Bercinta bukanlah satu tiket untuk pasangan teruna dan dara melakukan apa sahaja. Islam menggariskan panduan tentang batas pergaulan antara lelaki dan perempuan. Mereka perlu menjaga akhlak percintaan dan memiliki rasa malu untuk melakukan sesuatu yang tidak baik. Akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu menjaga pelakunya dari perbuatan-perbuatan yang tidak sesuai dengan ajaran agama, undang-undang atau adab masyarakat. Sampel yang terlibat dalam kajian ini adalah 260 pelajar dari dua Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam di Selangor dan Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk melihat samada terdapat hubungan antara akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu. Kaedah kajian ini adalah kuantitatif menggunakan Instrumen Akhlak Percintaan dan Inventori Emosi Moral Muslim. Seseorang yang menjaga akhlak dalam percintaan memiliki rasa malu yang tinggi. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu. Implikasi kajian ini adalah berkaitan dengan pemahaman tentang akhlak percintaan dan rasa malu dari perspektif Islam amat relevan dalam menangani masalah sosial yang berakar dari salah faham tentang konsep cinta. Kajian ini menekankan kepentingan memahami cinta dari sudut moral dan akhlak percintaan.

This study offers a brief analysis on some biographical works on Imam al-Ghazali and his view on the issue of faith and good deeds through examination of various relevant literature. Imam al-Ghazali has been regarded as one of the world’s most influential thinkers as well as the greatest scholar Islam has ever produced. The life, teaching and thought of al-Ghazali have attracted the attention of many scholars, both Western and non-Western. The influence of al-Ghazali is not limited within his own tradition, but is felt both in the East and the West, reaching Jewish and Christian traditions. This study is theoretical in nature, and it involves bibliographic/library research. It surveys and offers a brief analysis of some literatures—mostly in English—that are relevant to al-Ghazali’s biography and his view on the issue of faith and good deeds. This study found that although there are some critical assessments and misunderstandings of al-Ghazali’s life and views, majority of literature consulted acknowledge his great scholarship and contributions in many aspects. Al-Ghazali did not remain indifferent but indeed ardently refuted the various interpretations related to the issue of good deeds which he considered as heretical. The research also shows that not only al-Ghazali always emphasised the observance of religious commandments, but he also breathed spirituality and gave deeper content and insight into the religious life.

This paper examines the contributions of Alonto to the development of moderation of Islamic and western education in the Philippines, and it will clarify his Parliamentary struggle, his establishment of Islamic University of the Philippines and his views on Islamic education. The tendency of giving priority to discuss Alonto’s major contributions to the development of moderation of Islamic and western education in the Philippines is to clarify and trace the hidden and explore the reality of moderation between Islamic and western education and its impact to the communities in the Philippines. To address this limitation, an analytical study is conceived to foreground of his major contributions to the development of Islamic and western education in the Philippines. The objectives of this study is to identify and trace the development of moderation of Islamic and western education, to understand its reality, to summarize the views of Alonto’s Islamic and western education in the Philippines. Discourse Analysis will be used in this study in order to identify the elements of Alonto’s views on moderation of islamic and western education. The study singles out first that the Alonto’s moderation of Islamic and western education is no dichotomy to disconnect its teachings and understanding to each other. His approach to spread and development of moderation of Islamic and western education is primary a combination of his western educational background grounded based on the the Holy Qur᾽ān, and Hadīth. At the end, the study gives framework on Alonto’s views on the development of moderation of Islamic and western education in the Philippines.

Supervision role is believed to have a significant impact on subordinates'job satisfaction. In this sense, the study is aimed to investigate the satisfaction of academics with the role of supervision of their leaders in the university. The research took the form of semi-structured interviews and focus group interviews with seventeen interviewees comprised of sixteen academics from three public universities and a former Minister of Higher Education Ministry of Malaysia. The results indicated that there were mixed responses given by all the interview respondents in regards to their satisfaction with supervision. Some issues that instigated dissatisfaction such as fairness and consideration practised by management people, management strategy and leadership, and lack of consultation, freedom and authority were discussed. The implications of the finding for management- particularly those in public higher education institutions are discussed.

