Malaysia is no exception to being a focused country as a popular Islamic tourism destination. However, there was insufficient tourism-related information, especially on Muslim tourists via smartphone. Hence the present article conducted a systematic literature review on the design and development of Islamic tourism applications via smartphones focusing on the Android platform. This study selected related articles using three databases: EBSCOhost, Mendeley, and Google Scholar. Based on the thematic analysis, this review has five main themes, namely 1) Islamic tourism; 2) technology; 3) mobile application; 4) barriers; and 5) management. The findings prompted the design and development of a smartphone application that addresses all of the needs of tourists, mainly Muslim tourists. This study also contributes to the use of technology and mobile application in teaching and learning Arabic for specific purposes such as tourism. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Arabic Neologisms in Indonesian and Malaysian Arabic Media(Al-Jami'ah Research Centre, 2023) ;Uki Sukiman ;Ghazali Zainuddin ;Yoyo YoyoSiti Rosilawati RamlanThis research examines new, unique Arabic terms and vocabulary used in the newspapers Indonesia Alyoum and Aswaq, two online media based in Indonesia and Malaysia, respectively, to elaborate on the development of the Arabic language in non-Arab countries. The invention of new Arabic words in these media primarily used the methods of al-taulīd bi al-iqtirāḍ, particularly al-dakhīl, and al-taulīd al-dalālī using al-tarjamah al-ḥarfiyah. Meanwhile, the method al-taulīd bi al-majāz, a metaphorical method, is to invent new, unique, local terms. However, the authors argue that both newspapers have differences in transliteration and inconsistent use of terms. In response to this language development, Malay Muslims show their potential to develop Malay-Arabic transliteration guidelines, compile a new Arabic dictionary, and even establish Southeast Asian Majma‘ al-Lugah al-‘Arabiyah. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Pembangunan model penilaian Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) untuk bahasa Arab di Institusi Pengajian Tinggi(Penerbit KUIS, 2021) ;Ghazali Zainuddin ;Irwan Mahazir Ismail ;Siti Rosilawati Ramlan ;Mohammad Najib Jaffar ;Mohammad Imran Ahmad ;Norfaezah Mohd Hamidin ;Mohd Shahrul Nizam Mohd DanuriSofia Noraina IsaThe Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) platform is one of the online learning platforms used around the world, especially in higher education institutions (HEIs). It is one of the main platforms for teaching and learning in the Malaysian HEIs during the Covid-19 pandemic that has spread worldwide since December 2019. However, some lecturers have voiced their concerns on conducting assessments on MOOCs, specifically for Arabic language learning. Therefore, the development of a MOOC assessment model for Arabic can be used as an alternative solution. This article aims to elucidate complex problems and analyze the structure and essential elements to be applied in the MOOC assessment model. This model was developed based on a consensus of seven experts. Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) was utilised in the development of this model. The six main steps involved in the model development were identifying relevant elements, establishing relationships between variables, developing a self-interaction structure matrix (SSIM), generating a model from the ISM approach, delivering a presentation on the study model, and finally presenting and amending the final model of the study. A total of seven elements were identified by the experts for the implementation of the MOOC assessment for Arabic. The important element is the element that determines the type of assessment (self-assessment, peer, summative assessment, formative) to measure student performance, which ends with the element of determining the certification requirements for students to complete the course. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Pembelajaran Norma Baharu Era Covid-19: Refleksi Pelajar Kursus Metodologi Penyelidikan USIM(USIM Press, 2021-12) ;Lubna Abd Rahman ;Zalika Adam ;Siti Rosilawati RamlanGhazali ZainuddinMasyarakat seluruh dunia menyaksikan perubahan drastik dalam kehidupan mereka sejak berlakunya penularan wabak COVID-19. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
