Pada zaman ini, masalah yang sedang kita hadapi adalah perhatian kita terlalu sedikit dan singkat untuk mengetahui kaedah-kaedah bahasa Arab dan mengetahui kepentingannya dalam memahami sesuatu nas dan tujuan-tujuannya dengan melihat kepada operasi, konseptual, eksplisit, metafora, tafsiran umum dan khusus di mana semua ini memerlukan pengetahuan bahasa yang lengkap. Oleh itu, pemahaman terhadap fungsi Dalalah Nahwiyyah dan Balaghiyyah dalam pembinaan hukum perlu diambil perhatian dengan cara pengukuhan ciri-ciri unit modul akademik tersebut. Kajian ini menggunakan model analisis keperluan Hutchinson and Waters, 1987 yang terdiri daripada Kekurangan, Keperluan dan Kehendak untuk mengumpul data utama. Manakala data sokongan diperolehi daripada analisis dokumen-dokumen yang berkaitan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa majoriti responden sudah memahami kebanyakkan tajuk-tajuk berkaitan ilmu Nahu dan dalalahnya dengan baik walapun terdapat sebahagian mereka yang masih belum menguasainya. Dari sudut ilmu Balaghah pula, majoriti responden menunjukkan ketidakpastian dengan tahap pemahaman dan penguasaan mereka terhadap ilmu Balaghah dan dalalahnya. Oleh itu, kita dapati majoriti responden sangat bersetuju untuk mempelajari ilmu Nahu, Balaghah dan dalalahnya di samping memahami fungsi-fungsinya dalam mengistinbat hukum. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Analisis Keperluan Platform Bahan Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab: Kajian Awal Pusat Tamhidi, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)(Penerbit USIM, 2022) ;Azlan Shaiful Baharum ;Ummu-Hani Abas ;Ahmad Asyraf Mat Ali ;Mohd Naser Mohd Sabri ;Mohamad Hazwan Abdul RahmanMohamad Shukri YazidPara pelajar Pusat Tamhidi USIM wajib mempelajari kemahiran bahasa Arab terutama sekali kemahiran bertutur. Ia merupakan sebahagian daripada silibus dan modul dalam meningkatkan kemahiran berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Arab dengan fasih dan lancar. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mendapat pandangan awal berkenaan platform pengajaran kemahiran bertutur bahasa Arab yang efektif yang boleh menjadi nilai tambah dalam menguasai kemahiran tersebut. Ia akan direka bentuk bertujuan untuk menyediakan satu platform digital yang mengumpulkan senarai laman sesawang dan kamus elektronik yang mudah di akses, interaktif dan berkesan berdasarkan keutamaan kendiri (self-preference) dan ia juga bersifat mesra pengguna (self-explanatory dan self- delivery) di mana pelajar dapat melakukan pembelajaran kendiri dengan hanya bergantung kepada penerangan dan petunjuk daripada arahan-arahan platform. Soalan kaji selidik ringkas melibatkan 647 orang responden yang merupakan pelajar Pusat Tamhidi yang terdiri daripada pelbagai program yang ditawarkan. Hasil kajian awal mendapati responden sangat optimis dengan platform digital ini. Ia bakal memberi impak yang signifikan kepada para pelajar, pensyarah, Pusat Tamhidi, dan kepada USIM secara menyeluruh kerana ia menyediakan satu nilai tambah dalam mengukuhkan kemahiran bertutur dalam kalangan pelajar Pusat Tamhidi, USIM. Justeru, diharapkan kajian ini dapat menjadi pemula yang baik bagi mewujudkan platform pertama seumpamanya yang mengumpulkan semua laman sesawang dan aplikasi belajar bahasa arab yang berstruktur dan sistematik berdasarkan tahap penguasaan bahasa Arab para pelajar itu sendiri. Publication Aplikasi Kaedah Qawalib Bagi Meningkatkan Kemahiran Membina Ayat Mudah Dalam Bahasa Arab Mua’siroh Murid-Murid Tingkatan Dua Sekolah Agama Menengah Hulu Langat, Cheras, Selangor(Global Academic Excellence, 2019) ;Azlan Shaiful BaharumSiti Munyra Alhaj Md ZyadiKajian kes selama 4 minggu ini bertujuan untuk melihat keberkesanan kaedah qawalib untuk meningkatkan kemahiran membina ayat mudah dalam bahasa Arab Mu’asiroh dalam kalangan murid sekolah menengah agama. Sampel kajian ini adalah 32 orang pelajar Tingkatan 2 Tarmizi yang sedang belajar di Sekolah Agama Menengah Hulu Langat (Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan). Borang kaji selidik diedarkan kepada sampel kajian untuk melihat respon mereka terhadap minat dan keupayaan membina ayat dalam bahasa Arab. Hasil dapatan kajian mendapati bahawa mereka sangat berminat terhadap bahasa Arab tetapi kekangan dalam mendapatkan perbendaharaan kata yang sesuai