Publication Aplikasi Elemen Saintifik Dalam Tafsir Al-quran: Satu Pengamatan Awal Terhadap Manhaj Zaghlul El-Najjar Dalam "Tafsir Al-Ayah Al-Kawniyyah Fi Al-Qur'an Al-Karim(Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, 2012) ;Selamat Amir ;Mohd Murshidi Mohd NoorAhmad Bazli Ahmad HilmiThe advancement of science and technology which has been in par with the urbanization of knowledge requires a precise analysis by Muslims in order to have a better understanding of Maqāsid of al-Qur’ān. Thus, the manhaj has been introduced by Prof. Dr. Zaghlūl el-Najjār through his scientific interpretation technique; it can also be found in his work Tafsīr al-Ayah alKawniyyah fī al-Qur’ān al-Karīm which has brought about such a sound impact in the comprehension of bait tauhidik (tauhidic verses). Through the method of scientific data analysis, he tried to study the Qur’ānic verses, in particular al-kawniyyah verses, which they comprise various aspects of creation of the universe, human health and creation. In addition to Najjār’s scientific arguments, the application of classical method in explaining the Qur’ānic verses was also highlighted in his work (particularlly in the textual understanding of the Qur’an). Hence, this article focuses on Zaghlūl al-Najjār’s methodology in his reputed work of Tafsīr al-Ayah al-Kawniyyah fi al-Qur’ān al-Karīm. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Keunggulan ilmu tokoh ulama terdahulu dapat dilihat melalui penghasilan kitab-kitab tafsir. Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis perbandingan aspek pemikiran dan metode penyampaian Muhammad Idris Al-Marbawi dan Mustafa Abdul Rahman dalam karya masing-masing. Fokus kajian ini adalah kepada tafsiran surah Yasin kedua-dua tokoh. Melalui pendekatan kajian perpustakaan, penulis berusaha meneliti dua aspek tersebut dalam karya setiap tokoh dan kemudian membanding antara keduanya. Hasil kajian mendapati pemikiran Al-Marbawi bersifat universal dan integral; pentafsiran beliau sarat dengan perbincangan merangkumi dan merentasi pelbagai bidang ilmu dan aspek. Pemikiran Mustafa Abdul Rahman pula lebih bersifat kontradik dengan Al-Marbawi; pentafsiran beliau mendasar dan merangkumi pengetahuan umum berkenaan ayat. Dari segi metodologi penyampaian Al-Marbawi diwarnai dengan pelbagai pendekatan unik dan susun atur kitab yang sistematik, sementara Mustafa Abdul Rahman menggunakan pendekatan syarahan dengan gaya bahasa yang mudah difahami pembaca. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Emergence of the Semen Between Backbone and the Ribs: Review of the Scholars’ Interpretation of Surah At-Tariq Verse 7(Kolej PERMATA Insan, 2023-12-23) ;Muhammad Naim Rosli ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad Hilmi ;Amir Mustaqim Mohd Naim ;Lana Arash Qurnia Hairul NizamDaniel Fandi NgiengThe verse 7 of Surah al-Tariq mentions human creation from semen that emerges between the backbone and the ribs. However, interpretations of the words al-sulbi and al-tara’ib in verse 7 in the verse have been debated among scholars due to their irrelevance to modern scientific discovery about human creation. This study aims to review various scholars' interpretations of the verse to determine whether the translation of meaning matches modern scientific facts. Library research methodology is used to analyse the explanations of the scholars. The findings reveal that some scholars support the Quran in interpreting the verse and others are against it. Among the view are the verse is incompatible with modern medical knowledge, assumptions of the meaning are made, the Quran does not directly refer to the production of semen, and the Quran refer to the child who comes out from between the backbone and the ribs which is the womb. Further studies need to be conducted to determine the exact meaning of the verse since the views seem unable to clarify the verse. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Fuzzy Delphi Method Application in Developing Methodology for Integrating Memorised Quranic Verses with Aqli Knowledge Based on Quranic Exegesis(Brill, 2023) ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad Hilmi ;Selamat bin Amir ;Muhammad Hafiz SalehAdibah SulaimanIntegrating naqli and aqli knowledge is an approach used in the Kolej GENIUS Insan curriculum. However, no specific model for integrating memorised Quranic verses with aqli knowledge has been highlighted for the subject of Hifz al-Quran. This study aims to outline the methodology of integrating memorised Quranic verses with aqli knowledge based on the discipline of Quranic exegesis. The Fuzzy Delphi method was used, involving twelve experts in Quranic exegesis. The findings showed that the consensus of the experts in the methodology of integrating memorised Quranic verses is the interpretation of the Quran based on the Quran, followed by the interpretation based on the opinion (al-raʾy), the hadith, the opinion of the companions, the opinion of the followers, the language, and the opinion of the previously recognised exegetes. The scientific advancements chronicled in this manuscript significantly contributed to the progress of civilizations in India, Persia, Chaldea, Greece, Rome, Egypt, Arabia, Andalusia, and Israel from the medieval period to the 10th century. This study investigates the early historical development of the nations documented in Kitab Tabaqat al-Umam, with the aim of identifying the initial stages of scientific knowledge development that played vital roles within these societies. Additionally, this research aims to propose strategies for the mastery of scientific knowledge through an in-depth epistemological analysis, focusing on the significance, functions, and contributions of science within these civilizations. The findings indicate that intellectuals in many advanced civilizations regarded science as a form of knowledge essential for nation-building and societal advancement. The study corroborates the view that Andalusia experienced a rapid development of science, establishing itself as a center of scientific knowledge for nearly 800 years in the European region. This is evidenced by the high literacy rates among its population, in stark contrast to the underdeveloped and largely illiterate populations in other parts of Europe during the same period. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Kaedah Memahami Makna al-Quran dalam Pengintegrasian Ayat Hafazan dengan Ilmu Aqli(USIM Press, 2021-12) ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad Hilmi ;Muhammad Hafiz SalehAdibah Sulaiman @ MohamadEfforts to integrate the Quranic memorised verse with the aqli knowledge have been given attention by several tahfiz educational institutions in Malaysia, among them through an integrated curriculum approach and integration between subjects. However, the integrating of the Quran with aqli knowledge requires a deep understanding of the meaning of the verse because of the position of the Quran as Kalamullah. Hence, this study highlights the methods outlined by the scholars to understand the meaning of the Quran. Library research methodology is used in this study by analyzing the writings of scholars on the method of understanding the verses of memorization of the Quran. The results of the study found that scholars outlined 18 methods to understand memorized verses of the Quran: knowing asbab al-nuzul, knowing the methodology of Arabic language, knowing topic and basic objective of al-Quran, a comprehensive view of verses for a topic (interpretation of al-Quran with al-Quran), understanding from hadith perspective, utilising the commentary of companions and followers, knowing environment of revelation (makkiyyah and madaniyyah), knowing al-nasikh and al-mansukh, knowing muhkam and mutashabih, knowing the meaning of a single word in various contexts, knowing the context of verse, knowing dilalah of verse (meaning), knowing the discourse of the Quran, knowing customs and stories of Arab, knowing al-waqf and al-ibtida’, beware of Israiliyyat, knowing - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Kertas Konsep Pengintegrasian Ayat Hafazan al-Quran dengan Ilmu Aqli: Ke Arah Pembangunan Model di Kolej GENIUS Insan(USIM Press, 