Etika dan penghayatan integriti merupakan salah satu aspek terpenting dalam agensi penguatkuasaan undang-undang (Mahayudin, 2006) seperti Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM). Untuk meneroka amalan etika dan budaya integriti, suatu kajian akan dijalankan bagi meneroka konsep, faktor, cabaran dan kesan pengamalan etika dan budaya integiti dalam kalangan pegawai penyiasat di Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah/Crime Investigation Department (JSJ/CID) dan kesannya terhadap imej profesional polis. Jabatan Penyiasatan Jenayah dilihat amat sentral dalam penguatkuasaan undang-undang dan penyiasatan jenayah justeru memahami konsep etika dan pengamalannya adalah sesatu yang crucial. Ia menyumbang kepada peningkatan kepercayaan rakyat terhadap PDRM serta kecekapan dan prestasi penyampaian PDRM. Bagi memahami fenomena ini secara mendalam, kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif pendekatan fenomenologi dengan persampelan bertujuan. Pengumpulan data melalui kaedah temubual separa berstruktur serta perbincangan berkumpulan berfokus (FGD) akan dilaksanakan bagi meneroka konsep, cabaran dan kesan pengamalan etika dan budaya integriti. Rumusan hasil kajian ini akan dapat mengenalpasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengamalan budaya integriti, cabaran dan halangan serta kesan pengamalan integriti terhadap imej dan keupayaan perkhidmatan PDRM. Suatu model “Budaya Integriti PDRM” akan dihasilkan untuk menjadi panduan tentang pengamalan etika dan budaya integriti para pegawai polis dalam era pasca abad ke-20 ini.

The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development will introduce the Social Work Professionals Act in Malaysia. This article discusses the perspective of significance of the social work profession act in Malaysia. This study is a qualitative study using face-to-face interviews among Management and Professional Groups (Grades 41 - 48) in the Department of Social Welfare and the Malaysian Social Institute. Sample selection was carried out through purposive sampling technique and data were analyzed using thematic analysis through an inductive approach that focused on coding to obtain key themes. Their perspectives include the act of strengthening social justice, helping with practical practice, helping to manage social issues, strengthening social work education programs, and regulating social work eligibility. This article found that a multi-party initiative to strengthen the effectiveness of the social work profession is necessary to ensure that it acts as a main agent of the development of the social work profession in Malaysia.

Globalisasi media baharu menyumbang transformasi dalam kaedah penyampaian mesej dakwah Islamiah. Para pendakwah mula menggunakan media sosial khususnya Facebook sebagai medium berdakwah disebabkan pelbagai kelebihan medium ini. Kajian terhadap mesej dakwah Islamiah menerusi medium ini didapati kurang dilaksanakan. Elemen ini penting untuk lebih difahami memandangkan matlamat komunikasi dakwah Islamiah adalah untuk menyampaikan mesej. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti strategi penyampaian dakwah Islamiah dalam halaman Facebook. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif melalui pendekatan analisis tematik. Hasil yang diperoleh mendapati strategi penulisan yang mempunyai pengaruh maklumat merupakan strategi yang kerap diaplikasikan oleh pendakwah. Kajian seterusnya boleh dilaksanakan terhadap kiriman mesej dalam bentuk media lain seperti audio, video dan info grafik. Dapatan kajian dapat berfungsi sebagai rangka rujuk kepada pendakwah dan juga agensi-agensi dakwah dalam mempraktikkan dan menstrategikan pembentukan mesej dakwah menerusi media sosial.