dan kekurangan perkataan untuk membina ayat yang gramatis dalam bahasa Arab. Publication The Effect Of Using Metacognitive Strategies On Developing Critical Thinking Skills Among Students Of Islamic Science University Of Malaysia(Usuli Faqih Research Centre PLT. 2018, 2018) ;Siti Rosilawati Roslan ;Ghazali ZainuddinAzlan Shaiful BaharumThe study aimed to identify the effect of using Metacognitive Strategies on critical thinking skills among students of the Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The quasi-experimental method was applied in the study. The respondents in the study consist of 52 students who were in first year of bachelor level at the Islamic Science University Malaysia for the first Semester, 2015/2016. They were selected purposively and distributed randomly into two groups; 26 students in experimental group and the other 26 students in control group. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers designed a teacher`s manual and student`s worksheets according to the Metacognitive Strategy. The data were collected using a research instruments: a pre and post test in Watson-Glaser's' Critical Test. The results of this study showed that there was also statistical significant difference between the groups in critical thinking skills, in favor of the experimental group. In light of these results, the study recommended that using of Metacognitive Strategies in teaching Arabic Reading should be expanded to other educational stages in Malaysia. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Effectiveness Of Blended Learning Substitute (PTG) Towards Arabic For Culture & Health Course Among SMBAK Students(Usuli Faqih Research Centre PLT., 2023) ;Azlan Shaiful BaharumAhmad Adnin HusinThere are various ways of learning Arabic including the Blended Learning Substitute (PTG) which was applied at the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia a year ago. The study therefore seeks to analyse its effectiveness in the Arabic Language for Culture And Health course among students of the Bachelor of Arabic Language with Communications. The study aims to understand the extent to which PTG affects students' achievement in the subject. The study focuses on the impact of PTG on improving the ability of these students to understand the subject. It also aims to reveal students' perceptions of using PTG in their learning. This study draws on a descriptive quantitative analysis approach, distributing a set of questionnaires containing questions regarding the effects of PTG on this substance. The study obtained the test results and analyzed them in the Social Science Statistical Analysis Programme (SPSS). Questionnaires are also distributed to students to identify solutions for this study. One of its most important results is the rapid adaptation of students to the PTG method of learning cultural and health Arabic during the second year of their studies. The impact of students on this PTG is more comprehensive as mentioned. One of its most important recommendations is to increase interest in providing more comprehensive improvements to students in the follow-up of subjects that have been applied in the current PTG method in the Arabic learning process in this university. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The Errors Of The Al-Idafah And Al-Sifah In Arabic Writing Among Students Of Sekolah Agama Menengah Hulu Langat Selangor, Malaysia(Usuli Faqih Research Centre PLT, 2020) ;Azlan Shaiful BaharumMohammad Loqman IbrahimThis research aims to analyse grammatical error in idofah and sifat occurred among form 2 students at Sekolah Agama Menengah Hulu Langat. The population of the research is 31 students which were selected randomly. The sample was based on final examination student’s paper in year 2018. The data presented according to the qualitative analysis method. The results shows that the number of common errors done by student in idofah is more than the number of common errors in sifat. The number of errors done by student in idofah is 32 errors and the most common errors is the errors of ta’rif as it should be tankir which is 21 errors. After that, the number of mistakes in sifat done by student is 13 errors and the most common errors comes from the errors of muzakkar as it should be muannas which is 7 errors. The researcher suggests to