2022) ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad Hilmi ;Muhammad Hafiz SalehAdibah Sulaiman @ MohamadPendidikan tahfiz di Malaysia semakin berkembang dengan pengenalan Kurikulum Bersepadu Tahfiz (KBT). Mutakhir ini terdapat usaha untuk mengintegrasikan hafazan al-Qur’an dengan subjek-subjek akademik yang dipelajari pelajar. Namun, model integrasi ayat hafazan dengan ilmu aqli berlandaskan disiplin ilmu tafsir bagi kegunaan pelajar peringkat menengah belum diketengahkan. Kertas konsep ini bertujuan membangunkan model pengintegrasian ayat hafazan Al-Quran dengan ilmu aqli di Kolej GENIUS Insan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan Design and Developmental Research (DDR) yang diasaskan oleh Richey dan Klein (2007) yang mempunyai tiga fasa iaitu analisis keperluan, reka bentuk dan pembangunan, dan penilaian kebolehgunaan. Bagi analisis keperluan, tinjauan menggunakan temu bual dilakukan dalam kalangan guru, alumni, dan pelajar Kolej GENIUS Insan untuk melihat bagaimana pengintegrasian ayat hafazan Al-Quran dengan ilmu aqli diimplementasikan. Fasa kedua ialah mereka bentuk model menggunakan kaedah Focus Group Discussion (FGD) melibatkan 7 orang pakar dan membangunkan model menggunakan pendekatan Fuzzy Delphi Method melibatkan 12 pakar. Model prototaip untuk integrasi ayat hafazan Al-Quran dengan ilmu aqli akan menjadi hasil fasa ini. Mahkamah Rayuan pada Mei 2017 telah membenarkan permohonan semakan kehakiman pasangan suami isteri dan anak lelakinya untuk memastikan Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) menukar perkataan ‘Abdullah’ sebagai bin untuk nama kanak-kanak itu kepada nama bapanya dalam sijil kelahiran. Namun, keputusan ini sangat bertentangan dengan syarak di mana dalam Muzakarah Jawatankuasa Fatwa Majlis Kebangsaan Bagi Hal Ehwal Ugama Islam Malaysia. Kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti fatwa-fatwa negeri di Malaysia berkaitan kes penasaban anak luar nikah kepada bapa biologinya. Kajian yang menggunakan pendekatan kajian perpustakaan ini mengenal pasti fatwa-fatwa negeri di Malaysia dalam isu penasaban anak luar nikah kepada biologinya dan maklumat yang diperoleh kemudiannya dianalisis. Hasil kajian mendapati fatwa beberapa negeri adalah selari dengan fatwa Muzakarah Jawatankuasa Fatwa Majlis Kebangsaan Bagi Hal Ehwal Ugama Islam Malaysia. Publication Malay Medical Manuscript Of The Book Of Tib Mss2515: An Analysis Of Skin Diseases Treatment(Transnational Press London Ltd, 2024) ;Muhammad Hakim Kamal ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad Hilmi ;Zulkarnin Zakaria ;A’wani Aziz Nurdalila ;Liyana Amalina AdnanNazariyah YahayaThe book of Tib MSS2515 is considered a complete manuscript discussing medicine in the Malay world. The study aims to assess the use of traditional medicine and its treatment of skin diseases [focuses on shingles, leprosy, and abscess] in the MSS2515 manuscripts. Textual studies and data extraction are applied using philological methods in identifying diseases and treatment and their categorisation. The pharmacological aspect of [materia medica] is analysed by comparing scientific reports in Google Scholar and PubMed and matching the ingredients with the purpose. Findings showed there are 35 formulations for three types of skin diseases. Part of the pharmacology and its use in the manuscripts is supported with contemporary scientific evidence. Scientific studies should be intensified to confirm the safety and efficacy of formulations in Malay medical manuscripts, as their content has the potential to generate new drugs. This helps in understanding the Quranic verses that are relevant to those fields and further exploring the contents of the Quran more broadly. However, the form of integration of the Quran with aqli knowledge and the conditions for such integration based on the expert agreement have not been highlighted. This study aims to design and develop the integration of Quranic verses with acquired knowledge form and its condition based on the discipline of Quranic exegesis. The study used the three-phase Design and Development Research (DDR) approach, and this paper only discussed the second phase, design and development. The form of the integration and its condition was designed based on the literature review and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) by seven (7) experts in the related field of study. Then, the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) was used to develop the form and condition. Twelve (12) experts in Quranic exegesis have participated in FDM. Experts’ consensus has been obtained in developing the forms for integrating Quranic verses with acquired knowledge and its conditions. The forms involve eleven items: Discussion of Concept, Discussion of the Quranic Approach, Explanation of function, Explanation of feature, Explanation of process, Explanation of cause and effect, Rational explanation of aspects of language, Explanation of Islamic legislation’s wisdom, Explanation of historiography and geography of the stories in the Quran, Inspirational Innovation by the Quran, Translational Technology from the Quran. The conditions for integrating consist of nine items and the experts emphasise the conditions concerning ethics more than the conditions relating to interpretation content. This study has significant implications for using new methods, namely design and development research. Artikel ini bertujuan memperkenalkan satu reka bentuk wasilah dakwah abad ke-21 melalui perbincangan ayat kawniyyat sebagai pendekatan dakwah dalam kalangan Cendekiawan Islam Pintar Berbakat. Metodologi kajian perpustakaan telah digunakan dalam mereka bentuk NAQul Insan™; satu persembahan bicara ilmiah mengenai pentafsiran ayat kawniyyat berorientasikan fakta sains moden (tafsir ilmi) dan format persembahannya menampilkan paparan audiovisual berterusan. Paparan audiovisual tersebut mengiringi pembicara tanpa henti sebagai latar belakang (background) yang memperincikan maksud kepada pembicara di hadapan (foreground). Kajian mendapati NAQul Insan™ merupakan satu medium dakwah yang seiring dengan uslub zaman perkembangan pengetahuan dan kecanggihan teknologi yang menuntut sesuatu bukti empirikal. Perbincangan ayat kawniyyat adalah relevan kerana Allah SWT lebih mengetahui perkara yang dapat menyentuh jiwa manusia dan hakikat kejadian manusia itu sendiri. Apa yang berbeza hanyalah tahap pengetahuan dan kemajuan tamadun pada zaman tersebut dalam memahami maksud ayat tersebut. Kajian ini cuba menyoroti sejarah pengajian al-Quran dan pengintegrasiannya dengan ilmu aqli. Kajian ini adalah bersifat kualitatif menggunakan metodologi kajian perpustakaan. Hasil kajian mendapati perkembangan pengajian al-Quran bermula dengan hafazan, kefahaman, dan seterusnya membawa kepada pentafsiran al-Quran sesuai dengan keperluan semasa. The IGEd curriculum model adopted core civilisational values from successful nations and past civilisations to groom the young, gifted Muslims with the Abqari personality. Using Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan and Qalb-based education approach, the main characteristics identified in the model are Rabbaniyyah, Akhlaqiyyah, Alamiyyah, Insaniyyah and Siasiyyah (RAAIS). The RAAIS model has been developed through a series of workshops involving educational experts and each element is considered vital for nurturing future Muslim scholars. This paper derived its findings from past literature review and they helped establishing the core values and principles that will be implemented in the college’s education ecosystem. The framework will guide educators and students in every aspect of the teaching and learning process—an academic culture and benchmark for everyone to build and achieve in nurturing the mind, heart and soul of becoming a Muslim scholar with Abqari personality. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menilai penggunaan ubat tradisional dan rawatan penyakit kulit [memberi tumpuan kepada kayap, kusta, dan abses] dalam manuskrip MSS2515. Kajian teks dan pengekstrakan data digunakan menggunakan kaedah filologi dalam mengenal pasti penyakit dan rawatan dan pengkategoriannya. Aspek farmakologi [materia medica] dianalisis dengan membandingkan laporan saintifik dalam Google Scholar dan PubMed dan memadankan bahan-bahan dengan tujuan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat 35 formulasi untuk tiga jenis penyakit kulit. Sebahagian daripada farmakologi dan penggunaannya dalam manuskrip disokong dengan bukti saintifik kontemporari. Kajian saintifik perlu dipergiatkan bagi mengesahkan keselamatan dan keberkesanan formulasi dalam manuskrip perubatan Melayu, kerana kandungannya berpotensi menghasilkan ubat baharu. Namun modul pendidikan Al-Quran yang digunakan di KGI tidak menggariskan panduan secara spesifik dalam pengintegrasian ayat hafazan dengan ilmu aqli. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mereka bentuk model pengintegrasian ayat hafazan dengan ilmu aqli bagi kegunaan guru Al-Quran dan pelajar Kolej GENIUS Insan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kajian perpustakaan dan Perbincangan Kumpulan Fokus (FGD) melibatkan sekumpulan pakar. Hasil kajian ini ialah sebuah Model Pengintegrasian Ayat Hafazan dengan Ilmu Aqli yang mempunyai lima komponen, lima fasa, lapan sub-fasa yang mengandungi aktiviti dan elemen. Therefore,methods in the scientific research of the Qur’ān were adapted according to the times and the development of civilizations. Hence, the current scientific study of the Qur’ānfocused on the historiography to see its overall development. This study discussed the concept of scientific thought of the Qur’ānand its importance to the I‘jāz of the Qur’ān. Additionaly, the scholars’ position in emphasizing the scientific study of the Qur’ān was also presented in this research. Moreover, the adopted method of analysis was library research, which examined the relevant written research materials. The analysis illustrated that the Qur’ānic scientific methodology included divine science based on the I‘jāz al-Ilāhī, social science based on the I‘jāz al-Tashrī‘ī,and natural science based on the I‘jāz al-‘Ilmīandthedevelopment history offered comparisons of thoughts, which emerged during the Islamic civilization. Such Qur’ānic scientific methodology has led /conduct eda deeper understanding of the Qur’ānand brought its study/interpretations to the public. Thus, this study is significant for exhibiting the importance of deepening the conceptual connection developed in the Qur’ānic scientific study with its historical development. Publication Terjemahan Makna Ayat Kawniyyat Berdasarkan Tafsir Ilmi: Satu Penilaian Semula Terhadap Ayat Al-quran Mengenai Penciptaan Tumbuhan(Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia, 2015) ;Rossidi Usop ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad HilmiSelamat AmirAntara syarat penterjemahan makna al-Quran ialah penterjemahan tersebut dilakukan oleh satu jawatankuasa yang terdiri daripada mereka yang pakar dalam bidang-bidang tertentu seperti bahasa Arab, bahasa pengantar yang digunakan, tafsir dan bidang-bidang lain seperti sastera, sejarah, geografi, kimia, biologi, perubatan, kejuruteraan, undang-undang dan seumpamanya kerana al-Quran bukan membincangkan persoalan hukum semata-mata malah terkandung di dalamnya elemen pelbagai bidang ilmu. Ayat al-Quran yang kebiasaannya menjadi perbincangan dalam penterjemahan makna ialah ayat yang berkaitan dengan ciptaan atau lebih dikenali dengan ayat kawniyyat. Hal ini kerana ayat kawniyyat ini secara tidak langsung mengandungi elemen sains yang memerlukan kepakaran mereka yang berkecimpung dalam bidang tersebut untuk mengetahui makna yang tepat agar terjemahan yang dilakukan selari dengan fakta sains moden. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk menilai semula terjemahan makna ayat kawniyyat berkaitan penciptaan tumbuhan berpandukan fakta sains moden untuk menyerasikan antara kedua-duanya. Kajian yang menggunakan metodologi kajian perpustakaan ini dijalankan dengan menganalisis terjemahan makna ayat tersebut menggunakan tafsir ‘ilmi atau tafsir yang berorientasikan sains untuk mengetahui sama ada terjemahan makna ayat tersebut selari dengan fakta sains moden. Terjemahan makna sebenar kepada ayat tersebut kemudiannya dicadangkan. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat penambahan nilai dalam terjemahan makna ayat 25 Surah Maryam pada makna kalimah rutab yang diterjemahkan dengan “buah kurma/tamar” sedangkan perkataan yang lebih tepat berdasarkan fakta sains semasa ialah “buah kurma basah” - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Faktor utama yang menyumbang kepada permasalahan tersebut ialah terbatasnya kemahiran dalam ilmu-ilmu yang berkaitan dengan al-Quran. Oleh yang demikian penilaian semula terjemahan al-Quran sedia ada adalah satu keperluan memandangkan al-Quran merupakan mukjizat yang kekal hingga ke akhir zaman. Kajian bertujuan menyemak kembali terjemahan al-Quran Bahasa Melayu sedia ada yang memfokuskan terjemahan makna kalimah al-muzn dan yasbahun seiring dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan kemajuan teknologi dewasa ini. Kajian yang menggunakan metodologi penyelidikan perpustakaan ini dijalankan dengan menganalisis terjemahan makna ayat Al-Quran (Tafsir Pimpinan ar-Rahman dan Terjemahan al-Hidayah al-Quran al-Karim) berkaitan penciptaan langit yang memfokuskan kejadian hujan dan pergerakan objek di langit berdasarkan kaedah tafsir ilmi. Analisis terhadap sampel kajian menunjukkan terjemahan al-Quran sedia ada tidak memberikan perbezaan terhadap beberapa kalimah berkaitan kejadian hujan dan mentakwilkan kalimah yasbahun bagi pergerakan objek di langit. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat penambahan nilai diterapkan kepada terjemahan makna ayat al-Quran sedia ada berkaitan penciptaan langit; pengkhususan terjemahan makna yang umum bagi kalimah al-muzn dan penggunaan terjemahan makna asal bagi kalimah yasbahun tanpa takwil. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Walau bagaimanapun, aspek perlindungan menurut Al-Quran belum dirungkaikan secara tematik. Tujuan kajian adalah untuk mengenal pasti dan menganalisis terjemahan makna perkataan “lindung” dalam kitab terjemahan al-Quran yang rasmi di Malaysia iaitu Tafsir Pimpinan Ar-Rahman. Kajian yang menggunakan metodologi penyelidikan perpustakaan ini dijalankan dengan mengenalpasti ayat yang mengandungi terjemahan makna “lindung”dan analisis kemudiannya dilakukan terhadap penterjemahan tersebut dalam aspek kalimah. Publication The Dynamism Of The Social Literary And Hermeneutical Streams In Qurʾanic Classical And Modern Exegesis Studies(Brill, 2024) ;Selamat bin Amir ;Ahmad Bazli Ahmad Hilmi ;Mustaffa bin AbdullahMuhamad Alihanafiah NorasidAmong the Qurʾanic exegesis streams that have emerged due to social changes and current developments in human civilisation, such as [specific social changes and developments], are the social literary (tafsīr al-adabī al-ijtimāʿī) stream and the hermeneutic. Both streams have their framework, phase, and factor from the time of their emergence and have their position in the method of Qurʾanic exegesis. This study discusses these two streams as a central debate in line with the historical and philosophical correlation of the evolution from classical to modern interpretations from various perspectives and in the context of the Islamic and Western world. This qualitative study used library research and comparative study on the social literary stream and hermeneutic, supported by other related written materials. The study finds that the social literary stream and hermeneutics differ in origin and methodology. The social literary stream is an interpretation that discusses Qurʾanic verses with the aesthetic value of language literature and its correlation with the elements of society. It can solve problems, counter hostility towards Islam, and treat diseases that exist in society with the guidance of the Qurʾan. Hermeneutic is a method of interpreting or expressing meaning in a text, originally referring to the Bible, originated from Greek mythology, which then developed in Christian culture and is now beginning to influence the method of interpreting the Quran. It is unsuitable for interpreting the Qurʾan because it would raise doubts (skepticism and relativism) about the equation of the Qurʾanic text with ordinary texts.