There has been a lot of debate among Muslim scholars on the elements of I'jāz al- Qurān or inimitability of the Qurān, particularly I'jāz bayāni which examines the language aspects. However, the elements of al-Ījāz or brevity and al-Iṭnāb or verbosity, which are part of the elements of I'jāz al-Qurān that influence a text's meaning, are given less attention. This is because most scholars focused their research on specific aspects of ‘Ilm al-Bayān, such as al-istiʻārah, al-tashbīh, alkināyah, and other related topics. al-Ījāz and al-Iṭnāb, however, are classified among the elements of ‘Ilm al-Maʻāni. Therefore, this paper focuses on previous studies written in both Malay and English about the elements of al-Ījāz and al-Iṭnāb in the Quran to see on the scopes those free online studies covered. This study adopted a qualitative approach using the document analysis method and employed a systematic literature review as the research framework. The analysis focuses on the studies’ designs, limitations, research methods, and findings. It was discovered that there were merely six (6) studies related to the elements of al-Ījāz and al-Iṭnāb through open access studies using Google Scholar and the Research Gate database. These findings are significant to indicate the importance of emphasizing issues involving lexical units, word structures, and utterance forms that may have implications on the meaning of the Qur'an. Consequently, it is recommended that previous research findings can be integrated with future research to investigate new issues concerning the rhetorical figures of al-Ījāz and al-Iṭnāb.

Daesh is a new terrorist movement recently known in this millennium. It is a threat to new generation especially in Malaysia nowadays. Malaysian's involvement in this terrorist group should be taken seriously because it was a threat to the country. Various factors contribute to the involvement of Malaysians with this group. These factors need to be viewed more seriously as it can cause the state to become chaotic. Furthermore, the increase of Malaysia’s people in the Daesh group is increasing from day to day. The increase in the number of involvement with the number of arrests is different and brings concern to Malaysia. The influence and threats of this militant group is very fast and appropriate. Consequently, this study was written to examine the factors that led the society in Malaysia to be involved with this Daesh group.

This paper focuses on animation programs presented on al-Hijrah television channel. Al-Hijrah is the Islamic television channel in Malaysia. This study is a programs analysis of the target audience and the topic of the animation programs to find out whether al-Hijrah uses animation as a tool for distributing the Islamic message in an attractive format to audience. The main finding is that al-Hijrah allocates animation not only for children but to the general audience too. Animation of al-Hijrah are not only religious programs, they are a combination of religious and life matters.

Fiqhis a ijtihad issued by Islamic scholars to issue relevant regulations forcurrent circumstances. Fiqhwas originally used to resolve the issue pertaining to worship. But currently,it has been used in other areas including the developmentdiscourse. To see the discussion of fiqh in the development, this paper analysethe application of fiqhthat has been discussed in contemporary perspective. Qualitative analysis show that fiqhapplication in the development discourse were conducted in the development related metters such as economic, politics, civilizations and society.Thus, fiqhis seen as a knowledge that has potential to be applied comprehensively in various human affairs beyond the boundary of time

Artikel ini membincangkan mengenai Nominal Group Technique atau NGT (Teknik Kumpulan Nominal) dalam bidang penyelidikan. Tujuannya adalah untuk melihat sejauhmana teknik ini boleh digunakan dalam bidang penyelidikan Pendidikan Islam. Ia telah diaplikasikan dalam fasa akhir penyelidikan penyelidik berkaitan pembangunan model profesionalisme perguruan Pendidikan Islam berasaskan ‘Riadhah Ruhiyyah’ yang bertujuan untuk melihat aspek kebolehgunaan model tersebut. NGT teknik yang diberikan sebagai contoh dalam artikel ini dapat membantu penyelidik mendapatkan data dengan mudah dan cepat kerana aspek kebolehgunaan model yang diberikan sebagai contoh boleh diperolehi secara terus menerusi peratusan skor item yang diuji.

The crisis faced by foreign students need to be addressed to ensure that the goal of completing their study is achieved successfully. Financial issue has been identified as the main problem. Hence, this study was done to explore major issues faced by foreign students throughout their life in campus. This is a qualitative study using interview sessions as a study design. The subject in this study is a 21 year-old Indonesian student who faced stress and loss of concentration in her study due to financial problem. This study revealed that the financial issue is the common theme experienced by the respondent. This is due to the relevancy that money is one of the most important things to survive in life, and it has become a ‘mediator’ for resources toward basic needs in life. Reality therapy and in particular the techniques of WDEP and SAMIC was employed in the counselling session to help deal with the respondent’s issues. Indeed, this study highlighted the success of using Reality Therapy to help the respondent in making sound decisions to solve issues faced. It was also noted that the therapist plays an active role in helping the respondent to be aware and responsible in solving her issues.

