Publication Alkohol: Definisi, Pengharaman, Metabolisme Dan Kegunaannya(USIM Press, 2018) ;Latipah Mohd Noor ;Siti Rubaini Mat ;Norhakimah DhiaudinAfif ArifinAlkohol merupakan suatu sebatian organik yang mengandungi kumpulan berfungsi hidroksi (-OH). Ia mempunyai pelbagai kegunaan dan manfaat namun apabila bercakap tentang alkohol, kita sering mengklasifikasikan semua jenis alkohol itu sebagai haram. Istilah arak atau khamr dan alkohol sebenarnya memberi pengertian yang berbeza dan maksud keduanya harus difahami. Alkohol yang diharamkan adalah etanol yang menjadi salah satu bahan dalam arak. Justeru, artikel ini ditulis bagi membincangkan perbezaan antara penggunaan alkohol yang dibolehkan dalam Islam dan yang diharamkan dalam Islam. Sebenarnya, terdapat perbincangan yang luas di antara para fuqaha tentang penggunaan alkohol dalam pelbagai cabang sesuai dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan terutamanya bidang sains dan teknologi. Kajian kepustakaan melalui pembacaan jurnal, tafsir Al-Quran dan sebab diturunkan ayat tersebut, telah dijalankan bagi mengetahui tentang maksud sebenar alkohol dan penghasilannya, sejarah dan hikmah pengharaman alkohol (arak) dalam syariat Islam, kesan pengambilan alkohol terhadap tubuh manusia dan kegunaan serta isu-isu berkaitan dengan penggunaan alkohol dalam kehidupan seharian. Alkohol iaitu etanol, boleh dihasilkan melalui dua kaedah iaitu fermentasi dan tindak balas etena dengan stim. Pengharaman alkohol (arak) dalam syariat Islam adalah secara berperingkat dan ia mempunyai hikmahnya yang tersendiri antaranya bagi menunjukkan kepada manusia bahawa alkohol juga boleh dimanfaatkan dalam kehidupan. Pengambilan alkohol sebagai minuman boleh merosakkan sistem tubuh manusia, memberi kesan ke atas otak dan kebolehan berfikir, risiko kerosakan hati atau sirosis dan meningkatkan risiko kanser. This knowledge such as human creation is mentioned well throughout the Quran. One of the miracles in the Quran is that it describes accurately the embryonic stages during creation and formation of a fetus. Little did the recital knew about embryology, a medical terminology for human development in the mother's womb. Therefore, it is important to relate the science of Biology and Quran which meets the physical and spiritual needs in order to produce a balanced holistic generation. This concept is known as integration of naqli and aqli that combines the revealed knowledge and modern sciences. Therefore, this study aims to introduce and discuss a tool named as "Biokids" courseware that helps the children to understand more on Biology with the reflection of the integration of naqli and aqli knowledge. This study involved qualitative method, which is collecting data obtained by conducting a review of Quranic verses that is related to the area of knowledge. This effort is hoped to attract kids to learn more about Biology; as the interactive courseware provides new method of learning to people especially those at young age who would love to have more active learning environment. Many people are aware that gelatin can be derived from sources like porcine (pork). Since pork is considered haram (forbidden) in Islam, Muslims are prohibited from consuming products containing gelatin-sourced. To address these concerns, some manufacturers offer alternative options, such as marshmallows made with gelatin from bovine sources or plant-based ingredients like agar-agar or carrageenan. Additionally, some companies produce vegan marshmallows that do not contain any animal-derived ingredients. Clear labeling and ingredient transparency are important for consumers to make informed choices about the products they purchase, especially when considering religious requirements. In some cases, individuals seek authentication or verification labels to ensure that the gelatin used in products aligns with their dietary, religious, or cultural preferences, in our case Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) halal certification. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The atmosphere of virtual world that is connected online has influenced academia in teaching and learning sessions. Before the Movement Control Order (MCO), blended learning has been carried out for all subjects taught in Tamhidi using Global Open Access Learning System (GOALS) as learning management system provided by USIM. Due to the pandemic outbreak, Tamhidi Centre has faced a challenging time because the semester is already at the final semester for the cohort 2019/2020. During the MCO 1.0, while students were at home, classes were conducted fully online. The final exams was also done online via GOALS. Then, coming the next cohort, for the first time in history, orientation was held online, and students came to campus in an arranged time within the period of seven days. Without having new staff intake, the grouping of students now is increased from 25 students per group to 45 students. Initially, classes are conducted online, both synchronous and asynchronously. All students are involved in this kind of approach, but for science stream students; biology, physics dan chemistry experiments still need to do face to face sessions in the laboratory. This paper will document the experience of several Tamhidi in using online tools before the MCO, during MCO, and after the MCO 1.0 days are over. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Faktor Pemilihan Pelajar Lepasan SPM Ke Program Tamhidi (Pre-Universiti) di Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Bagi Sesi Akademik 2022/2023(Penerbit USIM, 2022) ;Siti Rubaini Mat ;Fauziah Hassan ;Amanina KamarudinJuliana JumalKemasukan pelajar ke institusi pengajian tinggi seluruh negara kini direkodkan mengalami kemerosotan. Di Pusat Tamhidi USIM, pendaftaran pelajar berkurang sebanyak 21.3% berbanding bilangan pelajar tahun lalu. Melalui soal selidik (kuantitatif) yang dijalankan ke atas 583 orang pelajar ambilan baharu sesi 2022/2023, jumlah pelajar yang memasuki Tamhidi adalah 50.3% berasal daripada aliran sains, namun dalam Rajah 1 hanya 46.7% (23.2+23.5) daripada responden yang berada di Tamhidi Perubatan, Pergigian dan Sains (TPPS) dan Tamhidi Sains Fizikal dan Teknologi (TSFT). Segelintir (3.6%) pelajar daripada aliran sains memilih untuk bertukar aliran ke Tamhidi Syariah dan Undang-Undang (TSU). Pelajar lepasan SPM yang berumur 18 tahun terdorong untuk memilih program di Pusat Tamhidi atas faktor dorongan keluarga dan cadangan daripada guru dan kaunselor sekolah. Kedudukan kewangan keluarga juga merupakan faktor yang agak memainkan peranan daripada segi pendaftaran pelajar, memandangkan terdapat beberapa orang pelajar yang tidak mendaftar sejurus menerima tawaran yang berkemungkinan disebabkan faktor kewangan. Adalah diharapkan bilangan kemasukan pelajar ke Pusat Tamhidi akan meningkat pada tahun-tahun akan datang dan seterusnya USIM dapat melahirkan pelajar-pelajar yang berdaya saing dan holistik pada masa hadapan. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Integration Of Naqli And Aqli Knowledge In Education Curriculum : Experience Of Faculty Of Quranic And Sunah Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia(Int Organization Center Acad Research, 2017) ;Mohamed Akhiruddin Ibrahim ;Siti Rubaini Mat ;Latipah Mohd NoorAfif ArifinNaqli knowledge is a knowledge that is sourced on the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad while Aqli knowledge is sourced from the rationale and findings of human thoughts in relationship with the progress of human civilization. Both types of knowledge have long developed in accordance with the current progress of the pioneers and their studies in the field. Therefore, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) as one of Malaysian Government universities has determined to be a university that is ahead in both disciplines through its theme in pioneering Islamic science and spearheading knowledge. Hence, the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge in the education curriculum for courses in the university has been practiced. This approach for both disciplines involves the entire faculty and academic centers in the university. For the Faculty of Quranic & Sunnah Studies, the department has made great strides through USIM's mission that is determined to be an advanced institution that is based on science and Islamic studies at the forefront of new knowledge through the use of the latest technology. This is to generate innovations that can transform the country, nation and mankind. Briefing sessions for integrating the two disciplines have been conducted to provide a better understanding to the academics in the Faculty. From the activities carried out, participants have more meaningful understanding in creating a curriculum that includes the integration of Naqli and Aqli. Similarly, workshops were also conducted either at the University or Faculty level for each course offered. From the workshop conducted, participants had made improvement to the curriculum of the courses offered to students. In addition, the seminar which was created through the presentation of papers by presenters either from within or outside the faculty have also been able to improve the quality of the education curriculum that integrates Naqli and Aqli in USIM. The study has found that the curriculum at the Faculty of Quranic & Sunnah Studies, USIM has successfully integrated both disciplines discussed, but in order to produce a more robust impact, then projected follow-up measures need to be strengthened. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Namun tidak ramai yang sedar akan hal tersebut. Akibatnya isu-isu alam sekitar muncul seperti cendawan tumbuh selepas hujan. Justeru, satu kajian telah dijalankan ke atas pelajar ambilan baharu Pusat Tamhidi untuk mengetahui tahap keberkesanan modul yang dibangunkan. Kajian ini menggunakan borang soal selidik yang telah diedarkan melalui aplikasi media sosial telegram rasmi jabatan kepada semua pelajar baharu Pusat Tamhidi (pra-universiti) sempena Program Taaruf Sesi 2022/2023. Seramai 472 pelajar telah menjawab soal selidik tersebut. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan bahawa tahap keberkesanan modul terhadap para pelajar baharu adalah sangat baik di mana purata min secara keseluruhan melebihi 3.00 (Chua, 2006). Students and teachers with mobility impairments rely on assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, and artificial limbs to obtain mobility. Mobility impairments may involve limitations in performing certain acts such as entering classrooms, sitting for long periods of time, manipulating pencils and writing. For this, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia has established the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Inclusive Policy of OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya @ disabled people) at institutions of higher learning. In response to the Disability Act of 2008 that mandates Disability Inclusion Policy at all education levels. For Islamic scholars, human and animals cloning is mostly discussed. Despite conclusion made saying that human cloning is a contradiction to the nature of the creation by Allah SWT, molecular cloning on the other hand is beneficial for improvement in medicinal sciences and biotechnology. Research in the field of biochemistry, genetics and bioinformatics gives rise to developments of antibiotics and vaccination. In order to do so, genetic material is cloned and employed for humanity as expansion of knowledge. In this study, a simple experiment was carried out to understand the process of cloning for the simplest living organism; the bacteria. Then, authors would like to explore and list the benefits of molecular cloning from the perspective of a muslim scientist. A genome from UKM's soil; Aeromonas hydrophilla is selected for isolation and extraction; in order to get genetic material for a chitin-binding protein, CBP. It is a protein which is non-catalytic and essential for chitin degradation. