Kajian ini membincangkan tentang metodologi Imam al-Shaficiyy dalam mengeluarkan hukum-hukum berlandaskan al-Quran dan Sunnah. Terdapat beberapa metod al-Shaficiyy yang ingin dikemukakan oleh penulis berkaitan istinbat hukum berasaskan al-Quran melibatkan penggunaan kaedah umum (al-cAm) dan khusus (al-khas) dalam al-Quran dan takhsis lafaz al-cAm al-Quran dengan Khabar Ahad serta Nasikh dan Mansukh. Bagi istinbat hukum berasaskan sunah pula, penulis membahaskan beberapa metod al-Shaficiyy meliputi hadis Mutawatir, hadis Ahad dan hadis Mursal. Publication Analisis Aspek Bahasa dalam Manuskrip Ta'mim al-Manafi' bi Qira’at alImam Nafi'(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08); ;Abdul Rahim AhmadManuskrip Tacmim al-Manafic bi Qira’at al-Imam Nafic mempunyai kekuatannya yang tersendiri. Ia memaparkan kewibawaan, kecekalan serta kerajinan seorang ulama Nusantara di peringkat dunia. Analisis dari aspek bahasa yang dibuat dalam kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengukur kewibawaan al-Tarmasiy dalam penulisan bahasa arab beliau. Bagi seseorang ilmuan yang membesar di Nusantara dan hanya mendapat pendedahan tentang penghasilan karya dalam bahasa arab ketika usianya menginjak dewasa, adalah menjadi tanda tanya perihal kewibawaan bahasa penulisannya. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah berbentuk kualitatif. Penyelidikan yang dijalankan adalah berdasarkan manuskrip yang merupakan instrumen utama. Pengumpulan data dalam bentuk perkataan dianalisis secara induktif. Fokus dibuat kepada makna yang dikandunginya serta dijelaskan ketika berlaku kesamaran. Penyelidikan kualitatif sebegini menghasilkan dapatan yang bukan melalui prosedur statistik atau lain-lain bentuk pengiraan. Hasilnya didapati bahawa al-Tarmasiy menguasai ilmu bahasa arab serta dapat menerapkan pengetahuannya itu dengan baik. Walaupun terdapat beberapa kesalahan bahasa di sepanjang halaman-halaman manuskripnya, ia tidaklah banyak. Malahan ia adalah kesalahan biasa bagi mana-mana penulis Nusantara ketika berkarya dalam bahasa arab. Implikasi di sebalik kekurangan ini adalah ia berupaya mengukuhkan bukti manuskrip tersebut adalah buah tangan al-Tarmasiy sendiri. Publication An Analysis of the Effects of Secularism and Dualism towards Islamic Education(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08)Adam Adesina Muhammed-LawalIslamic system of education provides a universal approach to teaching and learning and considers them as a continuous process, as was the case in the early ages of Islamic civilization. Conversely, the dual system of education takes a different approach to education by establishing provisions towards the development of mankind. The dual education is essential because it makes an individual vast in the learning approach. The main purpose of this paper is to underscore the rapid spread of secularism in education and the acceptance of dualism in Islamic education. The paper distinctly describes the concept of Islamic education and its philosophy, followed by the Western education system, with a detailed explanation of education dualism and secularism in Muslim communities. By employing a document analysis method, this paper highlights how secularism and dualism in education penetrated and have been accepted by Muslim communities without much scrutiny as well as how they help in one’s development of life. Publication Application of e-Learning for Teaching Hadith in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia: A Literature Review(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08) ;Nurul Nazariah Mohd ZaidiMesbahul HoqueLearning Hadith is substantial to all Muslims as it is a prominent source after Al-Quran. The recent development of smart technologies in era ICT nowadays such as smartphone and digital devices have adopted a new learning style which enabled people to learn anywhere at any time. In Malaysia, most public higher education institutions already have a Learning Management System (LMS) with the participation majority of the lecturers who are using the LMS or simply called elearning. Many studies related to online learning for HEI revealed that e-learning is effective to be used and gave big impacts on students’ performance with the various tools of teaching and learning adapted. However, some of the past studies showed that teaching and learning Hadith is a challenge due to its natural contents which preferred more Musyafahah, Talaqqi or face to face method. Therefore, this present study intends to investigate how e-learning has been used for teaching Hadith course. By applying the textual analysis as a qualitative research method, the researcher seeks to investigate the teaching tools that can be used in e-Learning and identify the studies who discussed the methods