give more exercises on writing for students in idofah and sifat chapters. Publication Kesalahan Ortografi dan Implikasinya melalui Penulisan Esei Berpandu Pelajar Bukan Penutur Arab: Satu Kajian di Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Authors Azlan Shaiful Baharum(UTM PUBLISHER, 2022) ;Azlan Shaiful Baharum ;Rosni SamahAsma Abdul RahmanThis research aims to identify ortografical errors in directed essay written by the bachelor of Arabic and Communication students (SMBaK), Faculty of Major Language Studies USIM. The samples consist of 33 male and female students. They are requested to write an essay. From the essay, the reasearchers find their errors and analyze the frequencies. Besides that the errors has been listed out as examples in this research. It is hoped that the research also helping them by giving some suggestions to solve the errors problem. It will be a reference to the teachers in essay writing. Besides that, this research uses the error analysis methodology adapted from Aly Ahmed Madkour (2006). At the end of the research, it is concluded that the usage of Hamzah Wasl dan Qath’ is the highest errors in the frequent list. Thus, teachers should play an important role to make sure that the students undertand this grammatical rule. The study sample is 59 students. They are from year 3 students in Bachelor of Arabic Language and Communication (SMBAK). The data were collected through a questionnaire using the Microsoft Forms. The results of the study found that the students gained many benefits of learning the course, even though they faced many shortcomings and challenges. They tried their best to overcome disruptions in the online T&L process. The students hoped that they can continue their face-to-face learning as soon as possible despite following the new norms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the government in the period of pandemic recently. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Nowadays, the problem we are facing is our lack of attention to know the methods of the Arabic language and its function in understanding a text and its purposes by looking at operational, conceptual, explicit, metaphorical, general, and specific interpretations in where all this requires a complete knowledge of the language. Therefore, the understanding of the function of Grammatical and Rhetorical Connotations (Dalalat Nahwiyyah and Balaghiyyah) in the construction of law needs to be taken into account through strengthening the features of the academic module unit. This study uses the needs analysis model of Hutchinson and Waters, 1987 which consists of Lacks, Needs, and Wants to collect primary data. While the supporting data is obtained from the analysis of relevant documents. The findings of the study show that the majority of respondents already understand most of the topics related to Arabic Grammar and that they do so well even though some of them still have not mastered it. In term of Arabic Rhetoric, the majority of respondents showed uncertainty with their level of understanding and mastery of this knowledge. Publication Pendekatan Uslub Khabariy Menerusi Lafaz Zalzalah Dalam Al-Quran(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2021-09-09) ;Khairul Asyraf Mohd Nathir, ;Rosni Samah,Azlan Shaiful BaharumKajian ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan mengenai uslub khabary menerusi lafaz gegaran (zalzalah) dalam al-Quran. Objektif kajian adalah untuk mengenal pasti elemen dan fokus uslub khabary bagi konteks gegaran (zalzalah) dalam al-Qur’an. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif yang menggunakan kaedah analisis kandungan dengan membuat penelitian terhadap teks secara tekstual dan kontekstual. Bahan kajian merupakan potongan ayat al-Qur’an yang terkandung padanya lafaz gegaran (zalzalah). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat dua konteks makna yang melibatkan lafaz gegaran (zalzalah) dalam al-Quran iaitu gegaran yang merujuk kepada gempa bumi dan gegaran yang merujuk kepada getaran hati manusia. Secara keseluruhannya, terdapat empat ayat gegaran yang menggunakan pendekatan uslub khabariy yang membawa makna haqīqiy dan majāziy. Makna haqīqiy adalah merujuk kepada gegaran kepada bumi yang akan berlaku pada hari kiamat kelak dan makna majāziy pada ayat yang lain merujuk kepada goncangan pendirian kepada hati-hati orang beriman. Publication Pengajaran Kemahiran Bertulis Pelajar Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Berteraskan Analisis Pelbagai Kesalahan Bahasa dalam Sintaksis Bahasa Arab(INSANIAH, UMK, 2020) ;Azlan Shaiful BaharumMohamad Hazwan Abdul RahmanKajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji persepsi model kemahiran bertulis dalam kalangan pelajar Bahasa Arab Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Kajian ini juga penting untuk menilai keberkesanan strategi pelajar dalam kemahiran bertulis Bahasa Arab beteraskan kaedah analisis kesalahan bahasa. Bagi mengumpulkan data, kajian ini menggunakan kaedah lapangan analisa kuantitatif yang menggunakan instrumen borang soal selidik. Ia diedarkan kepada 20 orang guru bahasa Arab di universiti ini sebagai responden kajian. Antara hasil dapatan kajian ialah 70% responden amat bersetuju bahawa kesalahan Sorof (morfologikal) menyumbang kepada kelemahan pelajar dalam kemahiran bertulis. Lebih 60% responden amat bersetuju sebab berlakunya kesilapan ialah kurang membaca buku dan rujukan bahasa Arab, dan tidak mahir dengan kaedah Nahu dan Sorof.Sebanyak 45%-50% responden pula amat bersetuju bahawa penterjemahan langsung daripada bahasa ibunda ke bahasa Arab mungkin memberi kesan dalam memperbaiki kesalahan bahasa dalam penulisan pelajar. Akhir sekali, beberapa cadangan penambahbaikan dikemukakan untuk kemahiran bertulis ini di akhir kajian.. Publication Persepsi Pelajar Sorof II (BAL1023) Terhadap Pembelajaran Dalam Talian Semasa Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP): Satu Tinjauan(Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, 2020-10-15) ;Azlan Shaiful Baharum ;Khairul Asyraf Mohd NathirAmani NawiKajian ringkas ini bertujuan untuk melihat persepsi pelajar tentang pengalaman mereka dalam menghadapi susasana pembelajaran ketika musim PKPP. Fokus utama kepada subjek Sorof 2 (BAL 1023) pada Semester 2 2019/2020. Sampel kajian diambil daripada pelajar KBB1 dan KBB2 daripada pelajar tahun 1, Sarjana Muda Bahasa Arab Kesusasteraan Islam seramai 45 orang. Kaedah mendapatkan maklumat ialah melalui temubual maya menggunakan aplikasi WhatsApp. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa pelajar menghadapi banyak masalah ketika melalui proses pembelajaran dalam talian terutamanya masalah talian internet dan gangguan persekitaran, termasuk suasana pembelajaran yang tidak menyokong dan tanggungjawab di rumah. Diharapkan pandemik ini tidak berterusan supaya pelajar dapat meneruskan pembelajaran secara bersemuka di samping dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan pembelajaran dalam talian selari dengan norma baharu dan Prosedur Operasi Standard (SOP) yang ditetapkan oleh kerajaan. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Persepsi Pelajar Universiti Awam Terhadap Kesalahan Bahasa Arab, Faktor Penyumbang Dan Implikasi(UTM Press, 2015) ;Azlan Shaiful BaharumRosni SamahArabic learning in Malaysia has been around for a long time. However, according to research, the language skills among students are still unsatisfactory. In writing, they are facing various difficulties in constructing a good essay as seen in the language errors occurred. Thus, this research is going to look at the students’ perceptions on language errors, factors and implications. The main objective of this research is to indentify types of errors, factors that contribute to the errors and its implications. 113 fourth year students from five public universities in Malaysia were chosen as samples. They were majoring in Arabic Language. The results show that the most frequent language errors in their writing are syntactical errors. The main factors are their inability to understand the grammatical rules and lack of writing exercise. Besides, the main implication is that the students are unable to write academic article for their final year project. This research also suggests three ways to overcome the weakness; the students should use the Arabic Learning Strategies, the teaching methodology has to be adapted in order to be in line with writing skill, and the reading materials have to be diversified and augmented. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Platform Bahan Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab Interaktif dalam Proses P&P: Kajian Awal Keperluan di USIM(AL-HAJJAJ Enterprise, 2023) ;Azlan Shaiful Baharum ;Ummu Hani Abas ;Ahmad Asyraf Mat Ali ;Mohd Naser Mohd Sabri ;Mohamad Hazwan Abdul RahmanMohamad Shukri YazidUniversiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) mandates that all its students acquire proficiency in speaking Arabic. It is covered in the curriculum and module on developing fluent Arabic communication skills. This study was designed to assess the effectiveness of Arabic language teaching platforms that could be used to improve Arabic skills. This platform will provide a digital platform that collects a list of interactive and effective Arabic language learning websites, online dictionaries that are based on students' personal interests and are also easy to use (Self-Explanatory and Self-delivery). A brief survey was completed by 647 Tamhidi Centre students from various programs. The preliminary study's findings revealed that respondents were optimistic about this digital platform. It will have a significant impact on students, lecturers, the Tamhidi Centre, and USIM as whole because it adds value to strengthening speaking skills among Tamhidi Centre students and USIM. As a result, it is hoped that this study will serve as a good starting point for developing the first platform for collecting all structured and systematic Arabic language learning websites and applications based on the students' Arabic language proficiency. Publication دلالة المفعول به المعرّف بـــــ (ال) في أحاديث الأربعين النووية(USIM Press, 2021-05) ;Ummu-Hani Abas ;Azlan Shaiful BaharumMohd Azizul Rahman ZabidinAlif Lam is a simple binary composite character of alif and lam with various types: ‘ahdiyyah (‘default’ alif lam), jinsiyyah (generic), zāidah (additional), and mauṣūliyyah (relative). If the alif lam is maf’ul bih (prefixed to the direct object), it is either to define jins, called jinsiyyah, or to define its typical share called the ‘ahdiyyah. This research aims to study the meaning of definite object preceded by alif lam in the famous Forty Hadiths of al-Imām al-Nawawī which represents a problem among students to understand deeply the meaning of Hadith. This research was relied on the descriptive analysis method, where it describes definite object preceded by alif lam along with to analyse the alif lam from syntactic and semantic sides. The study has reached some pivotal results which are: the maf’ul bih associated with alif lam which denote ta’rīf (definition) and ta’yīn (specification) occur in twenty-two places, while for istighrāq, ihāṭhah and shumūl of alif lam in nineteen places, and the haqiqah (reality) and tabi’iyyah (nature) in thirteen places. The conclusion of this study establishes the multiple conditions that occur in the sentences and lead to different meanings benefited the grammarians in setting the grammatical rules. This study also found that this approach helps the students in understanding the prophetic texts correctly. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

NoorThe research deals with the translation of English collocations into Arabic. In the field of translation, collocation plays an important role whereby it needs to be taken into serious attention by translators because it needs to be well-defined during translation as this will affect the quality of the translation itself. The methodology used in this research was based on qualitative method; in-depth interview with 15 final year undergraduate students of Faculty of Major Languages Studies, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). This research aims to find the problems facedby the students which include; grammar, lexical, and cultural. The result concludes the main problem faced by the students relates to grammatical problem followed by lexical, cultural and other problems related to their influence on their mother tongue, lack of vocabulary, difficulty in understanding vocabulary, frequency of language practice, literal and mechanism translation. These findings will enhance the quality of translating and interpreting collocations. This study believes that the gap in translating English into Arabic collocation could be bridged in the future and thus motivate further research into other important areas of language teaching and learning. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