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was performed on the particular gene once extracted, and it was successfully cloned. It was found that the optimum annealing temperature is at 69oC. Having millions copies of the gene, the protein can be expressed and degradation of chitin can be studied. Cloning at a molecular level is an important tool to understand genetic engineering. These developments pose many new and challenging questions for scholars of Islamic Law, questions that need to be dealt with on the basis of the immutable principles set forth in the Quran and Hadith. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Noise And Echo: Listening Task In Tamhidi Centre, USIM(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2020-10-15) ;Siti Rubaini Mat ;Shahirah Sulaiman ;Junaidah Md DinSiti Fazilah Shaik Mohd NoorOne of the elements in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) is listening skill. Whilst preparing for the exam, USIM’s foundation students experienced noise disturbance (outside and inside noises) when listening task were carried out in tutorial classroom (removable board-like walls), then, they move to lecture halls (well-built cemented walls) for appropriate venue. Nevertheless, it is identified that students still struggle to focus because of other distraction which is echo. It is a concern because the exam will be held at Dewan Tuanku Canselor (DTC). Sound intensity of the listening material was measured using a digital sound meter, then, echo was calculated by Institute of Physics method. Echo was detected to be 37 ms-1 (lecture halls) in comparison to 8.67 ms-1 (DTC). From the situation, it was suggested to the university that in order to reduce echo, installment of removable carpets and soft boards at certain setting can assist students in answering their listening task. Further study should be done to determine the suitable action towards this matter since MUET is one of the pre-requisites for students to enroll and to graduate. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Penandaarasan Antarabangsa Pisa Dan Kesinambungan Dalam Pengajaran Di Peringkat Pengajian Tinggi(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2021-09-09) ;Siti Rubaini MatAni Salwiah ZakariaPentaksiran Programme International Student Assessment (PISA) merupakan salah satu indikator yang digunakan dalam kalangan negara-negara seluruh dunia bagi mengukur tahap keberkesanan sistem pendidikan masing-masing dalam persediaan melengkapkan ilmu kepada remaja 15 tahun untuk menyesuaikan diri dalam masyarakat. Skor yang diperolehi oleh Malaysia akan dibincangkan sejak penglibatan negara kita pada tahun 2009. Bagi meningkatkan skor, usaha Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia disenaraikan dan dibincangkan. Dalam usaha menjadikan Malaysia suatu negara yang menjadi pusat kecemerlangan pendidikan di rantau ini, MQA memainkan peranan sebagai badan penyelaras pengiktirafan dan pengakreditan bagi mendapatkan pengiktirafan antarabangsa. Kualiti pendidikan yang ditawarkan oleh institusi pengajian tinggi juga seharusnya tepat dan relevan bagi menyediakan graduan yang berdaya saing dan boleh menyesuaikan diri dengan keperluan pasaran pekerjaan tempatan dan luar negara, bersesuaian dengan matlamat Wawasan Kemakmuran Bersama 2030. Disebabkan penularan wabak COVID-19, pembelajaran berasaskan dalam talian telah diamalkan secara global, memaksa pengajian wajib dijalankan dari rumah. Walaupun terdapat kelemahan, terdapat banyak kebaikan yang perlu dipertimbangkan. Penilaian makmal kimia di Pusat Tamhidi USIM melibatkan gabungan pembelajaran maya dan fizikal. Terdapat tiga fasa termasuk penilaian pra, semasa dan pasca makmal. Video H5P (kandungan video interaktif berasaskan HTML5) ialah penilaian pra-makmal yang perlu pelajar cuba sebelum menjalankan eksperimen. Mereka akan mengakses video H5P melalui platform dalam talian, Global Open Access Learning System (GOALS) di mana mereka perlu menonton video pendek berkenaan dengan eksperimen dan menjawab beberapa soalan sepanjang video yang dirakamkan. Aktiviti atau penilaian pra-makmal ini akan membantu pelajar untuk mendapatkan gambaran keseluruhan berkaitan eksperimen yang akan dijalankan serta pengajar dapat membuat pra-penilaian kepada pelajar. Penilaian makmal psikomotor dijalankan semasa amali makmal. Pelajar dinilai berdasarkan prestasi mereka dalam menjalankan eksperimen dan dinilai oleh pengajar mengikut penilaian rubrik. Penilaian terakhir penilaian makmal ialah aktiviti pasca makmal. Ia melibatkan platform dalam talian GOALS di mana pelajar diberi masa 15 minit untuk menjawab 10 soalan aneka pilihan berkenaan eksperimen yang telah mereka jalankan. Secara keseluruhannya, ini adalah penilaian konstruktif untuk aktiviti makmal yang telah diperkenalkan dan dilaksanakan oleh Unit Kimia di Pusat Tamhidi.