for teaching Hadith courses in e-Learning. The discussion discovered that vary tools of teaching have been used to teach the courses in e-Learning application which it relies on the suitability of student learning styles. Kreteria-kreteria hadis sahih secara keseluruhan adalah sanadnya mestilah bersambung, perawi-perawi yang meriwayatkannya mestilah bersifat al- ‘Adalah, mereka juga mesti bersifat al-Dhabit, tidak terdapat al-Syuzuz dan tidak terdapat al-“Illah pada riwayat tersebut. Langkah mengambil kira kredibiliti perawi sebagai syarat hadis sahih dilihat sejajar dengan ajaran Quran daripada surah al-Hujurat, ayat 6 yang mengarahkan umat Islam agar meneliti berita yang disampaikan oleh orang yang fasik. Ayat tersebut secara tidak langsung telah meletakkan sifat pembawa berita sebelum menyuruh umat Islam agar meneliti berita yang disampaikan atau dengan kata lain ayat ini menggambarkan sifat seorang pembawa berita sebelum memerintahkan berita yang dibawanya diteliti. Ayat tersebut walaupun secara zahirnya berbentuk umum iaitu tidak mengkhususkan perintah tersebut dibuat terhadap pembawa hadis Nabi SAW, tetapi ia kemudiannya telah menjadi mekanisma utama dalam menerima kesahihan sesuatu hadis iaitu dengan meneliti kredibiliti perawi. Publication Beyond Maqasid al-Shariah: The Methodological Transcendence of the Concept of Maqasid al-Quran(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08)Tazul IslamThis paper aims to highlight on a new dawn of Maqasid thought called Maqasid al-Quran which yet to be emerged as an independent Islamic science like its predecessor, the concept of Maqasid alShariah. Being related, yet distinctive, Maqasid al-Quran was treated by some Muslim scholars as a next generation of maqasid thought after Maqasid al-Shariah. A contemporary Islamic jurist Taha Jabir Alwani has categorically mentioned that the journey of Maqasid al-Shariah should continue until it reaches to Maqasid al-Quran which could have a wider scope of the methodological capacity to go beyond Islamic legal paradigm. Hence, to explore the methodological implications of Maqasid al-Quran, this research will review Alwani’s views on the subject. Publication Cabaran dalam Pembelajaran Tahfiz dan Sokongan yang Diperlukan oleh Murid di Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan Terpilih di Malaysia(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08) ;Fathiyah Mohd Fakhruddin ;Ahmad Fauzi Mohd Ayub ;Norlizah Che Hassan ;Wan Marzuki Wan JaafarLukman Abd MutalibPembelajaran tahfiz ialah satu bentuk pembelajaran yang mencabar terutama dalam konteks aliran tahfiz ditawarkan bersekali dengan kurikulum arus perdana iaitu KSSM. Cabaran yang dihadapi murid dalam pembelajaran tahfiz boleh menjejaskan pencapaian hafazan dan mengganggu proses pembelajaran mereka. Oleh itu, sokongan daripada beberapa pihak sangat diperlukan bagi membantu murid tahfiz menghadapi cabaran tersebut. Selaras dengan realiti itu, maka kajian ini dijalankan untuk meneroka bentuk cabaran dan sokongan yang diperlukan oleh murid tahfiz yang berada di sekolah agama bantuan kerajaan terpilih di Malaysia. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan bagi menjawab persoalan kajian yang ditentukan iaitu berkisar kepada penerokaan secara mendalam terhadap cabaran dan sokongan yang diperlukan oleh murid tahfiz. Teknik persampelan bertujuan digunakan bagi memilih peserta kajian yang terdiri daripada murid tahfiz yang telah melalui pembelajaran tahfiz sekurangkurangnya tiga tahun. Temu bual mendalam dijalankan terhadap peserta kajian yang melibatkan 11 orang murid tahfiz. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat beberapa cabaran pembelajaran tahfiz yang dihadapi oleh murid iaitu cabaran persekitaran rumah, cabaran kesukaran menghafaz, cabaran gajet dan cabaran rakan sebaya. Seterusnya dapatan juga menunjukkan bahawa terdapat beberapa sokongan yang diperlukan oleh murid tahfiz iaitu sokongan guru, ibu bapa, rakan dan sekolah. Kajian ini memberi implikasi penting bahawa sokongan adalah aspek yang signifikan kepada murid tahfiz agar mereka mampu menghadapi cabaran dalam pembelajaran mereka. These human potentials must be maximizing the usage through Islamic education perspective which is not only developing human’s intellectual but also perform in their spiritual (iman) and attitude (akhlak). Therefore, a study conducted on the title of “The Concept of Sam‘, Baṣar and Fu’ãd as Human Potential in Al-Quran: A Study on Integrated Holistic Education System (IHES) Applied by JAIS” helps to know the contribution of these potentials in teaching and learning system applied by Selangor Religious Institution (JAIS). The purpose of this research is to analyze the concept of human potential sam‘, baṣar and fu’ãd applied in Integrated Holistic Education