The most widely used social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have changed the way of communication between people especially amongst youth. It has been identified that individuals who spent more time online experienced more symptoms of depression. Therefore, this study was done to identify the level of depression and to find out the relationship between social media and depression among undergraduate students. This is a quantitative study using a survey method involving 150 students of local university in Malaysia. The questionnaire consists of three sections which are demographic information, Social Media Addiction Scale-Student Form (SMAS-SF) and Beck Depression Inventory 2nd Edition (BDI-II). The finding indicates that majority of the respondents (44% ) have minimal depression while only 13.3% has severe depression. Pearson correlation test has been employed to investigate the relationship between social media and depression. The result showed that there is a correlation between social media and depression, r=0.199, p=<0.01. In conclusion, it depicts that social media is significantly related and have positive relationship to depression among students. This study provides valuable information for counsellors and lecturers to identify students who have suffered from depression related to social media use and help in managing the students.

Muslim communication academicians and writers had been calling for portraying Islam in drama. This call has been answered by some directors and producers who attempted to produce drama about Islam. However, these attempts are facing criticism due to misportrayal of the original characters in the drama produced. The objectives of this study are to identify the main characters of The Message and to test the authenticity of the portrayal of the characters of The Message. The main finding of the study is that the characters of The Message were misportrayed. The misportrayal took place on the psychological dimension of the characters. Some of the Muslim characters were degraded, while some non-Muslim characters were elevated. The misportrayal of the characters lies in their voice tone that shows Muslims as barbaric and hegemonic on the first hand, while on the other hand non-Muslims are portrayed as wise and logical people.

Program pembasmian kemiskinan sering kali dilihat dari aspek membantu peningkatan pendapatan isi rumah miskin beragama Islam. Namun begitu, bagaimana dari aspek daya saing pesertanya. Oleh itu dalam makalah ini, penulis ingin melihat adakah Program AZAM Tani dapat membangunkan tahap daya saing peserta beragama Islam di kawasan Seberang Perai, Pulau Pinang. Kaedah adalah kuantitatif dan bancian digunakan untuk kutip 54 sampel dengan menggunakan borang kaji selidik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan daya saing tidak diperoleh secara langsung melalui perlaksanaan program ini. Ia diperoleh melalui pengetahuan dan kemahiran. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam ujian korelasi Spearman. Ia juga menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan di antara pelaksanaan program dengan pengetahuan, pengetahuan dengan daya saing dan kemahiran dengan daya saing.

Bad leadership is a relatively new complex topic. It has been an understudied theme in academic literature and an underappreciated topic among practitioners. The Qur’an support the seven types of bad leadership as suggested by Kellerman and the Qur’an deepen our understanding of this topic. Qur’an speaks about good and bad leadership. Probably, that is the first study to speak about the different kinds of bad leadership and to analyze it under the shade of Qur’an such as: incompetent, rigid, intemperate, callous, corrupt, insular, wicked. Bad leadership in the Qur’an is a new subject in this study. Leaders may be bad in terms of skill or morality. And it is possible to be bad in both. The Qur’an looks at the ongoing costs of bad leadership and the benefits of its study. It argues quite convincingly that bad leadership has a lingering and multigenerational effect. The aim of this study to define bad leadership in Western and Islamic perspectives, to analyze and discuss the Qur’anic verses related to the subject of bad leadership, to extract lessons from the different types of bad leadership in the Qur’an. This study uses textual analysis of the Qur’an and Western literature and discourse analysis to draw parallels between both as well as conclusions on the way to successful leadership.

