Publication A Study on The Effectiveness of Numbering Code System in Music Learning Among Beginners(Kolej PERMATA Insan, 2025) ;Saidatul Syifa’ Rifhani Binti Muhamad MazuanNorazlina Binti SubaniThis research examines the effectiveness of the numbering code system as an instructional approach in beginner-level music education, offering it as an alternative to the traditional alphabet code system and conventional staff notation. Music education has long relied on staff notation, a system that requires learners to interpret an intricate set of symbols, clefs, rhythmic values, and theoretical concepts. While this method provides a strong foundation for advanced study, it can feel overwhelming and discouraging for beginners who encounter music for the first time. Many learners struggle with the cognitive demands of simultaneously recognizing symbols, internalizing rhythmic structures, and applying theoretical principles. As a result, early experiences with staff notation often lead to frustration, reduced motivation, and slower progress. These challenges highlight the need for more accessible and learner-friendly teaching methods that support skill development while nurturing enjoyment and confidence. The numbering code system addresses these concerns by simplifying musical notes into numerical values, creating a more direct and easier alternative for learners. Instead of struggling with complex notation, students are guided through music using numbers that represent pitches and sequences, making the learning process more intuitive. This approach allows beginners to focus on essential skills such as note recognition, rhythm, and melodic progression without the burden of decoding hard notation. To explore the practical value of this system, the study introduced a customized learning tool which is a designed music box or instrument built on the numbering code system. This tool served both as an instructional aid and an assessment device, offering a hands-on, interactive medium through which learners could actively engage with music while also allowing researchers to evaluate progress systematically. The customized instrument was created to assess improvements in critical areas in learning music, including sight-reading, rhythmic accuracy, pitch identification, and overall musical performance. By offering a playful yet structured way of interacting with music, the instrument helped to create a learning environment that was both motivating and less intimidating. This not only facilitated measurable progress but also encouraged learners to view music education as an engaging and rewarding activity, rather than a challenging academic task. To ensure the reliability and depth of findings, a mixed-methods approach was adopted. Quantitative data were gathered through pre-tests and post-tests, which provided measurable evidence of students’ growth. The pre-test established a baseline of ability, while the post-test measured the extent of learning gains after exposure to the respective teaching methods. Besides that, these numerical measures, qualitative data were collected through interviews and classroom observations. The interviews captured students’ personal reflections, emotions, and challenges during the process, while the observations documented patterns of engagement, excitement, and confidence displayed during lessons. This balanced approach allowed the research not only to measure outcomes but also to understand how students experienced the learning journey itself. The findings indicate that the numbering code system offers clear advantages for beginners. Learners taught with this method demonstrated quicker progress in foundational skills, showed greater engagement with music activities, and reported higher levels of confidence compared to those taught with traditional staff notation. The simplified system reduced initial barriers, making music feel more approachable and achievable. In particular, students appeared more willing to participate, less anxious about mistakes, and more motivated to continue exploring music. These results suggest that the numbering code system can act as a bridge into music education, particularly for students who may otherwise feel discouraged by the complexity of traditional notation3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

However, during puberty, hormonal fluctuations can trigger excessive sebum production, which negatively affects the condition of the skin. These changes often lead to oily skin, clogged pores, and facial acne. This study aims to identify common facial skin problems among students at Maahad Tahfiz Negeri Pahang (MTNP) and to explore the factors influencing their selection of facial care products. A total of 163 MTNP students aged between 13 and 17 years participated in this research by completing a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The results revealed that oily skin is the most frequently reported issue among teenagers especially at the beginning of age 14. Excess oil buildup tends to block pores, resulting in acne. This is one of the most common and distressing skin conditions in teenagers. Facial acne has been found to significantly affect the quality of life for teenagers by influencing their self-confidence and social interactions. Furthermore, the study also found that students tend to prefer facial cleansers from local brands that emphasise the use of natural ingredients. These brands are often seen as more suitable and gentle for young and sensitive skin. The findings of this research provide valuable insight into the skincare needs of teenagers and can help guide the development of local facial care products. By focusing on natural ingredients available in Malaysia, future products can better meet consumer expectations while supporting sustainable and relevantness skincare solutions - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication An Inquiry into How a Narrow Curriculum Shapes Social Engagement Among Madrasah Students(Kolej PERMATA Insan, 2025) ;Aisha NurZakiah Binte ZamZam ;Doaa Slassi ;Nur Herlyn Inshirah Binte Abdul HalimIrdina Nabilah Binte Mohammad IdrisThis study explores the impact of a restricted curriculum in madrasah education on students’ levels of social participation. A restricted curriculum, defined by the limited