System (IHES). Thus, this study has been conducted using qualitative method which generally focuses on library research and document analysis to obtain the information needed. Generally, the findings try to find that IHES has been applied human potential of sam‘, baṣar and fu’ãd through the integration of human potential, diversity curriculum and media that have been focused as main elements in IHES. Manusia sejak dari awal kewujudannya telah berinteraksi dengan alam, berasa kagum dengan beberapa makhluk yang dianggap istimewa dan memiliki kuasa adikudrati. Keadaan ini mendorong segelintir manusia mempercayai politeisme, iaitu menyembah pelbagai tuhan di samping Allah SWT. Oleh itu, makalah ini bertujuan untuk membahaskan tentang deskripsi al-Quran terhadap politeisme, khususnya tentang sejarah, bentuk, faktor dan jenis-jenis politeisme. Jenis penelitian ini adalah berteraskan kajian kualitatif dengan mengaplikasikan metode analisis kandungan terhadap teks ayat-ayat al-Quran. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa al-Quran mengandungi data sosiohistoris tentang politeisme dalam umat-umat terdahulu, di samping kritikan terhadap segala bentuk penyembahan selain Allah SWT. Publication Development Of Teachers For Visual Impairment Student : Institute Tahfiz Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08) ;Ak Mohd Aiman Pg Hj Md ZamanMahyuddin HashimInstitut Tahfiz Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah is the only institution in Brunei Darussalam who has Al-Quran study and memorization programs for visually impaired students, but how far their learning effectiveness is not yet known. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the essential elements required in identifying the essential elements required in development of teachers for visually impaired students. Identify the main role of teacher development for visually impaired students. Identify the implementation of the activities that are being implemented by ITQSHHB specifically for visual impairment students and to know the challenges faced by ITQSHHB throughout the implementation of the program. This study is a qualitative study with a case study design with total of 4 informants were selected using a purposive sampling. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that various programs and activities have been conducted and need to be accompanied by high commitment. Studies have shown that they have the potential to teach more visual impairment students, as well as being a link to other different abilities in order to study al-quran in a proper way. However, there are various challenges that stave off this effort among them such as communication, individuals, outsiders, change of time, and lack of teaching staff. Publication The Educational Impact Of Al-Azhar University In South Western Nigeria: A Case Study Of Arabic-Islamic Schools In Yorubaland(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08)Yunus Olatoke Abdus SalamPursuing education in Arab countries generates a controversy among indigenous and home-made scholars in Nigeria. Some believe that it is enough to pursue religious education within the country, while some others uphold the standpoint that Muslim students should pursue their studies in Arab countries like Al-Azhar. Hence, there is a lot of confusion and controversy about the impact of Al Azhar University in Nigeria. However, this study aims to investigate the impact of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt on Arabic-Islamic schools in the Yorubaland, Nigeria. This is done through investigation of its curriculum, scholarship, and sending of Al-Azhar's delegates to teach in Arabic-Islamic schools in Yorubaland, Nigeria. It discusses Islamic religious affairs and the role played by the Nigerian Muslim scholars in general and in the South Western Nigeria in particular. Furthermore, it addresses the argument bothering on the need to pursue religious education within and outside the country. This study also examines the difference between Al-Azhar educational system and the Nigerian Arabic- Islamic educational system and investigates the need for continuation or otherwise of Al-Azhar’s venture in the Nigerian Arabic Islamic Schools. This study is both historical and analytical in nature. It used data gathered via primary and secondary sources and utilizes both qualitative and quantitative methods. Findings from this study revealed the suitability of Al-Azhar educational system for Nigeria. It also showed the continuous need to pursue Al-Azhar education by Nigerians. The need to introduce some Western courses into Al-Azhar educational curriculum to facilitate easy fitting of the graduates into Nigerian educational system also emanated from this study. The study recommends the