Bahasa Arab Tujuan Khas atau Arabic for Specific Purposes (ASP) merupakan cabang Disiplin Linguistik Terapan yang mempunyai lapangan dan bidang yang pelbagai, seperti: Bahasa Arab Pelancongan, Bahasa Arab Diplomat, Bahasa Arab Pengajian Islam (AIS: Arabic for Islamic Studies) dan sebagainya. AIS adalah disiplin ilmu yang berkaitan dengan Syariat Islam, Usuluddin dan pengajian Al-Quran dan Al-Hadith. Bahasa Arab dan Pengajian Islam adalah dua istilah yang sinonim, kerana medium penyampaian disiplin tersebut adalah Bahasa Arab. Dengan demikian, keperluan AIS semakin mendesak dalam kalangan pelajar atau institusi yang bertujuan memudahkan pemahaman dan pembelajaran dalam bidang Pengajian Islam. Kajian ini bersifat kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang mengguna instrumen soal selidik dan interview terhadap 10 tenaga pengajar dan dua kumpulan pelajar tahun akhir bagi kursus yang berkaitan dengan Pengajian Islam untuk mendapatkan data “keperluan” (Needs) dan autentiknya. Data menunjukkan bahawa keperluan terhadap AIS samada dari kalangan pelajar atau pensyarah adalah amat tinggi dan mendesak. Dengan demikian, penyelidik mencadangkan agar Bahasa Arab untuk tujuan Pengajian Islam perlu di perkenalkan di peringkat universiti.

Negara Zikir merupakan satu imej dan refleksi jelas bagi sebuah negara yang menjunjung tinggi ajaran ugama Islam sebagai panutan bersendikan al-Quran dan al-Sunnah serta berpegang teguh dengan akidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah bermazhab Syafi’ie di mana budaya amalan zikir bukanlah sesuatu yang baru tetapi sudah lama dipraktikkan dan sebati dalam jiwa masyarakat Islam Negara Zikir. Bahkan keamanan dan kemakmuran yang dinikmati negara serta kesejahteraan dan ketenteraman jiwa yang dikecapi masyarakat Negara Zikir merupakan satu barakah nikmat kurniaan Allah SWT dengan kekuasaan mutlak serta Rahmat Allah jua yang dihubungkan oleh zikir dalam keadaan sentiasa menyebut dan mengingat-Nya. Justeru, kertas kerja ini secara umumnya membahaskan konsep barakah dan konsep Negara Zikir dalam ruang lingkup kerohanian serta kepentingan mengekalkan barakah dalam konteks Negara Zikir. Metod kajian adalah kajian perpustakaan yang menyorot pembahasan konsep barakah dan konsep Negara Zikir. Hasil kajian ini menuntut kefahaman yang jelas dan penghayatan yang tinggi merangkumi entiti jiwa dalaman demi untuk mengekalkan barakah ke arah Baldah Tayyibah Wa Rabb Ghafur (negara yang baik, aman dan makmur, dan Tuhan kamu adalah Tuhan Yang Maha Pengampun).

iPad merupakan sebuah peranti yang direka hasil gabungan komputer dan tablet. Kegunaannya semakin meluas dan meliputi pelbagai urusan sama ada di pejabat dan sekolah ataupun untuk beraktiviti santai seperti bermain permainan video atau melayari internet. Peranti ini turut dijadikan medium untuk menimba ilmu di sekolah seawal tahun 2010 sebagai satu alat bantuan pembelajaran dan pengajaran di sekolah-sekolah terpilih di Malaysia. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk melihat keberkesanan penggunaan iPad dalam kalangan pelajar sekolah menengah dengan menggunakan kaedah kualitatif iaitu temubual separa struktur. Oleh kerana ini adalah kajian awal, para penyelidik hanya menemubual dua orang guru dari setiap sekolah iaitu Sekolah Menengah Imtiaz Ulul Albab, Melaka dan Kolej Genius Insan, Nilai yang menggunakan iPad dalam pembelajaran dan pengajaran mereka. Antara persoalan yang akan dijawab dalam kajian ini termasuklah kebaikan dan keburukan penggunaan iPad dalam kalangan pelajar, rutin penggunaan iPad dalam pembelajaran dan pengajaran sepanjang waktu sekolah, dan cabaran menimba ilmu barakah dengan peranti teknologi komunikasi yang terkini. Artikel ini merupakan ringkasan hasil dapatan awal kajian yang masih sedang berjalan. Hasil temubual awal menunjukkan penggunaan iPad di kedua buah sekolah ini menjadikan pembelajaran lebih efektif dan memudahkan guru-guru berinteraksi untuk menyampaikan maklumat, nota dan tugasan kepada semua murid.