inclusion of general knowledge and humanities subjects, may hinder students’ engagement with broader societal issues. Social participation here refers to involvement in activities beyond school, such as volunteering, attending public events, or engaging in discussions on current affairs with people from diverse backgrounds. The research focuses on students aged 17–18 from four madrasahs in Singapore—Alsagoff, Aljunied, Ma’arif, and Wak Tanjong. Data was collected through surveys and case study, with five students from Madrasah Alsagoff. Survey results show that while students value their religious education, many perceive a gap between their curriculum and the demands of wider society. There is a clear interest in broader subject offerings, such as Social Studies and Technology, as well as more opportunities for interaction outside religious contexts. Diploma 1 students expressed a strong need for a more diverse curriculum beyond religious studies, emphasizing gaps in social sciences, life skills, and financial literacy. While many are aware of societal issues through media, they feel unprepared to engage with the wider world due to an insular education. Limited cross-community exposure left them socially unready and lacking confidence. These findings reflect broader concerns about balancing religious education with real-world readiness, pointing to the need for curriculum reform that supports both spiritual and secular growth. Overall, students from madrasahs with narrower curricula show lower levels of participation in secular community life, interfaith events, and volunteer work. However, those who joined supplementary programs displayed greater levels of engagement. This study adds to ongoing discussions on curriculum reform in religious schools, advocating for a more balanced education that supports both religious identity and active citizenship. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

One commonly applied approach involves the use of auditory stimuli. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of digital sound-based therapy using delta binaural beats combined with white noise in enhancing adolescents’ sleep quality, measured with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). A multigroup pretest–posttest experimental design was employed with three intervention groups: silence (S), white noise (WN), and delta binaural beats combined white noise (DWN). The interventions were conducted among 60 students of SMA Negeri 1 Bawang for 30 minutes before bedtime over seven consecutive days. Results showed an overall improvement in sleep quality, indicated by decreased PSQI scores across all groups. The S group demonstrated an average reduction of 2.40 points (24.87%), the WN group 2.00 points (20.94%), and the DWN group the highest at 2.60 points (26.26%). Statistical analysis also confirmed a significant group difference in PSQI score reduction (p = 0.039), with the DWN group ranked as the most effective. Moreover, the DWN group consistently improved both the proportion of respondents with “good” sleep quality and their average sleep duration. Although sound-based interventions show promising potential for improving sleep, further studies with larger samples, longer intervention periods, and additional EEG-based indicators are recommended. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Beyond Memorization: Unveiling the most Effective Techniques for Quran Memorization and Murajaah(Kolej PERMATA Insan, 2025) ;Nurbaizura binti Hussain ;Husain bin Haznizul ;Fathi bin Mohd Saiful Amri ;Syed Muhammad Ammar bin Syed Azman ;Munsif Fathi bin Mohd Syarafuddin ;Muhammad Aidil Zafran bin Mohd AminMuhammad Luqman Hakim bin AzemiEmpowering Quran memorization in Tahfiz Religious Secondary Schools is a vital effort to ensure that the next generation of huffaz is able to memorize and retain the sacred verses of the Quran effectively and continuously. Historically, various methods have been applied to strengthen Quran memorization and retention (murajaah). These include selecting a suitable environment and time, using effective memorization techniques, setting clear goals, and enhancing motivation. However, challenges such as forgetfulness, weak retention, and difficulty in selecting the most appropriate method to memorize the Quran still persist among tahfiz students in mainstream educational institutions. Therefore, this study aims to identify the most effective strategy for Quran memorization and retention. A mixedmethod approach was used, with data collected through questionnaires containing questions related to memorization techniques and adapted questions from the Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS), as well as interviews with 30 tahfiz students and 15 tahfiz teachers to obtain deeper insights into the memorization practices of huffaz at Tahfiz Religious Secondary Schools. The analysis of quantitative data was carried out with descriptive statistics, chi-square, t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and regression, while qualitative data was thematically analyzed following Braun and Clarke’s framework. The results showed that visual mushaf reading, repetition (takrār), and tahrīrī were the most common strategies. Correlational studies demonstrated that weekly tasmīk volume was advanced as a significant predictor of retention, whereas systematic murājaʿah was shown to be beneficial for memorization but was not always significant independently. Thematic analysis revealed five major aspects: repetition is the main approach, the spiritual aspect of prayer, the social aspect of talaqqi, the reinforcement of writing and observation, the pragmatic strategies that deal with modern challenges. The research demonstrates that Qur’anic memorization reaches its maximum effect when the given strategies are incorporated systematically into regular practice. Frequency and memorization volume criteria proved themselves to be the most effective long-term retention predictors, thus upholding the complementary nature of traditional Islamic pedagogy and cognitive science. These findings suggest that tahfiz curricula need to be orchestrated to sustainably perpetuate classical methods and adapt them to the modern learning environment. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