completion of secondary education in Nigeria by intending Nigerians seeking Al-Azhar education in order to facilitate their usefulness in the Nigerian western-oriented educational system upon their return.1 34 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Effect Of Diaphragmatic Breathing Technique On Stress And Memory Performance Of Tahfiz Students(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08) ;Nur Syahirunisa HassanMariam Adawiah DzulkifliDiaphragmatic breathing technique has been known for its beneficial effects on physical and psychological health. This technique has been used widely as an intervention for people with some psychological problems such as Alzheimer and ADHD. There is still very limited research conducted on the use of the technique on normal population. Hence, this paper reports a research that aim to examine the effect of diaphragmatic breathing technique on stress and memory performance of Tahfiz students or students who memorizes Quran. It was hypothesized that practicing diaphragmatic breathing technique would reduce the stress level and increase the memory performance of the students who memorize the Quran. The research methodology involves the use of a within-group experimental design on 50 IIUM undergraduate Tahfiz students. Students’ stress level is measured using Perceived Stress Scale while the memory performance is measured using Words Recall Test. Based on the analysis using paired-sample t-test, it has been found that practicing diaphragmatic breathing technique give positive impact on students’ stress level and memory performance. The findings from this research provides some evidences on the effects of using diaphragmatic breathing techniques for improving the psychological well-being of students who memorize the Quran.151 7 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Factors effecting motivation to learn have been found in several categories. This paper aims to explore the individual factors effecting motivation to learn in relation to the Quranic point of view. Using documental literature review such as books, magazines and journals, this study found sixteen individual factors that strengthen the willingness of individuals to achieve the goal of learning. Similarly, the Holy Quran found to support these sixteen factors which significantly affect the learner’s intention to acquire their learning objective positively. Publication Forensic Science Application towards Rahmatan Lil Alamin: An Appraisal within the Context of Justice(USIM Press, 2019) ;Ahmad Syukran Baharuddin,Muhammad Hazim Ahmad,The idea of Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin is predominantly derived from Surah al-Anbiya, verse 107. The lexicon “rahmat” connotes various interpretations that include Islam and al-Qur’an. Meanwhile, al- Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) which contains principles and injunctions as a proclamation and guideline to mankind. This revelation intends to preserve the public interests while preventing from harm. The objective of this study is to analyse the appraisal of forensic science application within the context of justice. This study aims to appraise the nexus between concept Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin and al-Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah. This qualitative study used documentary research method in collecting primary and secondary data. The data have been analysed using content analysis method by adapting inductive reasoning. The appraisal of forensic science application within the context of justice indicates numbers of findings; the forensic science application is permissible in Islam. It also denotes forensic science have been long practiced since the prophet era, where numbers of forensic methods have been applied to uphold the justice at that time. Apart from that, there was also a nexus between the concept of Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin and al-Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah. The relation can be seen from the common purpose of both concepts which are preserving the public interest and preventing harm. Therefore, the application of forensic science shall be the meeting point between forensic science application, concept Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin and al-Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah. It bridges the gap between science and shariah. This study contributes in building the integration between science and shariah elements through application of forensic science and the concept of Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin. This study has also indirectly proved the concept of al-shumūl, al-thabāt, and al-murūnah in Islamic teachings that encompassed various