman Nabi Muhammad s.a.w sehingga ke beberapa zaman pemerintah Islam selepas kewafatan baginda. Hasil kajian ini mendapati bahawa pendekatan pendidikan dan dakwah diaplikasikan oleh para pemerintah Islam terdahulu ketika umat Islam masih menjadi golongan minoriti iaitu ketika zaman awal kedatangan agama tersebut. Manakala kaedah masyhur yang seringkali digunakan oleh Nabi Muhammad s.a.w dan beberapa pemerintah Islam selepasnya adalah melalui penguatkuasaan lebih tegas iaitu mengutuskan amil untuk mengutip zakat secara langsung daripada masyarakat Islam dan bertindak tegas terhadap golongan yang enggan menunaikan zakat.

Di dalam Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM), perkhidmatan hal ehwal Islam khususnya bagi pelaksanaan pembinaan mental dan kerohanian Islam tidak diabaikan, bahkan peranan berkenaan diambil tanggungjawab secara khusus oleh salah satu Kor dalam Tentera Darat yang dikenali dengan Kor Agama Angkatan Tentera (KAGAT).

Latihan penyediaan kaunselor seperti Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) perlu memberi perhatian yang serius dalam memastikan latihan penyediaan kaunselornya bermutu tinggi, berkepimpinan dan dapat memenuhi syarat-syarat keprofesionalisme dalam bidang kaunseling. Perancangan yang rapi dari sudut kurikulum pengajaran, pemilihan calon, taraf kelayakan pensyarah, syarat minimun kelayakan, kemudahan latihan, tempoh masa latihan dan juga ijazah yang ditawarkan perlu disediakan oleh institusi terlibat. Latihan penyediaan kaunselor juga bertujuan untuk menyediakan kaunselor yang tinggi kualiti kepimpinannya disamping memenuhi syarat keprofesionalisme. Kertas kerja ini melihat latihan penyediaan kaunselor Program Kaunseling, Fakulti Kepimpinan dun Pengurusan USIM yang membentuk ciri kepimpinan pelajarnya. Selain itu, kertas kerja ini melihat latihan penyediaan kaunselor yang rapi dari sudut kurikulum pengajaran, pemilihan calon, taraf kelayakan pensyarah, syarat minimun kelayakan, kemudahan latihan, tempoh masa latihan dan juga ijazah yang ditawarkan.

Psikologi adalah salah satu cabang ilmu yang bercambah dari ilmu falsafah. Walau bagaimanapun psikologi juga bukan tergolong dalam cabang ilmu sains hayat atau sains tulen. Ini kerana psikologi mengambil cebisan dari kedua-dua bidang ilmu ini. Bidang ini telah lama berkembang sejak zaman kegemilangan tamadun purba Mesic Greek, China dan India. Perkembangan ilmu psikologi kini dilihat kini semakin jauh dari penerapan awal ilmu ini oleh tamadun terdahulu yang menggunakan pendekatan untuk mendekatkan diri dengan Maha Pencipta. Tugas memurnikan dan mensucikan kembali pemikiran dan rohani mereka ini bukan sahaja terletak di bahu pemimpin dun pendakwah, malah ahli psikologi yang beragama Islam. Ini kerana kepakaran ahli psikologi Islam adalah amat penting dalam memperbetulkan kembali pemikiran dan konsep yang terdapat dalam ilmu psikologi kini. Malah Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. sendiri menggunakan pendekatan psikologi dalam penyebaran dakwahnya dengan wahyu Allah s.w.t. Ini dapat dijelaskan dengan keperibadian yang disenangi oleh kaum di Mekah dan diperlihatkan dalam fasa dan peringkat penyebaran itu sendiri secara bersembunyi hingga secara terang-terangan.Oleh yang demikian adalah penting ahli psikologi Islam kini memainkan peranan penting dalam pemurnian dan pembetulan konsep psikologi yang sedia ada. Ini kerana ilmu psikologi itu asanya adalah diperkembangkan oleh umat Islam itu sendiri.

The purpose of this policy research is to examine the unsolved problems in Mindanao between the two largest religious groups- Muslims and Christians through looking deeper on the textbooks in the Philippines. It has been manifested for years that the problem of inaccuracy on Filipino Muslims' heritage by Majority Filipinos tends to be the root cause of the endless conflict. Once this policy research will be implemented, the goals and objectives of this paper will be one of the major keys to the solution in Mindanao problem, to make the Majority Filipinos appreciate the Muslim Filipinos, to lessen the societal problem between the Majority Filipinos and the Muslim Filipinos, to give a chance for the Muslim historians to write their history, and to know the cultural practices other than poIitica1 and economical histories. The researcher had researched personally the textbook approved by the government to look into its content. And based on the findings of the stated problem, the major stakeholders should be the Congress, students, Muslim Filipinos, National Historical Institute, textbook publishers, local school board, and the Department of Education. The research had started last August 2009 and was presented to the panels on November 2009 at the UP-NCPAG.

Personal problem that originated from family, financial and work place affairs can be main contributors to stressful life. The way people handle it depends to the stress retention level and the way they managing the stress. Hence, to experience and having stress is considered normal to every human. However in some cases stress become too pressurize, uncontrollable and damaging. This paper is to highlight how the researching info Islamic views and practice able to materialize the Islamic way in managing stress. The roles of religiosity no doubt play an important factor in stress solution. Therefore, the focal point of discussions throughout this paper are fortifies on belief and religiosity which proven as substantial remedy in Islam. Further emphasis will be given on the role of prayer (solat) for Muslim and how does it impact on helping to cope with the stressful condition.