fields of knowledge. Namun begitu, perubahan sosio budaya yang berlaku telah memperlihatkan golongan wanita pada masa kini bergerak aktif dalam sistem masyarakat dan sebahagiannya bertindak sebagai pencari nafkah sama ada utama atau sampingan. Justeru, perubahan tersebut mengundang perhatian golongan liberal untuk mengkritik hukum Islam berkaitan pembahagian harta pusaka. Mereka berpandangan bahawa pembahagian harta nisbah 2:1, iaitu lelaki melebihi wanita sudah tidak relevan dan mempunyai unsur diskriminasi terhadap hak wanita serta perlu diubah bagi menjamin keadilan dan kesamarataan hak. Justeru, penulisan kertas kerja ini akan menganalisis hak wanita dalam pembahagian harta pusaka berdasarkan perspektif al-Qur’an dan Sunnah Nabi SAW, seterusnya menjelaskan hikmah perlaksanaan pembahagian tersebut. Bagi mencapai objektif tersebut, kajian yang berbentuk kualitatif ini akan menjalankan kaedah pengumpulan data yang dilaksanakan melalui kajian kepustakaan untuk mendapatkan data-data-yang berkaitan dengan amalan masyarakat Melayu. Seterusnya data-data tersebut akan dianalisis melalui kaedah induktif dan deduktif dengan bersandarkan al-Qur’an dan kitab-kitab hadith induk seperti al-Kutub al-Sittah. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa hak harta pusaka yang diberikan kepada kaum wanita sebanyak satu perdua, satu pertiga dan satu perempat serta satu perenam atau satu perlapan yang diamalkan dalam kalangan masyarakat Melayu berteraskan konsep faraid adalah selaras dengan nas-nas yang terdapat dalam al-Qur’an dan Sunnah Nabi SAW. Di samping itu, hasil kajian juga menunjukkan bahawa hikmah perlaksanaan pembahagian harta pusaka yang dijelaskan oleh al-Qur’an dan Sunnah nabi SAW, dimana pembahagian nisbah harta pusaka lelaki melebihi wanita adalah sesuai dengan peranan dan tanggungjawab yang digalas mereka serta memenuhi konsep keadilan yang dianjurkan Islam.13 280 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Qur’ān recitation has always been an important aspect of a Muslim’s piety. Currently, the public have started to disseminate information and miracles pertaining to the Qur’ān using websites. The innovation in Qur’ān learning has become an acceptable trend. Furthermore, there are various methodologies of reciting al-Qur’ān found on websites. The Internet phenomenon makes the access to information easier and at the fingertips. This is a new dimension and chance to spread Qur’ānic knowledge globally. Thus, the objective of this paper is to investigate the methodologies of learning al-Qur’ān from five websites, with learning al-Qur’ān on Bayyinah.com as a main sample. This paper applies qualitative methodology involving documentation and descriptive method in the data collection process. Thematic analysis data has been done using atlas.ti software for phrase analysis. The analysis is focused on specific studies that relate to the methodology of learning al-Qur’ān through websites. The review has resulted in seven main themes relating to the methodologies of learning al-Qur’ān on websites, which are Learn Arabic alphabets, Explain with nahw, Explain with Graphics, Explain with Examples, Tutorials, al-Qur’ān Imagery, and al-Qur’ān Dialogue. Learning al-Qur’ān through websites makes the process fun and enjoyable. It is a simple, easy, enjoyable, meaningful, and acceptable process, which also follows the latest trend in society. Publication Kaedah Menghafaz Ayat Mutashabih Lafaz: Kajian Di Darul Quran, Jakim Dan Jabatan Al-Quran Dan Al-Qiraat KUIS(Penerbit USIM, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2019-10-08); ; ; ; Menghafaz al-Quran mempunyai cabaran dan kesukaran yang memerlukan kepada kaedah hafazan yang berkesan dan bersistematik bagi membantu dan memudahkan proses menghafaz dan menjaganya dari lupa. Di antara cabaran terbesar yang dihadapi oleh penghafaz al-Quran adalah mengingati ayat–ayat mutashabih lafaz, iaitu ayat-ayat al-Quran yang sama atau hampir sama dari sudut lafaznya. Kesukaran dalam menghafaz dan mengingati ayat-ayat mutashabih lafaz ini menuntut kepada kaedah pengajaran dan pembelajaran khusus sama ada dari pihak institusi tahfiz, guru dan juga pelajar. Justeru, objektif kajian adalah untuk mengenal pasti kaedah hafazan di kalangan pelajar tahfiz al-Quran terhadap ayat mutashabih lafaz, dengan menjadikan Darul Quran Jakim dan Jabatan al-Quran dan al-Qiraat KUIS sebagai lokasi kajian. Kajian ini dibina berdasarkan metodologi kualitatif yang menggunakan kaedah temubual separa berstruktur sebagai instumen kajian. 30 orang pelajar tahfiz institusi tersebut dipilih sebagai peserta kajian. Kajian ini mendapati bahawa tahap penguasaan hafazan ayat mutashabih lafaz dalam kalangan pelajar adalah lemah dan tiada bahan pembelajaran khusus bagi menangani permasalahan tersebut.3 52
